Personal air purification with cool air flow

    Pros mentioned:
    Design, Fan, Features

This is another high quality product from Dyson. Please note that this is good only for a small area and will not deliver the air to the whole room/bigger area. It provides pointed air flow so you would mostly use it for personal use (e.g. on your work desk or next to your bed). Here are the features that I like about this fan: 1. Compact but elegant design - It quite small and can be easily placed on desk top, near beds etc 2. Cool pin-point air flow which can be adjusted. It can also be set in the oscillating mode where it moves up-to 70 degree angle. 3. It can be controlled via remote control and has a magnet to hold the remote so that you don't lose it 4. It provides you status of filter, fan speed via a small LED in the front. It can be set to night mode to dim the LED, set the sleep timer. The not so good: 1. No connectivity with dyson app or alexa etc as it does not have wi-fi 2. At $350, it is a bit pricy Overall, I recommend it for it's design and the main feature (air purification) if you are willing to spend $350 :)

    An expensive, but worthwhile investment

    Ease of use, For dust

When you work around computers all day, the air that room can become stagnant and the temperature can be unbearable. I’ve personally been in rooms that exceed 90 degrees simply because of the equipment within them. To try and remedy the discomfort level in those rooms, I have supplemented my desk set-ups with rechargeable fans. They are great for temporary relief, but when it comes to long-term assistance with airflow, you sometimes want a more powerful, solution. I recently acquired a brand new product from Dyson — the Pure Cool Me Personal Purifying Fan — and it’s been amazing. Dyson has been working on products that focus on cleaner, cooler air for consumers for quite some time. This latest product is actually aimed at ‘personal’ use for one or two people whereas some of Dyson’s fans are designed to circulate air through a larger area. The Pure Cool Me fan utilized Dyson’s patented Core Flow technology, which allows you to precisely adjust airflow. The fan is ideal for use on a bedside table, desk, or in a child’s room. The Pure Cool Me fan is not a ‘smart’ fan in the sense the you don’t connect it to a mobile device for control. The fan comes with a battery operated remote control that adjusts the fan’s speed and oscillation. When you pull the fan out of its box, you select a place for it, connect it to power, and then turn it on. Like most oscillating fans, you have the option to have it remain stationary and point at a single spot or person. When you look at the fan it actually resembles a sci-fi droid from a movie in my opinion. You can control the angle of airflow by manually adjusting the center of the dome. It can be moved up or down up to 45 degrees. The front of the fan has a LCD display that shows the mode of the fan as well as the speed. It will also show info on the filter and the timer. While I don’t have a good method of testing the air quality in my office, which is where I installed the Dyson fan, I do believe that it has helped quite a bit. I have left it on 24/7 for several days and it hasn’t seemed to be a problem for the fan. It hasn’t felt hot or seemed strained in any way. My office is a main thoroughfare in our house and people are constantly walking through it. This kicks up dust and other air particles that are hiding in the carpet. I’ve noticed that since I’ve had the fan running in the office that dust hasn’t been collecting on table tops as much and the air just seems less stagnant. The fan itself is incredibly powerful and it’s helped me on more than one occasion when I’ve overheated. At this point it’s difficult to say whether or not it’s worth the investment since it’s quite expensive compared to other air purifiers and fans, but I do believe it will last much longer than its rivals.

    My new office companion

    Office use

Dyson calls there Dyson Pure Cool Me their first personal purifying fan. I took that to heart and took it to work. My job requires me to close my office door and not come out for hours at a time. I am alone most of the time and this seemed a perfect place to keep it personal. I have to say at first the spacy look didn’t appeal to me at all. I think one will either like the looks or not. At first, I didn’t like the look until I had more time with it. Then I began to appreciate it more for its function over form. But the looks can grow on you when its cleaning the air you breathe. The fan comes with a pretty comprehensive remote control for all of it settings. The remote control can be placed on the front of the fan when not in use by magnets. The filter is quite large and to get to it you just press two buttons to lift the top off and pull the filter out. Dyson rates the filter life for one year when used 12 hours a day. The front of the fan has a simple round LED display that shows you the condition and life remaining of the filter. It also will display your fan speed, oscillation on and off and stop timer setting. The timer can go as low as 30 minutes or up to 8 hours. The fan itself seems to easily have more power then you need as a personal fan. The air flow is adjusted by pushing lightly on the blub, or orb. Odd as it sounds it does make a large difference on where the air is directed. The range of movement allows if to sit on your desk or the floor. The fan and air flow can be adjusted so it is almost totally silent to be loud with enough air moving for an average size office or bedroom. The fan has a removable power adapter with a six-foot power cable that ends in quite a large power brick. But it all feels very well thought out and built well. So far, I am very impressed with what Dyson has engineered here and look forward to knowing my office will have cleaner air for those long hours I spend in it. It is also nice to have a breeze keeping me comfortable.

    Interesting and Excellent

    Pros mentioned:

The Dyson Pure Cool Me is an odd-looking fan that delivers a powerful personal filtered flow of air. It uses a different technology to generate the airflow than other Dyson air product, but still claims to remove 99.97% of gases and pollutants, while delivering a directed air stream. The overall build quality seems great and it has a couple of interesting features. The bottom of the unit is home to a small round LCD display. It displays all needed information for managing the air level, filter information and other features. The center of device is home to a dome that controls airflow strength by sliding up or down. It has minimal impact and seems like an odd design choice. It comes with a magnetically attached remote control with a full set of functions – flow level, oscillation, power, filter information and sleep timer. It’s a nice little touch, but I didn’t find it as well engineered as I would have expected. The attachment strength is relatively weak, and it doesn’t always manage to find its way home like you would expect. Ideally, you’d want this unit in a close quarter’s situation – near a bed, in an office or on a desk. Build quality is what you’d expect from Dyson, no complaints there. The design is a little strange, but this is without a doubt an excellent high-quality filtered fan.

    Another home run for Dyson

This Pure Cool Me is yet another awesome Dyson product added to our home. The fan is surprisingly strong for the size, even more so than the blue & gray heat/cool fan we currently use in our bedroom. This new one is a bit quieter, and also an air purifier, which is a great addition. It has an LED screen that lets you see when the filter needs to be replaced (see attached photo) simply by pressing the " i " button on the remote. The LED also dims in dark rooms, which is awesome! I currently use a scrunchy to block the bright blue light our other Dyson fan omits into the bedroom. I am very sensitive to any kind of lights while trying to sleep, so this feature is going to save me the headache of trying to cover it without also covering the sensor for the remote to work. The remote is almost identical to our older model, which still has the original battery btw, but this one is magnetized and sticks to the front of the unit. The fan has a very nice range for osculation, and unlike our previous model, you can tell where the center is, for better positioning. To change the direction of airflow vertically you simply slide the middle sphere up or down. You can set a timer for it to go off in: 30mins, 1hr, 2hrs, 4hrs & 8hrs. I will probably never use it however, as I need white noise while sleeping, so the fan stays on ALL night, year round! I cannot wait to see how well this fan cools our bedroom once the hot weather arrives here in Michigan. Sidenote: Our Dyson heat/cool fan was bought in early 2012, 7 years ago, it has been used EVERYDAY during that time, and is still going strong, with the original battery that came in the remote! That says a lot about the longevity of their products.

    Awesome Personal Air Purifier

    Pros mentioned:
    Design

I own several Dyson products and they are all the top of their product category, albeit they are a bit expensive. The Dyson Pure Cool Me air purifier is another terrific example of Dyson's ingenuity. The odd yet sleek purifier is extremely simple to setup and use. Just lift top off the unit and slide in the filter cartridge, replace the top and you're done! A new and interesting way to angle the air flow helps to put fresh air right where you want it. The machine oscillates in roughly a 70 degree arc and I think the output air flow can change about 40-50 degrees vertically. A curved remote fits nicely (and magnetically) to the purifier base, but I just leave it on my nightstand. I've setup the purifier so it showers me with fresh air all night long - and I do feel I've been sleeping better the last 2 weeks with it. I think the nice consistent sounds helps as well. The unit has an informational display area to tell when the filter needs to be changed, shows the fan speed and displays the sleep timer setting. Also, you don't need to use the remote to change the speed - simply hold the power button in back to scroll through the speeds. Thus far, I'm very happy with the purifier and plan on sleeping better each night!

This review is for the Dyson - BP01 Pure Cool Me 290 Sq. Ft. Personal Air Purifier and Fan - White/Silver This personal size fan sits right by my desk. When I come in hot from outside I just crank this up to get direct cool airflow with its little remote. Works perfectly, and looks good doing it. People that come over always say, that is cool, what is it. Never gets old.

    Good basic air purifier

    Ease of use

The Pure Cool Me personal air purifier is for those who want or need air purification in a specific area or small room. It's not a whole house or large room purifier. Ideally, it should be positioned close to where you need it and preferably on a raised surface like a desk or table. It comes with some really nice features. For starters, it has a replaceable HEPA filter inside the base. This is great for filtering out allergens and small particles. The build quality is as you would expect from Dyson, top notch. It feels well put together, no parts are loose or mis-aligned. There's a power push button right above the power entry connection on the back. After powering it up, you can use the included remote control to turn it on and off. The remote is magnetic and has a nice dedicated spot to store it right on the front of the purifier. There's also a nice display on the lower front, that displays the fan speed level typically and a graphic for the condition of the filter. The air flow direction out the top is adjustable, and you can force the air to point anywhere from upward to downward by just sliding the rounded white “lens” up or down. The remote control will allow you to control all the features available. The power button, as expected, will turn the unit on or off. There's a fan speed button to allow you to increase or decrease fan speed. A button to turn on the oscillation function, and a timer button that cycles through several choices for time limits that the purifier is on. Using this will allow you to save the filter life if you really don't need to keep it powered on all the time. It also has an information button that will show the state of the filter on the front panel display. The fan is quiet yet strong. You have ten speed settings to choose from. I found that anything above “6” will really kick out the air. This purifier works good in a bedroom, and is quiet enough to run while you're asleep. Air purifiers in general are difficult to measure the effectiveness of without some type of air analyzer (which I obviously don't have), but it does suck a fair amount of air through the HEPA filter and you can feel the breeze across the room if you have it on a higher setting. All in all it's a nice purifier. What's missing from it however is WiFi. There isn't any way to control it aside from the remote. If it had an app, like other Dyson purifiers, you could set on and off times, and monitor the condition of the filter among other things. It's not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice if they had included it. But, the purifier functions really well, has good solid basic features and is quiet. Great for personal use.

I have bought 3 Dyson air purifiers in various models and for my needs this fit well in the bedroom. It did not take up much space and delivered cool clean air. We replaced a ceiling fan in Master bedroom that had sun exposure which heated up the room. This let us keep the room cool but enjoy the chandelier that replaced the fan.

This was purchased for use in my teen son's bedroom. His room is a little warmer than anywhere in the house , and he's a warm person. The fan runs quietly, as advertised. We also really like the fact that it is an air purifier as well. He will be dorming in college in another year and this has the power necesary for the size of the largest of dorm rooms. If you're looking, this is what you should be looking for!

Was looking for a better alternative to using other fans when not using my air conditioners since most fans seem to only blow hot air on hot days. So took a chance on paying a lot more for this & I love it! Not only does it clean the air but it really does blow cooler air! Haven’t had to use the air conditioner in my bedroom much at all except on the hot & humid days. Was so impressed that I went back to Best Buy & bought a bigger Dyson fan/purifier for my living room!

    Interesting design with surprising performance

    Ease of use, Speeds

The Pure Cool Me is a really clever idea. A fan and air purifier in one. The design is definitely unique and at first glance you are not really sure what the thing is or does. I do have to say that it does output an impressive amount of air from the small opening in the dome and is relatively quiet as well compared to a traditional fan. At the lower speeds you can barely even hear it while still feeling some airflow. The oscillation feature is really nice when using as a cooling fan and the way the airflow can be directed up or down is really neat as well. The filter is easy to access by pressing the two buttons on the side to remove the dome. The filter unit is also very solid and well made. Hopefully it doesn't have to be replaced very often because I am guessing that it would be somewhat expensive to replace. The LCD display, which displays air speed (1-10), sleep timer, and filter life is nice and bright and it also seems to auto dim when the room is dark which is nice. I also really like the remote which is nice to leave on a nightstand or somewhere for easy reach to change fan settings. The remote stores on the side of the unit when not in use via a magnetic connection which is a nice feature, I just wish that the magnet was a little bit stronger as it is very easy to bump it and knock the remote off. There is a power button on the back of the unit to turn it on but all other controls must be done using the remote. This is also a potential issue if you ever were to lose the remote or if it breaks you would be mostly unable to control the fan. One complaint would be the power brick design. It is a very awkward bulky thing that it is built into the end of the power cord and has a very unusual shape. It sticks out about 3 inches from the wall making it very difficult to plug into a wall outlet having a piece of furniture against it. I needed to us an extension cord to plug in behind a bookcase even though the unit's cord was plenty long enough.

I love the fan. It blows quietly with clean cool air. Its bulky but stylish enough to blend.
