I was looking for an upgrade from my old amp and this 1 fills my needs. Great power and a feature that will set up a separate location that can run a separate program, music or whatever you wish.

Very powerful receiver. Almost identical product with very similar components as another brand at a fraction of the cost. All of the same software features and capability. Older styling, but bleeding edge capability.

Loving it! This is my second unit. The first gave me error codes after 5 months of ownership. Best Buy replaced it, and the replacement sounds better than the first AVR.

Upgraded from Sony 790. What a difference. Wanted to expand and went with this one after lots of research. 4 subs for this price point is amazing. Great AVR. Set up was easy. Highly recommend

I recently purchased this receiver during the Black Friday sales event. My Best Buy membership gave me an additional $500 dollars off. This receiver replaced my ‘2010 Onkyo receiver. The Onkyo receiver was great back in the day but it has antiquated technology that can no longer keep up with my new Sony TV. My new Denon receiver is definitely a major upgrade especially when it comes to the surround sound and visual quality while watching movies. I am happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

First time owning an AVR. Got it hooked up to my new 98 in with a 5.1 system for now. Handles everything like a champ except for Nintendo switch had to be plugged into the TV.

Killer AVR! The DSP processing is awesome.
Flexibility excellent.
The firmware.. is a learning curve.
It’s the only drawback, could be improved.
But once u learn it, it is fantastic in its ability.
You may find yourself asking questions of Denon support. Some know the product, some have no clue lol! Be patient. Take your time. With all outputs active and most all inputs, it takes some learning.

Upgraded from a 10 year old Denon AVR-X2100 that has been flawless, wanted more power and features. Literally disconnected the old Denon and connected the new one. Same wires, speakers and devices. After playing at normal volume for a few hours new amp tripped on Protection Mode. (Flashing power light). Contacted Denon support who said it was my speaker wires. After telling them it was same exact speakers and wires for 10 years they then asked if it was plugged into a power strip (it was). Told me to plug directly into wall, which I did. Protection mode again after a few hours. Called Denon back, next they said it was overheating, it is on an open shelf. Not overheating. Finally told me to reset to defaults, which I did. Protection mode again. Returned to Best Buy and ordered another. Received, connected, and Protection mode again. Returned 2nd one to Best Buy and ordered Yamaha RX-A4A, its been flawless. My old Denon still works great. I did like Denon user interface better than Yamaha, but its no good if the amp doesnt work.
Hello, we are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with our AVR-X3800H. We do understand how frustrating this may have been to have gone from a great experience with a previous model and to have this experience on a newer one. The flashing power light would indicate that there is an issue with the wiring that needs correction, our customer care team hopefully advised you to double check the wiring and connections to ensure everything was correct. With it happening to both units, the odds that both units were faulty would be very low. However, I am happy to hear that whatever the issue was, it was corrected with the Yamaha AVR. We do hope you grant us another chance in the future to showcase our dedication to our craft and the quality sound our devices can produce. If you ever have any questions, you can always reach back out to us and we would be happy to assist.

I’m loving my new Denon receiver! Just know, the setup guide will appear on your tv-it’ll make the setup process much easier!
