After a little bit of fidgeting, to get everything to work, my new Friday Lock is now installed and working beautifully.
I've been looking at getting a smart lock for a while, and Friday is the perfect fit. It has already made life easier for me, as I literally forgot my keys on the second day of having it installed. Friday opened my door, and I realised, that I don't NEED my keys anymore. Welcome to the future.
Oh yeah - and it looks beautiful on my door.

When I first saw this lock, I was extremely excited. A good looking lock with excellent functionality? Where do I sign up?
After TWO YEARS of patiently waiting (hey, I know how these things go!), I finally received the lock and visually it looked to be everything that I had ordered… and that’s where the trouble started.
I installed the lock on my front door. The installation instructions and online videos are a JOKE, and of almost no help at all, but I managed to install the lock. I plugged in the battery and connected it to the app, and held my breath as I set out to lock and unlock my door via the app (Apple Homekit to be more specific… because the app is terrible and extremely unresponsive). Upon tapping the LOCK button, the motor whirred… and NOTHING, the lock did not MOVE. I manually locked the deadbolt and attempted to UNLOCK using the app, again the motor whirred and NOTHING. I could have messed up installation, so I re-installed the lock, re-calibrated (this happened 3-4 times) and nothing.
At this point, I’m frustrated, but hey, maybe it’s the door I’m attempting to install the lock on. No problem, I’ll try it on a different door. I went through the same process and the SAME issues existed (motor whirs, but lock doesn’t move). I’m in a building that is roughly 10 years old, so the locks and door frames are all stable, I find it hard to believe that I have TWO doors that are incompatible with the lock, so I reach out to support.
Support started off nice enough, but was extremely useless. Their “solutions” included watching the online videos for installation, re-installing the lock, and pretty much every other thing that I had already tried. This was all done over a period of about a month… WHY? Support only seems to work Monday to Friday from 9-5… that’s a huge problem when you must attempt to troubleshoot the lock before sending a response or e-mail back! So about 1 e-mail a day is what I would see from support (and never more than two sentences!)
Finally, they suggested some new screws (maybe the ones I currently had the door were too big?), I use those to install the lock, and NOTHING. The exact same issue I had before. At this point, I had enough, I politely requested a new lock or a refund. I was granted a refund and shipped the lock back immediately. I was told the refund would process 1 business day after the lock was received, the refund took ONE WEEK. The refund also was not a refund, but instead a PayPal payment THAT HAD A TRANSACTION FEE TAKEN OUT. What kind of refund is this?
I really wanted this lock to work and tried really hard to make it work, but at the end of the day this product (and accompanying app) are NOT ready for consumers. In addition to all that, customer support is TERRIBLE, so if you have ANY problems at all, there is little hope of getting it resolved in a timely manner. I really hope this review helps anyone considering buying the lock!

I just got my smart lock! Not looking to a few days delay I am very satisfied with what I received. I even managed to install the lock myself! We are anxiously waiting for the updates to get even more features! Thank you for a great smart thing - it is a great addition to my home cleaning robots! Love smart living!

I purchased this for my apartment. It was extremely easy to install. There was an issue with the server, however, reached out to the company via Facebook and they responded quickly. The next day I reset the lock and it synced without any issues!!

What a nightmare. Intuitive no way. App quality horrible.
This lock does not work. Support never answers. Had to buy a new door lock to do this and still didn’t work. Reset and removed 75 times.
I am so angry I can’t stand it.
If you have high blood pressure stay away. Heck anyone stay away.
Do not buy unless maybe you have a brand new built home where there is no shifting of building and you have to actually put any pressure to the process of locking a door. Which most people should be.
Had Kevo and it was old but never once had a problem locking and unlocking.

I purchased this smart lock for my home just before Christmas! I had issues with the lock working with my existing KwikSet dead bolt. The holes would not line up properly, I followed the instructions to a "T" but could not get it to line up(In fact the printed instructions tell you to use a different set of holes as the online instructions, but either way I tried both neither would work. I started working with Friday's tech support in January and just gave up working with them a few weeks ago - yes a few weeks ago(7 months later)! They constantly wanted me to re-install the lock and send pictures and videos. At one point they did send me a new plate with some modifications to the holes, and that did allow the screw holes to line up correctly. Now the lock constantly jams in the locked position. They would request new pictures and videos each week - which not sure why nothing has changed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the lock at least 50 times, even had to setup a dropbox account to get the constant request of videos to them. I finally just gave up on it as I am tired of taking my old lock off and putting this one back on to send them a video and then reinstalling the old lock again. Now I am frustrated because it is beyond the return period of this lock, and I am unable to use it! So I spend $200+ on this for no reason! I would highly recommend on staying away from this lock!!

I bought 2 Friday smart locks. They are so far such a disappointment. They look great have a small fraction of the functionality promised. When coming home FRIDAY ASSIST (using geo-fencing to automatically unlock your door when you arrive home) works less than half of the time before I've already had the chance to enter using keys. It does not work at all to lock my door as I leave. Aside from that, almost all the functionality promised during the Indiegogo campaign is absent. The is no option to remotely lock or unlock the door and I cannot give limited access to others (only unlimited) which is simply a huge security issue. The pairing process is a nightmare. I've paired and unpaired nearly ten times in the 12 hours that I've had this lock. The iPhone app is amateurish at best - it hangs, it quits suddenly, it's not well laid out. After waiting two years for development, I really expected a product that was out of the beta stage, but that's clearly not what we got. This never should have shipped until it worked seamlessly. Very disappointed.

Wanted to love this design and innovation but could not bond with this lock! First off it is a pain to install and then once installed it is a pain to set up and the design may look cool but if the app stinks and the lock stinks, who cares if it looks cool? Go with August locks, their redesign is pristine and works well with Homekit and Google and even Alexa. Skip this garbage!

We bought this around Christmas time of 2017. Installed it and after few tries it broke our deadbolt. Returned it and not we have to buy a New lock unless we get another Smart Lock with Deadbolt. Worst Product Ever!!!

The product installation was simple and straight forward. The app connection was quick and easy. Their customers service responses were fast and helpful. The only problem was this device advertises that it is both Bluetooth and WIFI based. I have come to find out that is for only Apple users. After talking with customer service they clearly told me that the wifi feature only works with apple users that had a apple tv. This was a shocking and disappointing discovery, not worth the price for only a Bluetooth connected smart lock. There are other options that offer the same connectivity for Android users at a significant cheaper price.

It is a great looking lock compared to all the other smart locks available, but it proved to be unreliable. More than half of the time it wouldn't connect remotely via Homekit... sometimes even while at home it wouldn't connect. Ultimately the lock was returned for a refund.
