Garmin vs. others
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased new Amazfit T-Rex2, returned it for this which I purchased on 27Jun. Aside from the display (T-Rex is simply awesome) the Instinct 2 is a far better choice especially the ecosystem (Amazfit has a ways to go on that). You spend more on this watch than a lot of others out there BUT this watch is fantastic at what it does. I’ve also owned the Samsung 4 watch, the Fenix 6 & FitBit Charge 5. My opinion is that this new Instinct 2 is a best bet by far. Again my only negative would be the small font on the display, but my reasons for getting a watch like this isn’t just for the display, it’s mainly for solid functionality, and this one has that area covered very well. Not to mention it’s very rugged, so I can leave it on regardless of what I’m doing. The health snapshot, HRV and V02 Max is outstanding (very accurate not gimmicky). Lastly the watch lasts about 11 days when fully charged and SP02 is activated while sleeping which is really impressive in my experience. I only upgraded from the Fenix 6 because I wanted the latest and greatest sensors (that’s a great watch too). On my picture I included an area towards the top of the watch has a small bit of the plastic screensaver I bought on Amazon coming off a little. Good luck deciding, hope this helped.

The Ultimate Fitness Sidekick
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been wearing it for about 3 weeks now and have done multiple gym workouts, outdoor and treadmill runs and 1 swim. It is a perfect smart watch with a terrific battery life - 3 weeks with a few 30+ minute GPS runs outside and 4 times a week at the gym for 90+ minutes in workout mode, then it was still showing 4 days of battery left. Physical buttons is a huge advantage in tracking workouts - I don't even have to look at my watch to start/end a set. The monochrome display is another advantage for me, because I did not want to wear another phone on my wrist and charge it every day. You can customize one of the standard watch faces, as well as download a custom one from Garmin connect, or even create entirely your own - just google it, there is a website for that. I ended up customizing one of the stock watch faces, as it already has everything I wanted. Phone notifications work flawlessly and are fully customizable. The watch can either vibrate, beep or both at the same time - this can be changed in settings for each type of notification. There are very useful shortcuts you can set up to holding two buttons that are across from each other, for example, I set up iPhone music controls, alarm clock, stopwatch and timer. I hold GPS + Down to access one, GPS + Up to access another etc. Highly recommend this watch if you want something that's not distracting, but at the same time able to do more than just show time and be an awesome fitness companion.

Sports watch review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The battery lasts a reasonably long period of time. Easy enough to use. The GPS works really well, in tandem with the connect app on my phone. I use it with my open water swim team and we compare our speeds and distances. The overall useablility is very good. Switching between sports is pretty seamless. The strap is good. Can get a little tight. But it has a double clasp which is really useful. I lost a Fitbit to the sea because it could easily come loose.

Just what i needed!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for the best battery life, and this watch knocks it out of the park compared to most! It profiles my fitness readiness by tracking a dozen different things and takes a lot of stress away from having to manually input data onto my phone after runs or workouts ect. It's much more accurate with gps & tracking than my phone is unless you go inside a building. I like the silicone band quality as well as adjustability to get it right where you want. There is so much more that I could say about it but garmin did it right and it is a great watch!

Great watch for training
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a moderately competitive cyclist on a budget and got this watch to track my training and replace my Fitbit Charge 5 that died. Overall I love it. The battery life is great, but depends on the amount of GPS use. I get about 15 days while doing 6 hours of GPS activities per week. All the visuals are very customizable and it has basic smart phone notifications which are also customizable. I don't miss the color display or touchscreen on my Fitbit at all. The buttons are easier and work with with gloves on. The features in the Garmin Connect app are a huge improvement over Fitbits app especially the Training readiness, Training status, and V02 Max capabilities. I didn't give it 5 stars because the V02 Max and FTP capabilities will not compute without a Power Meter (you can get V02 max from walking or running). Cycling Power can be computed from GPS data (Strava does this), while this is not as accurate as a power meter it would be plenty good enough for someone like me (and 90% of other cyclists out there) this just seems like an attempt to sell power meters. I've also used worn it in the pool, shower, washing hands etc. without any issues even pressing the buttons under water. For comfort, I did think it was big at first but I got used to it after a week or two. I now wear it basically 24x7.

Great watch for trekkers and hikers!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for outdoors and indoors! Great battery life - up to 3 weeks! Downside - poor visibility in low light, but you can press a switch to see the display. You cannot receive or make calls from watch. Not your usual fashion statement watch - it's an outdoors fashion statement watch!!

Great Purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased about a month ago and I am really happy with it. It’s comfortable and it tracks all activities and health status. I use to use an Apple Watch which would require me to charge every other day. Now only having to charge it once is awesome. While still getting a little more than the Apple Watch. I’m an out doors guy and not having to worry about messing the watch up is a huge confidence in being able to do all the outdoors stuff. Being able to get fast coordinates and being able to see what your watch is showing with out the sun interfering is also a huge plus for me.

Great purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the simplicity of this watch. I ditched my Apple Watch for the Garmin so I wouldn’t be distracted during my workouts. I love the long battery life. I really love being able to track my sleep with this watch as well!

Awesome watch please read!!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had fitbits, and the most recent samsung galaxy watch4 active. And i have to say i was skeptical to move over from the watch 4 to a garmin, and im glad i did. The samsung watch is a great watch no doubt. But as far as FITNESS the garmin instinct 2 is a game changer. The app is awesome. The watch has so much functionality and its very accurate and easy to wear its not bulk not crazy heavy. I highly recommend this watch !!

This will improve your life
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only reason i bought the watch was to see progress in my life… I was miserable, barely active, and was a chronic insomniac. As i improve my health and sleep, the watch tracks the daily improvement. I got to see my growth. After seeing the daily numbers from the watch (sleep score, step count, heart rate, etc) improving everyday, I became hook on the good habits. It became a game of doing better the next day and the next day. You get it. So if you are looking to improve your overall life and see the improvement on a daily basis, get a garmin. If you are atruggling to stick to habits because you cannot see growth, get a garmin. It will change your life.

Accurate, no frills. Great battery life
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely love how this one is designed. Utilitarian, designed for adventure with a great battery life and all survival features. Of course it might be a bummer that it doesn't have Garmin pay and LED color display. But it also comes with a 14+ day battery life. The accuracy is above question. I don't think I'll need another watch for a long time now.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this watch very much, except the band. It breaks me out. Put an elastic band on, now i love it. Just not pleased with band. Battery life seems reasonable, gps usage drastically impacts

Great for Spartan, Tough Mudder, and OCR
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this watch! Great for heavy duty and rugged rough hands, and most all the tracking features of the more expensive models. Performed really well at a mud run obstacle course, despite muddy and wet conditions.
