THE GOOD: This unit is absolutely quieter and has a smaller footprint than any other portable unit we've ever had. Takes up less space than rectangular floor units. The window slider device is unique and far supererior (neat, no gaps, easy to move unit from room to room).
THE BAD: My unit is defective -- my guess is a bad internal thermostat. It blows cold but almost never cools a 168 sq foot bedroom lower than 75 degrees -- even right now (evening with an outside temp of only 78 degrees and the thermostat set to 72). We wake up every night sweating.
THE UGLY: Best Buy will NOT accept a return after 14 days, even a defective unit. Frigidaire tech-support INSISTS that Best Buy will replace the unit (but they won't). Frigidaire is willing to send out a replacement -- but only if I disable this unit and send them a picture (cut power cord). That leaves me with disposal costs for the old unit AND A THREE WEEK WAIT for the replacement. I
didn't spend nearly $800 on a Frigidaire to go 3 weeks in July/August with no air conditioning!
I will consider updating this review (or submitting a new one) IF/WHEN my issue is resolved. Right now, I'm very disappointed in Best buy AND Frigidaire.

This unit would not even cool my 200 sq ft bedroom below 78 degrees in the evening when it was cooler outside at 76. The airflow is very poor and it barely seems to move air around the room. When it was over 103 outside during the day, it would barely cool my bedroom to 88. I only used it for a few days and the clean filter light came on. I checked the filter and it was perfectly clean. My 8000 BTU window unit would get my room ice cold...this thing was luke warm at best. I returned it.

It works well enough and is simple to install. But it doesn’t push as much air as I was hoping for. I had to buy a second window unit to cool off my place. And at half the price but it seemed to work just as well as the Frigidaire.

I have now owned and used THREE of these air conditioners, one air conditioner each of the last three summers because each unit has only lasted one season or less. This third unit, which was a free replacement from Frigidaire for the first air conditioner which stopped working after the first summer, ran about 10 times and now has stopped working like the first two units did after one season each. I'm sure if I called customer support, and jumped through all the hoops, I might possibly receive a free replacement unit, but I would not take another free unit if they paid me to take it. Frigidaire should be ashamed of themselves for the poor quality of their products. Three air conditioners over the course of 2.25 summers, how disgraceful!!!! .

The unit does cool off the area it is in but it takes longer than a window to get to the set temp. The biggest drawback is the cost to run it. The electric bill doubled.

A window that faces north is best because it is shaded most of the day. * External house shading with trees, plants or awnings will help reduce the air conditioner’s workload.

Heavy and Doesn't Cool Space

The unit is heavy so if you're trying to get it up stairs you'll need help. It says it will cool 550 sq ft but that's not the case. The temp will drop maybe 5 degrees, but that's it. I would probably work best in a space smaller than 550 sq ft. The window attachment isn't very long. You have to use the foam stickers included or you'll have a little space between the window and the plastic attachment. It's not a one size fits all.

I bought this unit because I had WiFi capability and worked with Alexa. However, I have only had it operating for 2 weeks and already it is malfunctioning. The operating buttons on the unit itself will not work anymore. Yet somehow I can sometimes still turn the unit on with the phone app when the machine feels like working. The remote only works occasionally. The temperature control setting resets on its own back to 60 degrees as the goal temp, which you can’t change with the phone app, the remote, or manually, and then unit then proceeds to beep loudly every 5 minutes telling you to change it. When the unit does actually allow use of the phone app, you can change the goal temp. But it slips back to 60 degrees every time. It’s way too expensive to malfunctioning like this. Very poor quality.

with the wifi not ever working you only get half the machine you pay for. 3 years of customer support and they cant even help. if the settings you get connected to wifi isn't important to you then sure pay extra of hundreds of dollars for a gimmick that Frigidaire cant even fix.l
