Customers are saying

Customers highly value the excellent video quality and ease of installation of the Smart Wi-Fi Add-On Video Doorbell 2K. However, some users have noted that battery life could be improved, and motion detection sensitivity may need adjustment depending on individual needs and placement. The battery's longevity appears to be affected by the frequency of motion detection events. Overall, the positive feedback on video quality and ease of use outweighs the concerns regarding battery life and motion detection.

This doorbell works well. Easy to set up. I already have the Eufy Home base for my home security camera. So, this doorbell is just an add on device. Basically, this doorbell has very clear image. I used to have the Ring doorbell. This Eufy doorbell is very much better than the Ring I have. There is always a 5 seconds delay for this wireless device. It is happened to my Eufy security cameras, too. I don’t know if the wire device responses quicker. The battery is being drained so quickly because there is a lot traffic in front of the house. Just after 3 weeks, I have to recharge the battery. Therefore, it depends on how you set it up in order to maintain the battery longer. Since I have the Eufy security camera, I don’t need to detect any motions from my doorbell. So, I just set the motion detection off. It only detects when a person press on the doorbell button. It is much improved when I set up that way. After 3 weeks, it shows 96% of the battery uses.

I've had the doorbell for a while now and i've noticed that the battery life has gotten better over time. I have it set to the "Balance Surveillance" mode in Power Manager. I am able to get 3 months on a charge and there is a lot of traffic on my front door. According to the app, the last 28 days there have been 1193 total detected events and 611 of those have been saved, the rest have been filtered out by AI. I like how it ties to the door lock as well so if I have the camera on and a family member is at the door I can just flip a switch to unlock the door for them. I haven't had any issues with it at all and if I did it's because my wifi wasn't working but nothing to do with the doorbell itself. It also has two way voice communication so you can talk to the person before you answer the door, great for randoms coming up. It has a wide enough viewing angle that it detects people before they even get to the door. When amazon delivers something i feel a bit more assurance as people walking by know the camera is recording them. Overall, I would definitely recommend the doorbell, set up couldn't be easier and it's been very reliable. I do wish it displayed to a google hub or something similar, I don't think it has that ability at the moment.

    Works well as entire system

I purchased a Eufy security base with 2 Pro 2 cameras so this doorbell was an add on the system. It connected to the base easily and works just as consistently as my 2 cameras. Having the option of wired or wireless was helpful and it was easy to hook this up to my doorbell wiring. Both motion and doorbell press notifications work well and the app allows for lots of customization options and even works with my preexisting doorbell chime. Only issue I have is the range of motion detection. It can't detect much motions lower than 2-3 feet. I've had the neighbors kids run up on my porch undetected one time (I heard them & saw them thru the widow but no motion detection). Otherwise, package deliveries & motions have been caught with generally no problem.

Im very happy with this doorbell. The video is nice and clear. I get immediate alerts on my phone, and can speak through the doorbell speaker to anyone ringing the bell. The best part....no subscription fees.

The Eufy doorbell's video quality is great. Detection and notification alerts are fast. If you are installing this on an outdoor wall (e.g. made of stucco), you will need a hammer drill to create the hole to place the inserts. The battery life is acceptable. It lasts for about 2-3 months if you place this on your front door, and you have delivery coming in and you exit/enter through the front door every day. Not the 180 days (6 months) as advertised. To recharge, the doorbell has to be removed from the wall since the charging port is on the rear It would be better if Eufy designed the product in a way where you can charge it without having to remove the doorbell.

The quality is good and all with really nothing to complain except for one thing. The 2-4 seconds delay of the motion sensor is kind of a big bummer. When I watch the video again, the person at my door is already at the door and not approaching the door.

I love it as a door bell, but the battery only last 4 days. It says 365 day battery. The siren added for motion. Why couldnt it be less scary. It makes a horrible sound on motion video without ringing thr door. Needs some updates.

Battery life is rough if you live in a busy area.

I did quite a bit of research on doorbells and security cams before deciding to go with Eufy. We mostly went with it because we're not into the cloud and we like the concept of a home base. The video quality is great, we like the IR night vision. It's pretty snappy at sending motion alerts, although if you have it set to human detection only, it takes an extra 2-3 seconds. The setup was surprisingly easy, we setup two of their 2C cameras along with this. Overall we love the system and highly recommend it. The only downside is that setting up an activity zone and turning on human detection only makes it change when it starts recording and sends you a notification. The motion sensor senses all motion regardless. Unfortunately we live on a super busy street with a ton of cars and lots of people walking up and down the sidewalk. We get barely 2 weeks of use on the battery before it's dead. The cameras in our backyard are still about 85% after a month and that's even with one of them going off constantly when the afternoon sun casts a lot of shadows (we have those set to record all motion). We're looking into running wires through a window or getting the Eufy solar panel because it's just not practical to have the doorbell dying that often. Everything else about this entire system is 5-stars for us, but the battery life estimate is SO off that it's hard to rate it that high.

Pretty happy with the eufy doorbell. I would say getting the 2K is definitely worth it. Anything with lower quality would make it less useful as a security device. I also think this is better than the wired version in that in can be installed both ways (wired or battery). Hopefully eufy will start streamlining their product lineup a little, because they have been all over the place with very little consistency.

I'm glad I chose to go with this doorbell. I initially tried the Ring doorbell, but wasn't happy with how it seemed to miss a lot of motion activities. But the Eufy is significantly better, and picks up all motion.
