This is a receiver that I am purchasing after about 13 years sticking with pioneer Elites. I decided to check out the Denon and was surprised by the sound quality. The music and movies seem to have an immersive atmosphere. I love the fact that it is future proof for 8k content. I am currently at 4k and don’t think I will be going to an 8k any time soon. Setting up the system took some time but if you follow the instructions it is very easy step by step connection process. This is supposed to be the top line of their mid-range of receivers. I am happy with the sound quality and video. The first thing my wife told me after we hooked it up was that even the picture on the tv looked better.

This is the 4th Denon AVR I've purchased - a 5.1 for backyard, a 5.1.4 for primary TV lounge, a 7.1 driving 2 speakers for living room and this 7.1 driving 5.0.2 in secondary TV room. All the units feature AirPlay and seamless Alexa integration through the HEOS app, so no new commands to learn for my family. At $499 (plus speakers), this AVR allowed me to set up a 5.0.2 for a similar price to a Sonos Atmos bar with surrounds that actually works. The AVR great for HT with plenty of power for 16 by 14 room; 4K passthrough, adjustable audio delay (for lipsync), eARC and CEC all work as expected. The Denon setup software has steadily improved - especially network ID and password entry. The HEOS app is a little clunky, but it works.

Sounds nice, easy setup. I bought this amp and two bookshelf speakers at first, using them as the front speakers. The setup menu lets you add speakers as you buy them. Then added a subwoofer, now I got a center and two front towers.

I had not upgraded in over 18 years and when I bought a new OLED TV. My 4K DVD Player was not keeping up this due to the HDMI ports not handling 4K or better transmission. This receiver took care of that and no latency on speech and video. All synchronized now. In addition the 7:1 is what I was looking for so it fit the bill. Set up was a breeze and all is controlled with one remote. Great for the price.

Good sound, wish had more customization, and wish it had a choice of stereo speakers on all stereo.

I am very happy with my avr. I paired it with a 7.2 polk audio set and couldnt be happier. Tv, video games, football, movies have all been elevated to new levels and its all very user friendly.

The only negative thing I can say about this is that the HDMI CEC function, sometimes get confused. It is only happened a couple times over the past few months of ownership, but when it happens, it’s very aggravating because when you try to switch inputs or turn one device on or off, sometimes they turn the TV off or when you turn the device off, it will not turn the TV off or it won’t show the input unless you turn everything off and then turn it back on again. Other than those two times the function has worked properly and the AV system has been able to control everything. AV set up was easy and everything sounds awesome. Just wish I had the money to buy the more powerful unit.

This is a fantastic receiver for the money. I was looking for a receiver to cover me for the time being with updated technology and the ability to pass-through 4K. It can upscale to 8K! Having Bluetooth, Heos and the ability to connect to our smart devices is just a bonus. This replaced a 12 year old Yamaha, and you can hear the difference from all inputs, and I'm so glad it did. Setup was a breeze. For the money, this AV receiver is highly recommended!

Quality and sound is great with this receiver. If you have high quality speakers a good receiver is a must.

I bought this due to it being the only 8k receiver my local best buy had in stock. The first one lasted for about 3 days before going out. I returned it to the store for an exchange, and had to have the new one delivered. This one has worked flawlessly, but I have not used it at high volume due to having it hooked to new speakers and because I have neighbors to be considerate of, for the time being. This is the first Denon that I've owned and they were on shaky ground after the first issue, but I'm happy with this one. Good pass-through for streaming and movies and good sound on music. It's not the top of the line, but it's a good mid level receiver.

A top notch unit. The $20,000 rigs a just a shade better. We also have a Denon AVR-13112 and it has been a workhorse.

What can I say, Denon receivers have been good for a long time. Bought this to replace an older Denon with the same power, so there wasn't any sound improvement. But the older Denon was only 1080P. The improvement in picture quality was very noticeable. Set up was super easy, it found all my video sources and even gave them names after I setup the Wifi.

Fantastic sound quality and fairly easy set-up. Replacement for a Sony receiver that drowned .Out of the box joy and a great sale price.
