Great Substitute for the Cost

If you are on a budget, then Encore Office Suite 3.0 is a great substitute for Microsoft Office Suite. The applications included are TextMaker (Substitute for Word), PlanMaker (Substitute for Excel) and Presentations (Substitute for PowerPoint). As another customer mentioned, initially you will have to get acclimated to the slight differences in the setup of the menu bar; other than that, the applications seem to have the same functionality as their equivalent by Microsoft. Thus far, I only have used TextMaker and PlanMaker and they have met my needs. I greatly appreciate that these applications can be opened with Encore or Microsoft software; thus, if you are able to use a computer with Microsoft software that is installed and active, then you can open/view/edit any of your files created with these applications in the Microsoft application equivalent. Tip: In order to see background spell-checking, you will have to go into the Spell Check settings and activate it. Overall, this product is worth the money!

When my computer crashed, I lost my excel that had come loaded on it......I only needed it for a few spreadsheets & didn't want to spend the money for a new excel program. This OfficeSuite was perfect!! Easy to load, reasonable & works perfect with my saved spread spreadsheets. Highly recommend for the casual user of spreadsheets. Have not tried the fonts, etc that also are available, but I am sure I will be happy with them also.
GREAT PURCHASE!!

Purchased a new computer and needed a word processor for letters, envelopes and occasional Avery cards. Microsoft ended support for my 2010 Office so I couldn't install my previously purchased office disc. Refused to pay an annual fee for a word processor so I purchased Office Suite 3.0. NO annual fee. ONE time only cost as was Office 2010.
Not tech savvy, but installed it via download per the included instructions, in lieu of the included disc. They emailed a key and had no problems unlocking the installation.
So far I am happy with the purchase and feel that it is simpler than MS Office.

This Suite provides ability to read and write in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint format. It also include a ton of fonts to use. It costs $30 and is a lot less than buying MS Office or MS 365. It's a no brainer.

OfficeSuite 3.0 performs most of the functionalities of the latest version of Microsoft Office 365. Since I own both the comparison was easy. They have similar menus and sub-menus, so switching can be very easy. Documents created by OfficeSuite 3.0 are compatible with Microsoft Office.
It appears that there are some glitches with OfficeSuite 3.0. For example, I could only see a portion of a table created in WORD, no matter what I tried. Another issue is speed: OfficeSuite 3.0 is slightly slower.
I have been using Microsoft Office since it came out. But now I feel it is overpriced. OfficeSuite 3.0 could take significant market share if marketed properly.

This is an inexpensive office suite that is suitable for home use. I have only used the word processing program, so I cannot comment on the other components e.g. spreadsheet, etc. It is not as powerful as Microsoft Office, but certainly suitable for most home activities e.g. letter writing, etc. At $30, it is also less expensive then the $150 for a one-time use Microsoft Office.

Overall am very pleased with this product
Pros: It is very affordable, much less than Word. Also it is easy to use for someone who is use to MS Word.
Cons: My laptop does not have a CD-drive and was a chore to get it downloaded and installed.
I would whole heartedly recommend this product.

Almost as good as Microsoft Office...and a whole lot cheaper! I have been paying a monthly fee to use Microsoft Office. With Office Suite 3.0 I can still open my old Word Docs and edit them, and it is compatible with Excel also. I haven't tried the "Presentations" yet, which should compare to Powerpoint, but I am confident that it will work as well. And all with NO monthly fee. Very happy with Office Suite 3.0.

It takes a few times using it, to learn where everything is, but it meets your needs to do newsletters, flyers and the like, without buying Publisher and having to do a yearly subscription. It loads up on your computer and it is yours for life.

We were looking for an alternative to Microsoft Office that did not require a subscription. It opens all documents and spreadsheets with no problems. There are differences and will take some getting used to but it is a good alternative.

VERY slight learning curve from Excel .... BUT I am able to open every excel spreadsheet that I had on my old unit. Everything! This is a one time cost program which is the main reason I purchased it. You can register it for free through the program. The icons are a little different from excel but not so different that you can't easily figure it out. I LOVE that I found this. Inexpensive and didn't have to recreate one ss to use. Easy install too.

This product is a life saver. I needed Word and PowerPoint for work and this has it. Best of all, no more subscription prices. You pay once and it’s yours forever. It comes with both a disc and an online download format. It is compatible with Microsoft office suite too so I can send items to my teammates and they can open and read it without having to convert it.

When I got my new laptop from Best Buy, Microsoft Office 365 was included, with a one year subscription. But I really don’t use the whole suite that much. The occasional letter I need to write, for example. And when the renewal came up, I couldn’t justify the cost for what I use it for. But Office Suite 3.0 has what I need, without a subscription, at a reasonable price. If you just need basics, this is a good software package.

Installed this program recently on our new HP laptop with Windows 10 operating system. Integration was favorable. Has all that we needed, plus complete options, and at a much more affordable price, and without contingent requirements ! "TextMaker" program has all the basic attributes of Microsoft "Word" but without extra complications. Has an extensive selection of fonts; many are the same as Microsoft's plus a large number of bonus fonts to select from for additional download. Margins can be adjusted by simply using cursor and dragging demarcation lines thus moving back and forth via tool bar options-settings is not required so it's simple and quick. Beginning installation was tricky :( . First pop up message did not stay displayed very long and required clicking on (..."Select"...) to initiate menus process. Not obvious and have to be quick. Took 3 times but once activated installation went well. Spreadsheet "PlanMaker" program is also user friendly and a valuable supplementary functionable feature.

this item was purchased b/c I just went back to school and needed a program to do essays etc. It was 30.00 so for the price its really nice. Its a little weird to get used to at first but will be good for any at home office procedures you want to do. I bought it b/c microsoft office has that yearly "fee". I'm not keen to paying over and over for something. For submitting to my online school. I did have to print then scan and save my pages with a PDF file. School runs on OFFICE and I'm locked out of that so this is a nice back up. It can also be installed on 5 computers. Thats what 6bucks per computer. NICE!

I have used Microsoft Office since it was released and have been very satisfied with its functionality. When buying a new personal laptop, I just couldn’t bring myself to pay that significant subscription cost for something I rarely use at home. I only use simple spreadsheets and documents on my personal laptop. This product was a perfect alternative and very inexpensive. Everything looks very close to the Office versions in functionality, although I have only used the spreadsheets and documents programs so far. I had no issues with installation either. Performance has been very good as well. I am very happy with this purchase. Definitely recommend this software.

The Office Suite works almost exactly like Microsoft. It takes a bit of getting use to, but for what I saved it was well worth it.
