Customers are pleased with the DEEBOT N8+’s mopping and mapping capabilities, praising its ease of use and quiet operation. Many appreciate the robot's smart navigation and effective cleaning performance, although some noted that battery life and dustbin capacity could be improved. The auto-empty station is a highlight for many, but some users experienced issues with its functionality.

The unboxing and setup experience was very pleasant. After we got it setup in our Google Home app, we ran the floor mapping for about 30 minutes. The cool thing about this robot is you don't need to physically block off sections you want to leave untouched. You create zones in the app where you want the robot to vacuum or mop and where you don't want the robot to go. Also, forget about this guy getting stuck anywhere. With the sensor on the top of the robot and the push bumper, we have yet to see him wiggle his way into a nightmare. You can set routines in the Google Home app so he can run while you're out at work or with the kids. There is an auto-empty sation that acts as a charging bay included in the box, so even if he's a little tired from cleaning your house, he'll recharge and return to his last checkpoint. Overall, we are very pleased with our purchase. It is well worth the price, even when it is not on sale!

It does the job. No more fur on the floor carpet/rug/hardwood/tile. Easy to set up and use. Mopping function would be better if there was cleaning solution to add to it, but it says just water. Still does a pretty good job with the mopping function

I love this so much! It makes it so easy to vacuum the house regularly with children and a dog. It picks up everything and goes under and around any furniture! Bonus that it empties itself so you do not need to do that every time! It maps out the house and knows where to go, doesn’t fall down stairs or anything. Must have in a busy house!

Pretty good, for its price range is a pretty good robo vacuum for general upkeep and single story house de duster, the mop attachment its ok. If you are a clean person it is a pretty decent option to help to keep the house clean

I love my vacuum because it helped me to upkeep the floor and thats why i give a 3 star. On the downside, it doesn't always gets the layouts of the floor plan correctly and when its safe in the memory the dead spaces never get clean. You have to do manual maintenance after every cleaning cycle to remove all the hair and stuff that get stuck. (And thats after every cleaning cycle). The dust cannister never empty itself out in to its charging tower. The mop doesn't work as good so i just used it to remove dust of the floor.
Again i do like this vacuum but i will never recommend for deep cleaning of the floors.

Fantastic robot and app. I started out with a Shark EZ 912S which was on sale. I had it for a day. That's all. I then saw this on sale for just $50 more than the Shark and it is night and day how much more advanced this Deebot is. From the mapping to being able to establish "no-go" zones, to being able to tell it to just clean an area real fast; for example say you have a small mess in front of the TV. You can tell it to come clean up that small area with it having to do the whole living room (though you can tell it to do that as well). The robot itself does a great job of mapping out your home without ramming into everything. And if it has a hard time with an obstacle it won't just give up and move on to another area, it figures out how to maneuver around that obstacle. Say a corner of your area rug kind of curls up under the robot and it gets hung up for a sec, it won't just think "welp I can't be here it's too hard, I better go clean somewhere else", it backs up or rotates a bit to get free and continues cleaning that area. I also have my dock station in an odd spot under a tall desk because I wanted it out of the way and the robot has no problem finding it. I could go on and on about the pros because it really is an intelligent little hot. The only con I have is that this robot "can mop too". But the catch is that you can't leave the mop attachment on the robot unless you want it to mop. So if your home is 90% carpet and 10% hard floor, you'd have to attach and detach the mop just to get that little bit of hard floor mopped. It's much less hassle to break out the Swiffer. Having the bot be able to vacuum or mop at any time on the fly would make this thing perfect.
This isn't a con but a heads up: When the robot auto-empties it can be a bit loud. So if you have pets they may not be a fan until they can used to it.
Bottom line: Buy it.

Good Vacuum with Some Caveats

I should say upfront that I received the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8+ for the purposes of providing a honest, unbiased review. I hope that I can provide some helpful information in your quest to decide if the N8+ is right for your home.
This is not my first robot vacuum. It's not even my first Deebot. I also own the Deebot T8 AIVI. So this review will be a bit of a compare and contrast since both the N8 and the T8 share a lot of features and designs. The biggest difference is that the N8 comes with an auto-empty station (which retails separately for $250), no camera (a feature I found only minimally useful and a bit creepy depending on who might be watching), and a smaller battery. That last difference is, I think, the big sticking point on whether or not this vacuum is right for your home or not.
In my experience, the N8 ran for about an hour on a full charge with default suction before returning to the base to charge. While on the charging base / empty station, it would then take roughly 3.5 hours before the battery was full again. I found that the vacuum could cover roughly 800 square feet on a single charge. The T8 could run for two and a half hours on a single charge.
The battery life was a noticeable problem during mapping. On the initial run, the vacuum runs an advanced clean and maps out your floor plan. Afterwards, you can set up virtual boundaries and designate spaces. Those features work really well, but it took me three separate sessions or roughly 9.5 hours for that initial run because the vacuum had to return to charge after every hour of use.
This may or may not be a deal breaker. For me, it isn't. I don't mind the vacuum taking it's time. If you live in an apartment, this may not be an issue. A two bedroom apartment full of furniture would likely be covered in a single charge. Homes with split floor plans would also not be as affected.
Speaking of mapping, it is really important that you do not interrupt your vacuum during that initial cleaning / mapping. If you are afraid the vacuum might get stuck underneath furniture, block that area off and set up a virtual boundary later. If you have to pick-up the vacuum during the initial mapping, you could screw up the mapping process and have to do it all over again.
If I had a complaint, I wish that the vacuum had a mapping mode that didn't use the vacuum. Just let the vacuum run on a single charge without using power to vacuum. I'd like the map done as soon as possible. Re-mapping after a failed eight hour run is a bit frustrating.
The auto-empty station was the feature that drew me to the N8. And, it works. But, if your N8 is particularly packed with debris, the auto-empty station may not fully empty your vacuum. Best to check after cleaning sessions to make sure the bin is empty. The auto-empty station isn't quiet. I wouldn't recommend having it in a bedroom to run late at night. It's a vacuum for your vacuum and it sounds like it.
One of my big complaints when I reviewed the T8 last year was the software. And, it has gotten better. Both on my T8 AIVI and the N8, the software and app have noticeably improved over the last year. The N8 worked better out of the box. Google and Alexa integration are simple and work great in my experience.
The mopping feature works, it just hasn't been something I have used too much. If you intend to use your N8 to mop, make sure the auto-empty station is located on hard floors, preferably hard floors that go through the house. The N8 avoids carpets if the mopping plate is installed. Keep in mind, you can't put cleaning solution into the reservoir. The mopping is just using water and your respective cleaning pad to clean the floors.
Also, the N8 will need a decent amount of space for the vacuum and the auto-empty station. The included carpet ramp attached to the auto-empty station stuck out from the wall nearly 22 inches.
The N8 comes with the auto-empty station, a reusable cloth mopping pad, ten single use mopping pads. Deebot sells a kit with extra side brushes, a replacement roller, and replacement air filters. It runs roughly $50.
A lot of what I liked about the T8 AIVI is included with the N8. The auto-empty station and lower price tag make the N8 very appealing. If smaller battery doesn't seem like a deal breaker to you, then I highly recommend the N8.

Have had experience with a number of robot vacuums and this Deebot has been the best i've tried so far.
It is incredibly easy to easy to set up, though I had to put mine on a 2.4ghz network as I had trouble connecting at 5ghz. Download the app, remove all of the plastic and you're ready to start your first cleaning/mapping. Be sure to wait until the battery is fully charged though, this does go through it's battery fairly quickly.
I watched it periodically while it did the first run and I was amazing by how different it was from other vac's. It knew not to go under my living room chairs (my previous vacuum always got stuck) and it wasn't running into walls or furniture. Once done, it gave me a perfect map for my home and it even marked the different rooms! I was then able to label each room which is super handy when I only want to clean a specific area.
The vacuum is super quiet and did an amazing job going from hardwood to carpet. Once it was done, it emptied it's bin by itself into the bin attached to the charging base...amazing!
Next step was mopping. I was chose the two rooms with tile/hardwood and was amazed by how disciplined the vac was around carpet and area rugs. It only mopped where it was supposed to and my floors look fantastic!
I've had robot vacs and mops, this does both jobs better than all of them while not having to have two different devices. I love it!

Within two minutes it stopped. I reset it multiple times and each time it stopped after about two minutes. Some of the errors indicated the drop sensors were dusty. I cleaned them, but it made no difference. I returned the vacuum and ordered another identical vacuum which was shipped in a few days. I set up the new vacuum, ran it, and in about two minutes it stopped. I spoke with Ecovacs and they said it was the dark pattern in my rugs and suggested I place a virtual barrier around the rugs. Since I have matching rugs in the majority of rooms, that wouldn't leave much to vacuum. I returned the second unit.
I used to love Deebot. My N79S ran like a champ for years. Admittedly, it would encounter those dark patterns in the rug and change direction, but it always continued vacuuming. And usually, after it backed up a bit, it would continue over the dark patterns. The N8+ just threw up error messages and stopped.

Took me a while to get one of these robot vacuum and finally snagged one for Black Friday. Great deal as I have never seen it at a lower price. Setup was easy through the app and I can set it to vacuum even when I'm not at home. After 6 plus months the vacuum seem to have lost it's ability to go over rugs and other higher objects but that's the only problem I've encountered so far. Also replacement bags for auto dispenser are a bit pricey.
I still love that little device and saves me from another tireless chore

Great all-in-one robot vacuum and mop

The new ECOVAC DEEBOT OZMO N8+ is everything a typical homeowner should need in an automated vacuum and mop built into one machine. After removing everything from the box, registering and logging into an ECOVACS account via their smartphone application, completing the simple set up and charging the vacuum on the base, the DEEBOT was ready to start mapping the area in preparation of its first clean job. I found the mapping and navigation to be one of the most impressive features of the DEEBOT N8+ in comparison to the previous robot vacuums I have used. While using the ECOVACS app, I could see the DEEBOT was mapping out our kitchen and living room space over 30 feet away. We have a fairly large area to cover on our downstairs where the DEEBOT is located, about 1500 square feet, which includes multiple turns, table and chair legs and high-density rugs to map and navigate while cleaning. After the initial mapping, which took about an hour, the DEEBOT had to dock to charge again before starting its first cleaning job. While it was charging, I linked the ECOVACS account with my Amazon Alexa account to use voice control on the vacuum which is much more convenient than accessing the app on my phone.
During its initial clean, I immediately noticed many of the upgrades and differences compared to my previous robot vacuum. For starters, the DEEBOT is much quieter than my last vacuum, even on a higher suction setting, and still had as good, or better, suction power. Also, because of the enhanced navigation and mapping technology, the DEEBOT hugged corners around my walls and furniture like a sports car on the inside corner of a road race… perhaps not as fast. Speaking of speed, the DEEBOT cleaned at a reasonable pace, not too fast and not too slow in my opinion, to ensure a thorough cleaning. Our entire downstairs is waterproof laminate, except for a couple large dense area rugs, therefore I have opted to keep the reusable mopping pad installed most of the time before use and ensuring it is rinsed off after use. The only issue I found with having longer thread rugs is the DEEBOT thinks they are an obstacle instead of a rug therefore will not traverse from the laminate to the rug for cleaning and sometimes gets stuck during the attempting transition when the mopping pad is not installed. The two fan sweeping brushes sweep on each side push debris on the sides towards the middle of the vacuum. The microfiber mop attachment does a great job cleaning using just water in the tank and no solution to worry about and is easy to remove and fill. There is also an option to use disposable mop pads instead of the included reusable microfiber pad; the package I have came with 10 disposable microfiber pads.
Using the smartphone app, I could view an overview of the area the DEEBOT mapped, where it has already cleaned, the square footage of the area cleaning while in progress, the time the DEEBOT has been cleaning, battery life, cleaning preferences and much more customization option including the ability to add a virtual boundary. The app also allowed me to automatically clean on a schedule which was convenient to set and forget. The mopping function built into the vacuum is one of my other favorite features and allowed me to consolidate both a robot vacuum and robot mop into one device.
After cleaning, the DEEBOT automatically returns to the base and empties the debris it collected into a disposable bag located in the base; the package I have included two disposable bags. The debris emptying process is much louder than the actual cleaning, but only take a few seconds to complete. I have used the DEEBOT about ten times and the disposable bag is not even a quarter full. The battery lasted well over an hour on one charge and using a higher vacuum speed setting. I have kept the DEEBOT on a regular cleaning schedule and my floors have remained clean without putting thought into it.
In my opinion and comparing my experiences with some well-known previous model robot vacuums, the ECOVACS DEEBOT N8+ is easily the best robot vacuum I have had. It has everything you would need built into one machine and would recommend it to anyone in the market for a robot vacuum that does it all. Now I just need to convince the wifey to get one more for our upstairs.

Hi, Please kindly note that the Deebot N8+ has the carpet detective sensor, so the Deebot will avoid the carpet when it is under mopping mode. But once the user removes the mopping plate, the Deebot will trigger the vacuum mode only and it could work on the short wool carpet. My previous experience with vacuum robots was not very pleasant - they got stuck, cleaned unpredictably (cleaned where they felt like vs going where I needed them to), were noisy and required messy cleanup of the dust bin multiple times. Once I even had my old robot trip my home security system cause it moved the chair and I had some explanation to do with responding officers.
I was super excited to finally get to try the DeeBot! It has and improved surface mapping system (that turret sticking above the robot is actually a sensor array) and is able to build my home map very efficiently. Once the robot has collected enough data - it will actually recognize rooms as areas and let you pick the cleaning order. Included charging dock/emptying station takes the messy cleaning away, robot will automatically dock for charging and self-empty it's dust bin into a station's bag (which seems to last pretty long!). Once the emptying station bag is full - it's easy to swap it with a new one, no mess, no dust flying around. Robot's own dust bin is easily accessible, they even included a small cleaning brush to assist with cleanup!
Mopping - this is a very nice bonus to this machine as before I had to use a separate robot, now with DeeBot - it's all in one! Just fill up the water tank and attach microfiber mop. Robot will automatically recognize it's in a mopping mode and won't go over carpeted areas, it will only clean hardwood/tile surfaces. Water tank is large enough to last thru the whole cleaning!
Battery life - finally a robot that does not go to recharge 2-3 times during the whole cleaning!
Now my last point - does it get stuck? Yes, but very infrequently. My bad spot is the small rug in front of the front door so I have to remember to remove the rung (which allows robot to mop under :)).
Overall - I'm extremely happy with DeeBot - I can finally let the robot clean while I'm working from home and not 'babysit' it to make sure dust bin is clean, it's not stuck under the chairs or anything like it. Noise level is very low so it does not really disturb me.

I recieved this item in return of my unbiased review. Ill start by saying I like this alot more than I originally thought I was going to. With the canister bin for auto emptying bin attached to the charging base, this is a tad larger looking than most robot vacuums/mops.
This connects to either 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz wifi, the 1st time it vacuums the house it maps out all the room and each rooms obstacles. My favorite is it totally avoids bumping and banging into any trim or furniture in my home.
Besides being a great and powerful little robot vac it's also a wonderful robot mop, avoiding all carpet and carpeted areas while in mop mode. For the reasonable, but not cheap price of 599.99 you get quite alot compared to other robot vacuums, and this does everything so well and easy. This by far beats my Samsung robot vac since the Samsung did not have the mopping feature. This Deebot N8 is also so quiet compared to my previous Samsung vac.
I really like how this integrates with integrated with my Google Assistant and responds to commands like start vacuuming the house. Setup out of the box took about 20 minutes from opening the box, to 1st vacuum of my home with the Deebot. I really enjoy not having to empty the collection bin on the N8 after each use, instead after I would say 10 to 15 uses you remove the bag from the canister and replace it with a new one.
I would highly recommend this Ecovac robot mop/vacuum to anyone looking to simplify cleaning they're house, without the need to breakout a traditional vacuum each time .

With 3 boys in the house, I was looking for a good vacuum/mop robot. After numerous research I decided to give Ecovacs a try. I loved the self cleaning feature and the laser mapping. After giving this a try I found this Ecovacs Deebot n8+ having a few good features and several items that need improvement.
To start off, Some of the Pros:
The robot is Easy to set up. It Blends in well with the house and wall colors if any.
It definitely doesn't take a lot of space. Not too bulky. I Love seeing the house map develop the more I use it(laser mapping is incredible on the visible app.) It goes under the cabinets as most robots can't which is definitely a plus. I love that it has a pattern to properly clean the room. The Vacuum is one of the best features, cleans efficiently, and has a better suction than most robot vacuums. I love that I can block certain points in the house where the robot cannot go in. The Wifi set up is super easy and no issues getting started.
Unfortunately there are some Cons as well:
After a while, it tends to simply go back to its home charging station even if the battery is not drained. The Mop, needs major improvement - Barely washes the floor and leaves 3 streaks lines when cleaning. The Constant washing of the mopping pad is a nuisance. It Needs a bigger water tank compartment and as a suggestion a dirty tank to suck up all the dirty water separately. Otherwise, it's just dragging dirt all over the house. I used another mop robot right after and it managed to get so much dirty water out. It made me realize this mop wasn't doing much for my house. When self cleaning the vacuum out, it's extremely loud and startles my 1 year old to a point that if I'm across the house and he hears that noise, he does the puppy face and panicking.
There's no alert when the tank for water is low. Sometimes the robot has a very difficult time either finding its way back home or will sit next to the home base and spent 20 to 30 minutes smacking the base or wall nearby until it finally figures out how to get back home to be charged.
Not a big fan, constantly replacing the self cleaner bags. After investing so much money into this vacuum the last thing I want to do is constantly buy additional bags. Therefore for me, this personally didn't work out as much as I loved the quality of the vacuum and mapping out the house(the more it cleaned the more it has a smooth transition throughout the house). I was looking for a high quality mop however and this just wasn't it for my family. I would still recommend giving it a try and hoping this great company improves certain things in the future as the idea behind it is great!

Everyone wants a robot vacuum, but if you're like me and don't think they have evolved enough, you have not bought one yet. This robot vacuum has won me over in a big way. I thought I would not have enough room in my already cluttered home for the docking station. I did. Objection #1 gone.
I thought it would be too noisy, it's not. I can take a call with it running and hear just fine. Objection #2, gone.
I thought it would do a so-so job and I would need to vacuum again anyway. It does an excellent job. The only vacuuming I need to do now is under furniture that is too low (couches and such). Objection #3 gone.
I thought the mopping wouldn't be to my standards. The mopping is great too! You have the option of disposable pads or reusable/washable pads (both are provided for you to try). You have the option of low, medium, or high water output. Objection #4 gone.
My home has never been cleaner with 3 kids, there are always some crumbs or something in the floor or carpet. I usually break up the vacuuming and mopping over several days, so the house never seems clean all at the same time. This fixes that. You can vacuum daily and have that feeling all the time! I feel like I have a maid now!
Something it won't do automatically is, travel over carpet to mop another location. My work around for this is to let it get to the room with the moppable floor, then press the power button on top of the vac to pause it. Then place the mopping plate in, add water, and unpause. Then when it's done, pause it and remove the mopping plate and water so it can go back over the carpet. You are advised not to pick it up and move it. It has gotten stuck a couple times, no big deal. You can hear it telling you it needs assistance. The wheels are impressive and can lift half or lower half of the vacuum at a time. My thicker bath mat got stuck, but my shorter hair bathmats did fine with it. Cords definitely need to be put out of the path, it will catch them. If a curtain is too low, it will go around it. Under my bed is so clean now!! The empty station keeps daily maintenance low. The side brushes and main brush will need biannual or annual replacement. There are filters and dust bags and mopping pads to factor in also. Even with all those added expenses that will occur, I am loving the vacuum. The reusable mopping pads are around 6$ and the brushes are around $10, this vacuum is new and not alot of accessory packages available just yet. But I have seen others that include filters, brushes and side brushes. I almost bought one, but I double checked on their app via live chat and the side brushes were not compatible. That's another thing, the customer service is great! Map questions, parts questions, random questions, they are easy to access to ask. Additional info on features: There are vacuum suction levels you can choose, the higher levels will use up the battery quicker. Only water can go in the reservoir. You can put some cleaner on the pad itself though before you attach it. It recommends emptying the reservoir immediately after mopping (probably the extra water weight makes the battery get used up faster). You can set up do not disturb times. You can program different rooms and different days and times. You can do custom sections. If it runs low on batteries it will go back and charge, then resume where it left off.
When the package first arrived, I was intimidated about set up. The booklet was not as descriptive as I would have liked. I looked up N8+ review videos to see unboxing and set up. That was a tremendous help. The app has run well and I am thoroughly enjoying having a state of the art vacuum and mop in my home. It's worth it!!

We love this vacuum. It handles our husky's fur like a charm. It's easy to clean and the mopping feature works well. Having this vacuum to help is such a relief. The app is a little hard to navigate, and the robot has issues remapping the floor when you shuffle furniture.

Setting up the vacuum for first time use was a HUGE pain. You need to have it run through your whole house with no disturbances or interruptions. Don't you DARE touch it while it's doing the initial map, because even if it's in the LAST ROOM while mapping and you choose to pick it up, guess what — you have to do it all over again.
BUT, once your house is mapped, this vacuum is absolutely incredible. Smarter and more efficient than any Roomba I have experience with. The map customization is incredible, with abilities to block out area and customize the cleaning routines for each room.
I would give it a 5/5 if ONLY initial setup was a little easier. But it's worth it.
