This unit replaced a 8000 btu unit that was too small for size of room . I am blown away how quiet it is compared to the smaller one I had in there before not to heavy to install only 67 pounds would highly recommend it cools 640 square feet compared to 550 square feet for other 12000 btu units it is smaller which a 1/2 inch can make a huge difference depending on your window as was case for me lighter and quieter . This is my third frigidare ac unit if you find something that works why chance it with a funky off brand bargain unit buy it

The set-up to operational was less than 30 minutes. It cools area of approx 25 x 20 very quickly. The cool air trickles into one small bedroom somewhat as long as I close a second smaller bedroom door and close a bathroom door and also use an oscillating fan to blow the air. It removes some of the humidity but doesn't "cool" the bedroom so I may need a smaller unit in there. I like having the remote feature; it works from across the room and is user friendly. It's not overly noisy with the AC fan at a slow/medium speed but is a bit noisy at a faster speed. I would, however, recommend making sure your circuit breaker can handle this unit capacity for smaller/older homes. When I first began running this unit in my nook area, within 45 minutes my 60 inch Samsung plasma TV in my living room began making a horrid grinding noise and had partial loss of color/picture that never stopped (and which my landlord did not offer to repair though it was last appropriately and totally maintenanced 2 years ago and one I have never had any issues with) even after not running the unit. Since then, an electrician who works for the landlord acknowledged "TVs can be sensitve to this overload" installed a new outlet and rerouted the circuit breaker to accomodate it so I am hoping no further issue will occur once i get another big screen TV. I do believe the issue was NOT related to the AC unit itself, but again, would caution anyone to find out where all of the power runs through your home - especially for an older home - before beginning to run any AC unit. Overall, the AC unit has good value for the price and I would still recommend it because of its quick cooling capability.

It's a little louder than I like but it runs non stop all summer for two summers and shows no sign of giving up. Keeps my living room very comfortable. I use a fan to direct it to the other end of my home which is larger than recommended but keeps cool as well.

I bought this unit short notice and was happy with the price for that much cooling power. Similar devices were hundreds more and not as compact. It easily cools my bedroom and a large living area in the next room. It will make a small apartment into an ice box. My only reservation is that it's drainage spout is located in the center of the bottom of the unit. (As opposed to the rear of the square housing as on most units I've had. They usually come with a plastic spout you attach after installation or a small rubber hose.) The humidity which is removed from you house accumulates in the bottom of the unit and hits the fan and splatters around a bit before it drains. Most units need to be angled downward out the window to drain because the drain is in back, this drain is in the middle of the unit and drains less if angled. I know cause I tried both positions. It's a bit odd and the water dries up quicker than it drains. But all in all it works well.

This is a good A/C for the price. It has an economy setting and a remote control for extras. It is cooling our 950 sq. ft. home in the hot, Arizona desert and is doing a great job.

For the price, this product went above and beyond on keeping my living room cool. Remote control makes it easier to control and it's simple. The only bad thing is that if you are sitting near it, it would be very hard to here things because its loud

I bought this AC at a great price. I live on the top floor of an apartment building (6th) and It gets very hot up here. This AC on energy mode, cools my living room, Kitchen which is adjacent to the living room and my entrance hall way, my bathroom hallway and the entrance to my bedroom really quick. We have to run and turn it off! It is not loud and it is great! I use the timer often and the remote is a great feature as well.

We bought this to cool our bedroom when our central a/c went out. It worked great and kept the room at our desired comfort level with the various controls. It even helped keep the rest of the house cool. The remote control was nice and kept it on the nightstand. Now that we have a new a/c unit, we have put this unit into a mobile home rental for the master bedroom and it works great for that, too. Very pleased.

Great air conditioner! I was skeptical, but it really does cool the entire first floor of my house. I set the thermostat during the day so that when I get home from work, the house is a comfortable temperature without having the unit run non-stop all day running up the electric bill. I had hoped it would be quieter.

The house I purchased this for is approximately 1700 square feet and it keeps the majority of it very cold. It also runs quietly and doesn't disturb us while we're looking at television. Excellent price for this size air conditioner.

I bought this for my mother and she loves it. It is easy for her to control and it cools her small space perfectly. Great protection for her and her cat from the Southern heat.

Purchased this AC unit for an 850 SF apt and it gets the job done quickly- economy feature is great for keeping the place cool while you're out. After looking into several units I decided to purchase this one despite the warning about the installation because it seemed to be the quietest and most effective- the reviews were correct the install is a pain, there are several parts you need to put together but it's worth it once the unit is in!

This unit was really easy to install and keeps my whole 880 sq ft house cool. I didn't find it any noisier than other units. I'm totally satisfied with this purchase.

Excellent air conditioner with great cooling power. Love the economy feature that senses air temp and shuts off when set temp is achieved. Then periodically cycles fan to circulate air. Once it starts warming up a few degrees, the cooling unit kicks in again and adjusts the air temp. Also, you can set a timing cycle to run at a higher temp when you are sleeping, and drop the temp again during active daytime hours. Worth the money. Cools 1/2 the house with a smaller 6000 but unit cooling the master bedroom. Keeps us comfortable even during the heat wave we are having with 90+ degree days.

This model cools a large area and does it reliably. The functions are easy to operate with the remote or on the unit. It is energy efficient.

Overall I like this ac it really cools a big part of our house and the remote. Is nice.

3 years ago I bought the same model, still working hard but since my home is 1275sq , we were only able to keep living room and kitchen cool with all the doors on the rooms (4) and bathrrom closed. Decided to purchase the same unit and place it in one of the rooms, wow!! We now can walk in and out of any room and still be nice and cool....
