This one is just plain cheap. Plastic it is made from is cheap and breaks. The plastic clip broke soon after I purchased it. It is not a durable vacuum.

Posted .Hi jontys! Your Vigor Bagless Upright should last longer than this. We want to help. Each unit is equipped with a thermal protector that will turn the unit off when it overheats and is usually caused from a blockage of airflow to the motor. The unit will reset once unplugged from the wall for 60 minutes, but will continue to overheat until the blockage has been cleared. Please give the following steps a try: 1.) Rinse both the foam filter and pleated filter from under the dirt cup and allow them to air dry completely before using. 2.) Open the bottom door of the dirt cup and twist the red baffle tube counterclockwise to remove. Tap out over the waste bin to remove any debris. Do not rinse. 3.) Disconnect the hose from both ends of the unit and run a broom stick through to clear any debris. 4.) Check inlets behind the dirt cup and bottom nozzle for any obstructions and remove.
