Broke in less than a year

I bought this for my gaming laptop and not even a year later the large fan started making noise, and one of the little fans broke in half. It literally just sits on my desk, it has never been dropped or abused! Cheap junk, don't waste your money.

I was told this would work well with a game console but it didn't. I returned it.

    At least it's cheap

Thankfully, this was inexpensive or I would be returning this BEFORE looking for a replacement. 1) This item claims to hold up to a 19” screen. I have an ASUS ROG with a 17.3” display; my laptop overhangs the sides of the cooler by a full half inch, on all sides. 2) This item is advertised as “quiet”. If you remember what your computer sounded like in 1994, then yes, I suppose it could be advertised as “quiet”. 3) This item is advertised as having “extra USB capabilities”. Let’s be clear: there are exactly TWO USB ports on the back; it takes one USB port and provided cord to power and connect the cooling pad to your laptop, using a USB port. Therefore, the two used ports cancel one another out; the additional USB port on the back of the cooling pad CANNOT, by definition, be an “EXTRA USB PORT”, as it simply acts as an unregulated USB compatible port to “replace” the used USB port on your computer. Always be dubious of “extra” unregulated power sources; regardless of the power you put into your laptop (properly grounded vs. overloaded power outlet), your laptop is putting out exactly 6v/12v DC and 110v/60hz CONDITIONED (“clean/safe” power), out of EVERY USB and any other powered connection/hub. Just because your laptop is providing the cooler with “clean/safe” power, does NOT mean that the cooler has the proper capacitors, resistors and power gateways to GUARANTEE that you’ll have “clean/safe” power on its return USB outlet. 4) This item is flimsy; if you have an “above average” laptop for gaming, development, enterprise, etc., weight and stability might be a concern; it has proven troublesome for my ROG. 5) * Most Importantly *: Sadly, this item is VERY slippery; it is cheaply made and lacks proper “anti-stick” pads on the front; they are made of cheap foam – it does NOT stick to your laptop. The same goes for the feet on the front of the cooler; cheap slippery foam. There is ZERO anti-slip padding on the four optional raised feet in the rear. There are two tabs on the top-front of the cooler that flip-up to help keep your laptop in place; they are also covered in cheap, slippery foam; they also present a problem of not being adjustable or in my case, unable to stop my larger than average gaming laptop from sliding forward and off the cooler, if the legs are raised in ANY WAY. This item has ONE redeeming quality, one that will keep it in my family (it works fine for my teenager’s low to mid-grade laptops and flip/touchscreens 16”-17” (those laptops are however, are much thinner and lighter than mine)), is that it does ONE thing it advertises: it keeps your laptop COOL. I am running 64GB RAM, 2x512MB SSDs, 3TB HDD and a VERY high-end GPU with two i7 quad core processors; needless to say, my laptop runs HOT, even with its installed liquid cooler and duel exhaust (43-52* C (110-120*+ F), on average; 74* C is the furthest I’ve pushed it on overclock), it has previously scalded my legs through a “lap desk”. This cooler, even with its loud fans, cheap pads and construction, keeps the backside of my laptop very cool to the touch. Mean result testing of Battery/Power Saver, Moderate (plugged in) and High Performance (everything maxed), there is an overall cooling percentage greater than the laptop’s OEM cooling system of more than 61%. Congratulations on doing the one thing advertised on the box: COOLING.

I had high expectations from this product and it did fulfill it at first, but I’ve had it for a few weeks and it doesn’t work any more. Very regrettable.

Upon taking it out of the box and plugging it in, it made a loud rattling noise. The middle piece was loose/broken. I returned it.

    Excellent Quite 24/7

My old and new laptops fail to maintain tempt. I have 2 of these, 1 for each. They run [the fans that is] 24/7 now for about a year. They keep my core to about 40-50C, where they would drift to 70C+ without the fans. They are still quite, such that I have to lift the laptop every once a month or so to see if they are actually running. I have a rechargeable battery USB backup for my cellphone I power 1 with when I am outside, usually at the park bench. The fan draws so little current I can run without recharging for a week. 5 fans, backlit so you can see them run, speed control USB powered. I wouldn't recommend any other fan, in light of 24/7 operation for a year without a hitch.

    Great product, missing component

The fans are quiet, it cools great. It was missing the USB cord but a spare cord was available so there was no need to make a trip to the store.

    Cheap USB plugins

Worked great at first, cooled the laptop evenly and seemed to create good airflow. After a few months of light use, the usb port that powers the device has become loose and does not provide consistent power to the fans/pad.

    Lasted 2 months

I wish I could return this, since it worked fine the first two months I had it, and then the fans stopped moving and the lights dimmed. I am assuming there’s something wrong with the USB port, since I opened it up and nothing was wrong with the fans or the circuitry.

My laptop used to get rather hot pretty quickly. This has seemed to solve that problem. Great thing and it props up my laptop a bit. Great quality, easy to use.

    good, while it lasted...

i ordered this item based on the majority of good reviews. after i received it, i was already a little disappointed even before i used it. in the specs it wasn't very clear how it was powered. i was expecting a micro USB cable or similar. but it uses a type A to type A cable, which means it uses 1 of the 2 USB ports built into the stand. but i was able to look over that small problem. now i used this for my 2017 15 inch surface book and it worked great. for about a week and now the fans act like they don't get enough power and don't even move. so overall, don't get this stand, spend a little more to get something a lot nicer!!

    UNHAPPY

Very disappointed, this cooling pad was in a box that looked like it had been collecting dust for years, its usb ports were lose right out of the box, the fans did nothing for my laptop, not even one degree cooler. I have an Asus rog scar II no help to it at all, very unhappy. Would never recommend to anyone.
