Customers appreciate the Ball Compact Animal Bagless Canister Vacuum for its powerful suction, lightweight design, and ease of use. It is particularly effective at picking up pet hair and is suitable for various floor types, including hardwood and tile. However, some users have expressed concerns about the short cord, small canister, and relatively high price.

It comes in a nice packaging. It's easy to assemble. It comes with all the accessory one would need. Good suction power, pulls all the dirt out of the carpet.

I have tried to get along with this vac

We had a dyson upright pet vac (the light purple one). We liked it ok, it was a little heavy, and we are getting older every year, so we thought we would buy a replacement that would be a little less taxing to throw around. we bought another dyson pet DC34 (I think), and I could not be more disappointed. I have tried to get along with this vac for months now, and it just isn't working. it's not all bad, I like the weight of the wand, and the ease of directional change it affords me, those are great. I am going to tell you that the shortfalls of this product GREATLY EXCEED the upside. the cord is too short, the plug is always upside down, and I have to turn it over EVERY time i plug it in (which is 3 times more now since you shortened the cord 5 feet.) The amount of force that it takes to pus the wand across a carpet has to be 40 or 50 pounds of force. it's fine on the hardwood, but the second it hits a carpet, or an area rug, it stops. the beater bar stops, the progress stops, everything gets stuck. the canister is much too small, the wand rest is horrible, non functional, and therefore, there is no way to put it in a good spot when you have to unplug the thing and move it 5 times now.. For the money we had to fork out, i expect more than this. my 75 dollar rigid shop vac does a better job. Oh, and it falls over ALL THE TIME! The static created just attracts the hair (see photo) this is UNACCEPTABLE

the good. It is very light and easy to move around and has great suction.
the bad. The power wire is very short and it feels somewhat fragile. The vacuuming head is also very small, so it takes forever to vacuum.

This vacuum replaced a Dyson DC11 canister vacuum that was great. This model is just good. It is more compact, a smaller dirt bin, no integrated on-board tool storage, shorter electric cord. My rating on its noise level: medium range in loudness for a vacuum. The suction seems very good. I liked the old Dyson DC11 better, hopefully I will get used to and find work arounds for the changes Dyson has made in their line of canister vacuums.

I own an old upright animal that is heavy and hard to get in certain areas. I bought the canister for its light weight and ease of doing stairs. The only bad things I can say is the short cord length and it doesn't seem to pick up as good as the upright when using the regular length attachment. You just have to go over area more times. I still like the ease of cleaning the stairs and its light weight

The vacuum has good suction but for smaller homes because of brush head . The price was good for the midrange vacuums . Light weight to be able to carry up and down stairs. This vacuum also had a nice modern style with keeping up to the times . This was the first Dyson that we ever owned .

wonderful vacuum, nice size, portability and lightweight. very well constructed and powerful suction. it really does a good job on cat hair! from what i see the only possible improvement that Dyson could consider would be to motorize the upholstery head as opposed to using suction to power the brushes. i don't know that it would make that much of a difference as it does a great job now and would probably only complicate things by making the head heavier and bulkier and likely drive the price up so i don't know if the potential gain outweighs the potential downside... overall an excellent machine and i'd buy it again in a heartbeat!!

This vacuum is small yet very powerful, lightweight which makes it easy to maneuver. I like the fact that with the telescoping wand you can reach under the bed easily. Great suction.

I bought this as a backup and for use in smaller jobs. It fits the bill very nicely and was on sale. I have always been interested in Dyson but never owned one and with some certificates and money off, I decided to make the jump. It does a pretty good job on hard surfaces but marginal on carpet. I do like how the head is compact and can get in hard to reach places. It's not ideal if you were to use it as a main vacuum because it could take some time to get the job done. Emptying the canister is a bit dirty and I have taken to using a Swiffer duster to brush around and get all the fine materials out of it.
I will say I have a Kennmore Elite Cannister which is MUCH more powerful and all over more versatile. It really fluffs the carpets nicely and much better than the Dyson. It's also much cleaner to use due to the bag. The bag acts as a preliminary filter and then it goes through a motor filter and finally a HEPA filter. The Dyson gets filters dirtier quicker due to no bag. And they require cleaning more often.
But like I said, it's good for a secondary or backup.

The DC47 is most compact and light weight canister machine. It provides powerful suction to effectively remove dust, dirt and pet hair from floors and carpets while still being easy to maneuver and store. Based on the details you provided, a full size machine, such as the DC39 may be better suited for your needs. It is a larger machine, featuring a longer power cord and higher capacity bin. We are happy to help you determine which Dyson is best suited for your environment and cleaning needs. Please email [email protected] and we will be in touch to discuss this further. Best wishes, Dyson Customer Service

This vacuum is very powerful yet small, lightweight and easy to maneuver.
The compact head fits under low furniture and the telescoping wand reaches under the bed and above the floor. This is the second Dyson I've owned over 12 years and I would never buy another brand. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.

I had always heard good things about Dysons but never wanted to spend the money on one. I'm glad I finally bit the bullet bc this vacuum is amazing. It cleans better then any vacuum I've ever used and the canister makes it very easy to vacuum stairs. The only reason I took a star away is its a very pricey vacuum.

Bought this on the Deal of the Day. Purchased through Best Buy website to pick up at the store. When I picked it up, the box looked rough, but was assured everything was new. Brought it home, opened the box, (box looked taped back together on the lids) to find out it was missing two pieces (Tangle Free Turbine, and stair tool). Evidentally, this had been purchased previously, and the previous owner decided not to return the two tools.
Called Best Buy, they did not have any more in stock, did not know when they would be replenishing their stock. They said they could order a new one, but it would be a couple weeks. So, I registered the vacuum with Dyson, and emailed their customer service. At first, they said that particular vac did not come with a Turbine tool or Stair tool (although their website, as well as Best Buy's website clearly shows these items included). After a couple more emails, was finally able to get Dyson to ship the missing tools for free.
Overall, the vacuum runs great, wife is happy with it (after the hassle), and it does a great job at cleaning. I would give a 5 star to the vacuum itself; but the hassle I had to endure through the incompetence of Best Buy and to a lesser extent, Dyson, has me marking two stars off.

good quality build. very pricey, not sure if it's great suction power equals the price tag. seems to be durable but then again, it hasn't gone thru years of normal wear and tear yet. easy to empty the canister. one annoyance i keep having is when vacuuming and the ball needs to roll over the cord, it doesn't necessarily turn on a dime. the power cord does get in the way a lot. i was expecting it to roll over the cord easily. and i dont want to yank on the cord because the unit is so expensive, i feel like i would scuff it. also, going over rugs doesnt work so well. because it sucks so well that the head gets stuck. great vacuum abilities, but just way too pricey. it does pet hair pickup, just ok. not bad, but not awesome. pain to store because of it's unusual shape.

I had an Dyson Animal upright for 8 years. Needed to replace as it was losing suction. Bought the Dyson Animal compact Ball. Didn't realize how small it was. The dirt catcher cylinder gets full really quick and I need to empty after each vacuum. Also, when i tried to remove hair from the brush, the plastic screw that holds the brush in broke. Dyson customer service was great and sent me a replacement screw, which isn't usually covered by the warranty. I must have removed the plastic screw hundreds of times on my old machine with no problems ever.

Works great on hard wood floors, ceiling fans and everything else I have tried it on. Only thing I didn't know was how small the vacuum head is. It's about half the size of a typical one which is the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.
