I bought the eco thermostat 4 and a couple of these switches to go with it thinking on the promise from ecobee the sensors would work by end of 2018 which was not the case, and still Apr 2019 and the sensors functionality has not been deployed, the switch itself lose its wireless connection and then you need to restart it for the whole thing to work again, very annoying problem to have, I am a computer systems Engineer and specializes in networking and none of my other devices have the problem of loosing wireless connection

So even though I was supposed to be a beta tester for this I never got the free one and I gladly ball and spent the money to get the ecobee switch can I tell you I have any go before and before that in ecobee3 I am so disappointed this which does nothing that a normal zig bee say with an Alexa sitting next to it would do and I’m top of everything out it has caused my thermostat my ecobee four to go haywire the sensors to go haywire and for me to wake up cold every morning I am really beyond disappointed and two stars is being generous save your money or for god sake‘s pray for a software update

These things keep losing connection to the wifi. When I called ecobee customer support they were not very helpful. They offered to send out a replacement switch but I had to pay an electrician to put the switch in. So then I'd have to pay the electrician again to switch out the switch for a maybe this one will work? No thank you. It's like make the dang product work. Would not recommend this switch.

The idea and concept of this is great, however ecobee did a poor job executing the switch itself. It was originally said it will communicate with your ecobee thermostat when before it even came on the market - still waiting for that functionality more a year and a half later. The voice control with Alexa is very patchy at best and does not work well when you're in close proximity to other Alexa devices - it claims you can simply say a command and only the closest one will respond. Actually, these switches interfere with other units, sometimes responding when it's the closets one, but usually when it's further away from you. I bought 2 units and had each one replaced twice within their warranty period due to faulty occupancy sensor, inability to connect to WiFi, stopped responding to voice command and one that simply stopped working as a switch. There are a number of other issues I've encountered which makes this more of a half baked hobbyist's toy than a practical everyday solution. The only plus that comes to mind right now is that the aesthetics are spot on - looks very good. I want this to work, but as the title says, it's nothing more than a great idea and poorly executed device.

Having a location issue, I got a quote for moving the thermostat. Decided instead to install an Ecobee 4 thermostat and a switch+ to act as the Sensor where the thermostat was to be moved to. Installed the EB4, and in the process of installing the switch+ the instructions state it is ONLY compatible with SINGLE switch lights!!! Only single switchs I have are in closets! Every other light is a two-way (halls, large rooms) or double switch plates (bedrooms). Cannot use:(
