The only draw backs are it doesn't come with the Microsoft office suite, and the battery life is short for an average day unplugged.

Great laptop for work

I needed one immediately. This was being sold at a reasonable price, and worked out as a great replacement. Perfect size since I do a lot of multitasking on screen.

Some minor things seam a little odd, like the screen font is a little small for my family. We are seniors and print at times is small for us. Also, Turbo-tax said we had to us Windows 10; however after completing our taxes a message stating that this is the last year that Windows 7 could be used. This isn't a Best Buy err but I was surprised.

The only issue I have is when it was delivered, I don't think they checked to make sure all the keys worked as they should. The space bar doesn't work properly and takes multiple strikes to get the cursor to move over.

Does not have an additional SSD to help with speed and graphics. You end up paying more for less. 17.3" should have the same equivalent to smaller screens in all aspects. I did buy it because it was a Dell. But I feel cheated on price marketing.

I can understand how upsetting this could be. 1TB hard drive has ample file storage space and holds a sizeable collection of digital photos, music, HD videos and DVD-quality movies. 5400 rpm spindle speed for standard read/write times. We're sorry to hear about the problems that you're having with the speed of your laptop. We'd recommend limiting the number of programs that launch at startup:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC key together on the keyboard.
3. In the Task Manager window, click Startup tab.
4. Select the program or application that you want to disable from loading during startup.
5. Right-click and select Disable.
6. Repeat Step 4 & 5 for all the programs or applications that you want to disable from loading during startup.
7. Restart your PC.

If you still have issues with your computer freezing you can try these steps:
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
a) Start the computer.
b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete step 3 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
3. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

Awesome computer

It’s perfect for our at home laptop but if you’re looking to cart it around, it’s probably not the best bet. However, we were looking for a great at home laptop with all the buttons and this has it. The display is beautiful. Very crisp, clean colors. It’s worked wonderfully- no glitches!

Worst lap top ever! What a waste of almost $800!

I don't even believe it was truly brand new when I opened it up. I've had it for six months now, and even from the beginning, it freezes, loads slowly, doesn't recognize any external hard drives, is constantly at 100% Disk in task manager and over 60% memory all the time. I have no large programs downloaded, no music, no games, nothing. I don't do anything but stream Netflix or Prime and social media. I have Webroot antivirus. I use Firefox because Chrome stopped working and would not load properly. Microsoft Edge is the worst so I am not in safe mode. That is a horrible thing all these laptops started doing, forcing you to use Edge. I am so unhappy with this laptop, I could cry. Instead, right now I am just angry, weary, and disappointed. DO NOT BUY THIS! You'll regret it!
