Computer is a bit bulky with a large power supply adapter to power the device. It has worked great on any game ive played. Ram can be a bit of a bottleneck for heavy memory games. The fans have good temp profiles from the box that will ramp up to reduce heat and stay within temperatures. Averaged 150 fps on marvel rivals. No issues with crashing. Screen is a bit small and unimpressive for modern standards in this price range.

First off i upgraded from a GTX 1060 TI.. so this obviously amazes me. Is it the highest end available and will it run every game at max settings while you get 144FPS? No. It will run almost all most current games at max settings. Black ops 6, cyberpunk(not full maxed out but mostly) GTA 5 runs it like a beast (maybe cause the game is like 10 years old) those are just a few i have tried since owning this laptop. With that being said by no means do i get 144FPS. For instance BO6 benchamrk at max settings averages 78FPS. My only 2 complaints (this far) is that the power brick is HUGE. Not a problem really but factor that in when selecting a laptop travel bag. Also, the rubber grippers on the bottom are not at all grippy.

This laptop has really upped my gaming experience I play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on this machine and it does pretty good when the settings are right. I would say its a pretty good buy . I would like a more powerful machine but I really can't complain because I got this thing for $1200 and regular price is around $1700 so I think I got a pretty good deal and its a decent upgrade from what I had before I would say buy this one but I think they aren't making this model because they're replacing this with a newer one

It’s really an amazing laptop, people who wants to do video editing and video graphics. It’s a best buy. The performances and features are so good. I feel that only disappointment was the standby and size of the battery charger it’s huge. Another then that.. it’s perfect for the gamers.♥️

It arrived in perfect condition, I've been using it for a month and I haven't had any problems so far. It does not overheat because of its good ventilation system, the only flaw is that it is somewhat heavy but in terms of performance is perfect.

Bought this a few months back. Absolute beast of a laptop. Handles all unreal and unity engine smoothly. Games run super duper fast. It kinda feels awesome to see most games automatically choose max graphics. The fan’s a bit noisy and heats up really fast. But if you put it on stand, it doesn’t matter. Worth every penny!

I needed it for university because I use very heavy and demanding programs and it has worked very well so far, I've had it for a year now. In the first few months I had several failures and I never knew why, it also got very hot but I fixed it, it broke a little on some sides and I take good care of it but from then on it has worked well.

Solid FHD performance with Alienware cooling tech

This gaming laptop has a quite spacious screen estate and it is quite substantial in terms of dimension and weight. Gaming laptop used to be ginormous and this laptop, though it is still big being a 15-inch laptop, it’s not as huge as the 17-inch model. Having said that, however, some other gaming laptops can be as small as 13-inch, weight much less and thinner than the 15-inch gaming laptop. The 15-inch class gaming laptop gives us a great balance between performance, excellent screen estate and portability. At the outset this laptop is an able desktop replacement performer with its Intel i7 13650 HX processor, Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, 16 GB DDR5 RAM, and ample of ports. It supports Wifi 6 and BT 5.2 and it has excellent port variety including USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with Display Port, HDMI 2.1, and even RJ45 to connect your fiber network directly to your laptop, which makes the laptop viable for some competitive gaming. The maximum RAM is 32GB, which means user needs to replace existing Rams with 2 x 16 GB DDR5 RAM. There are two M2 storage memory slots, which is nice if you want to add more storage in the future. For now, the 1 GB slot should be enough if you play 5-6 AAA titles every now and then. The design is unmistakenly Dell/ Alienware and I would say that it borrows the design so much from Alienware since Dell owns Alienware. The laptop is solid and the overall appearance is actually more like a business laptop instead of looking like a gaming laptop. There’s no fancy LED, other than the illuminated keyboard, and there’s no smooth texture of an Alienware laptop to give a strong gaming laptop impression. The Dell actually looks like a normal business/ professional laptop, which makes it very much suitable to use in the meeting rooms. For those who are into gaming, however, you can still quickly tell that it’s a gaming laptop judging from the design of the cooling system. In fact, if I don’t see the Dell branding on the laptop, I could be mistaken that it’s actually an Alienware. According to Dell, the cooling technology is inspired by Alienware and I can see that clearly as the laptop sits on the desk and I compare both my Alienware R16, that is slightly larger, with the Dell. Having such an advanced cooling system in a laptop is important as nobody wants to lose frames when playing graphics intensive games over a long period of gaming session. The laptop also comes with Alienware Command Center, which again makes a stronger impression that this is actually an Alienware in a Dell body. The laptop comes with a huge and heavy 330 watts power brick, which is quite sad since Dell sells a slimmer and much lighter 330W power adapter. The supplied power brick is the same one with my R16 Alienware. The huge power brick makes the laptop somewhat undesirable to carry around as a home and work laptop so purchasing a slim 330W power brick would become a necessity for that purpose. Setting up the laptop is just like any other Windows laptop. I updated the firmware and Windows automatically imported the settings and apps from my other PC. There’s a firmware update that I performed. I’m quite unpleasantly surprised that after installing a firmware update, I experienced a couple of blue screens. It could be that the firmware was not stable or it’s just Windows thingy, I’m not sure. After installing another firmware update, which is quite surprising that there would be another firmware update in the first place because the laptop should have been updated to the latest one without requiring multiple updates, the laptop is now stable without experiencing blue screen anymore. Being a PC laptop, it’s not the most energy efficient laptop out there. The laptop supports Nvidia Optimus, which makes a MUX switch pretty much unnecessary provided that we have set accordingly the programs that require discrete GPU. Gaming on the battery is possible, however, expect the battery to drain really fast but to be fair nobody do serious gaming on battery anyways. The battery is rated by Dell to last more than 6 hours; however, this figure is only achievable when the laptop is running non graphics intensive app exclusively. Also, it’s important to remember that this is a 15-inch class gaming laptop so don’t expect it to be an allrounder that has great battery life. So, how does it perform as a gaming laptop? It performs quite well. Let’s talk about the screen. The FHD screen is matte and works at 120hz, which should be enough for most gamers. AAA title runs smoothly and colors are vibrant enough. The 120hz screen does a great job in smoothing the visual. 1080 resolution still gives you plenty of detail on the 15.6 screen. A pro gamer, however, would likely look for a laptop that has RTX 4080 or at least 4070 class GPU and would appreciate greater level of detail. This laptop, which has RTX 4060 is suitable for gaming at FHD resolution and it performs well within the spec. Graphics at FHD resolution and RTX on, is still smooth. Cyberpunk 2077 in high quality, with ray tracing’s medium setting and DLSS auto, performed smooth. In the benchmark, average FPS is 70.33, the highest is 105 FPS and the lowest is 25, which is more than playable. At the given parameters, graphics are definitely better than console in terms of quality and performance. I reckon that overall performance is actually on par if not better than my desktop class PC with RTX 2070 Super, which is not at all surprising given that my gaming rig is about 4 years old now. Audio performance does not disappoint, it is loud enough for gaming and the microphone works well so this laptop is all good for multiplayer gaming. I also like the Alienware style cooling system and have no problem with it. Overall, I’m happy with the laptop because it has the specs that I want and it is basically an Alienware machine in a Dell package. So, who is this gaming laptop for? Anyone who wants to game and looks for a desktop replacement. With the purchase of a slim power adapter, this could become a great home/work laptop, as well.

I have worked with her in Revit and it has worked very well. However, I have had a problem, and it happens that the computer has turned off twice and has not wanted to turn on. It finally lit up after several attempts. And yesterday, while I was holding a meeting on Google, it closed unexpectedly and I couldn't open Google again.

A More Than Capable Budget Friendly Gaming Laptop

I was looking forward to seeing what Dell has done with their 1K gaming laptop with the G15. Even budget gaming laptops have become powerful now, but in order to keep the price low, manufacturers end up opting for a few components or features that are mid grade in order to keep it around 1K in price. Dell has packed quite a lot into the G15. The FHD 120Hz screen and the WiFi card seem to be where Dell was able to reduce some costs to get the G15 around the 1K mark. The screen is good as is the WiFi card, but both are more than sufficient to make my gaming experience with the G15 a really good fun experience. design/construction I like the construction of the G15 case. It's sturdy. The hinge for the screen I like as well. The hinge isn't as wide as the laptop which gives the impression that it is a 15" display sitting on top of the laptop as opposed to an impression that it is integrated/built-in. It has a full keyboard layout which I like on laptops as I do use the number pad often. Dell chose to offset the trackpad which I don't like. Dell isn't the only manufacturer that does this, but I would like to see the trackpad shifted to the center left to right on future iterations of the G15. The keyboard backlighting was helpful when in low light. This laptop has some weight to it. When you add the weight of the large 330W adapter that it uses, it adds up to a lot of weight. This isn't a problem for me but I wouldn't want to be carrying this around plus the power brick daily in my laptop backpack. According to Dell, the G15's 86 Wh battery will get me up to 6hrs 31 minutes of runtime. When running an FPS, battery life was less as I expected it to be. Running an office app and a browser, I was getting reasonably good battery life for a gaming laptop, but I wouldn't buy this for office apps. I use it for gaming, photo editing, and video rendering. When gaming and video rendering, I get much less battery life. This should be expected given how much power the CPU and GPU require in order to run a game or video rendering software. Screen/GPU The built-in screen is a 115.6" FHD display. I found that it isn't as bright as an OLED or similar display, but was more than adequate for my use. My use of standard apps was a good experience with the display. The brightness of it allowed me to see apps without a problem in both low and bright light. The screen runs at up to 120Hz which helps with games such as an FPS. Battlefield 2042 looked good on the display. The onboard GPU is an Intel UHD GPU and the discrete GPU is an NVidia RTS 4060 8GB. The 4060 supports G-Syc so it worked quite well with my 32" gaming monitor which also supports G-Sync. It was enjoyable to play BF 2042 on the G15. I didn't experience screen lag or any video related glitches when playing it. Internal Hardware The G15 came with an Intel Core i7-13650HX. This is an up-to-date CPU and is what I expected for a 1K gaming laptop. It was more than enough to play all of my games on without causing lag or other problems. Regarding the RAM, my G15 came with 16GB of DDR5 RAM. The RAM is good, but I would have liked to see it come with 32GB. 16GB of RAM is now on the lower side of things and games run much smoother with 32GB. It comes with a built-in webcam, however, the webcam is only 720p. I don't record video of myself while play a game and screen recording the game, but if I did, I would have to use a different camera as 720p just wouldn't be sufficient. I like the 1TB NVMe SSD. I found it to be fast enough that game load times were reasonable. It's good to see that Dell has a 1TB SSD option. The laptop also has a WiFi 6 AX201 WiFi card in it. This is not a WiFi 6E card which I would have liked to have seen in it, but this is more than sufficient to play multiplayer games. I didn't have lag problems when using the G15 to play BattleField. The only problem I experience with the WiFi card was that when downloading BF 2042 and other games, the laptop heated up quite a bit. I was getting up to 500Mbs transfer speeds which shouldn't have caused excessive heat. Nothing was running that would have added to the heating as I checked all processes running at that time. The transfer speeds were decent and it isn't often that I'm downloading 70+GB of games, so I don't expect that to be a problem. Ports Dell has added into the G15 three USB 3.2 gen 1 ports, a USB-C 3.2 gen2 with display port support. I would like to see next versions of the G15 come with an additional USB-C port, but as it stands I like the updated USB-C port included. It also has an HDMI 2.1 port. It's good to see that Dell is staying up-to-date on I/O ports with the G15. Lastly, it has a 3.5mm headphone/mic port and an 1GB LAN port both of which are on the left side of the laptop. The LAN port has a spring loaded part the moves down when connecting a LAN cable. Time will tell if it causes a problem, but as of now, I like it. It allows the LAN port to have a more seamless integration with the angled part of the bottom edge of the laptop. I found the spring to feel strong, so I'm not worried about it failing. Conclusion The Dell G15 is a good 1K gaming laptop. With the CPU and GPU that are in it, it hits the mark for a budget friendly gaming laptop. I would like to see Dell step up to a WiFi 6e nic and add in 32GB, but a manufacturer has to weigh price vs capability. I'm very happy with my G15 and I believe you get a lot for the price.

In just 2 months of use, the operating system began to fail. Unfortunately, I did not purchase insurance, so I cannot obtain a refund. I had to submit to the factory warranty, which would simply repair it. I am not satisfied with that option, since now I will have a rebuilt computer when it was supposed to have lasted a long time without having that type of failure.

    Full wattage 4060!

This gaming laptop is basically the Dell branded version of their higher tier award winning gaming brand laptops in disguise at a price point that knocks it out of the park. Specifically a wolf in sheep’s clothing so to speak. It even uses Dells own Alienware command center for all the controls you could want as far as performance, lighting, sound, fan speed and all. It even has a built in overlay for games you can hit a control shift Y and bring up your current fan speed and cpu/gpu temps which is really nice to know of sometimes when your really cranking. One thing that really impressed me with this is the fact that it runs a FULL 140w rtx 4060 in here which the past two years is almost never this high of wattage. Granted wattage doesn’t make as significant a difference as it did on the 30 series gpus it still gives this machine an advantage vs some others that are only running the same graphics chip at 80w for sure. Being able to reach benchmark scores into the high 10k low 11k range in time spy bringing it into reach of other much more expensive 4070 powered machines. This HX cpu is also extremely performant for the spec and power draw able to score over 20k multi core on the R23 benchmark and 1900 single core. With these big chips you’d expect two things, heat and power consumption with loud fans. So because you can use Alienware command center you can set your preferred profile which on silent mode means the fans actually don’t even spin and it’s actually silent while on performance or even G turbo mode the fans are loud but oh my the thermals are incredibly good!! Even maxing out the cpu and gpu at the same time 100% it can manage to keep both in the 70c range which is extremely rare in gaming laptops these days. Now it does use a very large power brick which is 330w but the fact it’s running full wattage makes total sense to have and can be thought as a large benefit. I should note on battery power in silent profile web browsing I was comfortably able to do so for a good 6 hours without fear of battery being dead with the large 86w/hr battery this is also a really good stat for a gaming laptop. The chassis is an excellent dark grey and black with orange backlit keys and orange rear vents which really pops and looks very good. It is a full plastic build including the trackpad but it’s not the type of plastic to where it feels cheap it’s all quality feeling and not creaky or anything and the trackpad feels almost Teflon coated it’s so smooth. The display is FHD and a little on the dimmer side at only 250nits and this is the only real drawback for me and why it’s not a 5 star review. The resolution is a great fit for this gpu but the brightness doesn’t get bright enough in certain situations for me when working in front of my living room window. Note that I can still see it but in direct sunlight it’s just on the verge of being difficult to do so and just 50-100 nits brighter screen would be a perfect solution here but alas you can’t have it all at this price point. That brings me to the price and thoughts here overall. I don’t think that there is another budget minded gaming laptop that is this good of a value out there today. There is heavy competition at this price point by almost every brand out there but Dell really just gives you a little of everything then makes this thing shine with extreme performance with good thermals you can’t find in any of the others. You can’t really ask for more, making this lead the pack in the budget machines category imo. Great laptop for a budget gamer to a college student to even the hardcore gamer looking for a good machine for the value as it can suit a wide variety of uses perfectly well even if it’s not primarily gaming. This edges out every other laptop in its price range and gets a good recommendation from me.
