Failed after 1 month and 3 days, won't replace

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coffee maker worked great for 1 month and 3 days, then it threw a red warning light meaning it needed cleaning. I tried to remove the infuser per the manual for cleaning and the device won't release it (its release mechanism is controlled by the coffee maker, there is no mechanical release for it). I poke to Delonghi support and did a video call with them to troubleshoot - they determined that the unit was defective but given that its 3 days outside of the 30 day 'replace with a new one' warranty period I have to send the unit back in for repair instead of an outright replacement. A $500 coffee maker which fails in 1 month and 3 days should at the very least be RMA'd right away with a new unit, Its pretty clear to me after working through all the trouble shooting steps with their suppoer, that this unit is an overly complicated mechanical design with lots of moving parts inside combined with software controls that if all the stars don't align, won't release a serviceable component for cleaning. I am very disappointed with Delonghi and won't be buying another coffee maker from them, only giving it 2 vs. 1 stars since for the month it did work; it was amazing but I have little to no confidence given its design it would last very long.

More Cons than Pros

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It seems like a feature rich item, but I wish I spent a 5th of the money and bought a Keurig, as this is basically a glorified version. Pros (compared to what others offer): - It grinds fresh beans Cons: - The coffee is weak, and you can’t adjust it - It doesn’t tell you something needs taking care of when it finishes a cup, it waits until you are trying to brew the next. And this prevents the auto brew from starting. - It takes a bit to turn on, but you can’t change any settings unless it’s ready to brew. - It’s LOUD - The little reservoirs designed to catch water used to flush the system and used grounds don’t catch everything, so when you add the above up you have to be prepared to hAve your routine be: turn on and wait, get action item (full grounds), open machine, empty containers, clean the mess that comes out when you open the machine, put back together, wait for coffee, drink coffee.

Noisy and Annoying

I can only make 3 8oz cups of coffee before the overflow water container light comes on to empty being not quite half-filled, I also found DeLongi Customer Service to be quite terrible, it takes 3 days to get back to you, then they want to set up a phone call and then jump through some hoops, for the cost of $500 it is sn overall disappointment.

Not a $500 coffee maker

The idea that you have the option to use whole beans or coffee grounds is great, but at what cost? The 5 step button sequence thats got to be right or you’ll end up canceling and wasting coffee grounds/beans. The insane mess it creates at the opening for grounds, the ground/water waste slots, the main compartment and below the machine from the water waste sloshing around and spilling over. Idk i wish i could return it or exchange it but is what it is.

This is a disappointment

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After my second Keurig failed I decided to go with something pod less and ended up with the De'Longhi TrueBrew. This coffee maker is more money than I planned on spending but I wanted something that makes a really good cup of coffee and thought this was it. I was mistaken. The setup of the machine is simple enough, the instructions easy to follow. However, I have two main issues with the machine. First, even on the hottest temperature setting the coffee is not hot enough if you add cream, which I do. I have recently purchased a $50 single serve machine for pre-ground coffee and it blows this thing away for coffee temperature. Secondly and equally irritating is the MESS this machine makes. After only a few (3-4) cups of coffee I get the icon that tells you it's time to removed the used grounds. In opening up the machine there are two reservoirs, one for spent grounds the other for missed coffee? I don't know where the coffee is going in the process but a fair amount is going into this internal space. Maybe mine is defective but there is way more coffee going into the space than I would expect. Also, if you decide to add pre-ground coffee in the hopper at the top, be aware you only have a limited amount of time to brew that cup (couple minutes) before the system just "dumps" the coffee grounds into the machine and you have to clean up the mess. Maybe my unit is defective, I don't know but I am extremely disappointed with this machine for the money I spent.

True Brew Infuser Problems

Called Customer Service. After lengthy video session was told I would have to ship it off to have repaired. Would not recommend not buy again. Much more dependable units on the market.

However, this machine makes a huge mess. Already starting to have liqiud under the machine after it brews. Not worth the price. Do not recommend.

It uses way too much in coffee beans. Hard to get a consistent taste in the coffee. Have to take machine apart to clean nearly every two days. Great concept, just not working with this machine.

A HUGE Disappointment

It looks very nice and the idea is great! but the mess inside with water and coffee is really not good. After every third cup, I have to take it apart and clean it, otherwise water and coffee spills out and under the machine, even though the waste water container isn't even half full! I will be returning this today, once I've spent another 30mins cleaning up. I really wanted to love this machine

Posted .Hello Neil, thank you for purchasing our new TrueBrew automatic drip coffee maker in response to your feedback about the liquid and coffee grounds between the two bins. Sometimes, water and coffee grounds are seen internally in the drip tray.
It is due to how the coffee pucks are made and the infusion process to brew a great-tasting cup of coffee. While cleaning the coffee puck and drip container, you may need to clean the infuser and the drip tray assembly.

Disappointing coffee maker.

Even when I filled the ground coffee "funnel" to the max, the resulting cup of coffee was light brown and not hot al all. I followed brewing instructions to the letter.
