This GE microwave is a fantastic addition to my kitchen. It heats evenly, is very quiet, and the stainless steel finish looks sleek and modern. I built my house in 1999 and this unit makes the third I have installed over that time period. The Expected Useful Life (EUL) of this item is typically considered 7 years although the original GE Profile Space-Maker lasted 11 and the previous GE Profile Space-Maker only went a bit over 6 years thus the EUL is a very subjective estimate. This new unit was on sale and it cost me $179.99, which is a good price. It has more than sufficient settings and features and it seems to be relatively sturdy although the general build quality does not seam as robust as the two previous units. The door has a hollow plastic feel to it when if shuts. However, so far so good! It installed fairly easily into the mounting points the previous unit had without much correction although the screws did not match up completely and some new drilling had to occur. It is the SS that is smudge resistant and that is a nice feature for this appliance or any of your other stainless steel appliances. I prefer black which was what the original motif was but I was overruled by the powers that be! If you can vent the exhaust to the exterior I strongly recommend that as the recirculating methodology does not clear sufficiently on this unit or any unit, in my opinion and the opinion of ASHRAE. If you do vent inside you should change or clean you filters every six months. Beyond that for a buck 79 it is the bomb. Good luck

So far so good! Easy to use, sleek, a little heavy to install but it was the perfect fit for our space and a really good price. It's got options without being overwhelming.

This is a nice sized microwave and the price was perfect for what we were looking for. It fits nicely above our stove and looks great with the separate trim kit that we purchased. It's easy to use and functions great.

Needed a replacement for our microwave that died. First challenge was to find one the same size, and this fit. The reviews looked good, and it was on sale at a great price. I also wanted the big turntable; not all of them have one as large. We decided on this model in stainless steel. Love it so far, especially the express settings. It has enough features without having more than we need. It's also very quiet. It took less than half an hour for our appliance guy to install. Only negative is that it doesn't seem to be fingerprint resistant, but not a big deal. Still a 5-star purchase.

After 12 years my whirlpool microwave bit the dust. I'm very analytical and research things to death. This GE caught my eye after a quick price check, perfomance, and reliability google search. $100 sale price at best buy is a win win situation. Love best buy with their satisfaction guarantee! I have one of five children still at home. My stuff gets well use. I'm happy to say that this microwave outperforms most. - quiet - lots of options - great job on regular operation and defrost mode Only negative is the display is hard to read for an old guy like myself. On the flip side... now that i know the general location of the well used bottons...the cool look outweighs the effort of turning on the light at night to see the display. Cool rules! I might black out my headlights on my beamer...not! I'm a general contractor... installation is basic. Overall I'm very pleased! Hope it goes the distance!

Had GE for 15 years so my comparison is to the old one. Bought this one about 2 weeks ago Positive: Much quiter than old one Works as well or better than old one While a little smaller fits well and looks good Geek Squad was very good Negatives: You must push the key pad much harder for response (worse problem to me, affraid key pad cover is going to crack over time) Pad is not lighted Time light lights up the whole room at night have trouble making out the time due to the size of the colon (;) between the numbers

Pros. Ease of use, quiet operation, and sleek appearance at an affordable price point. I love the convenient express cook buttons and the ample interior space. Cons. I have complaint with the dim, stovetop light could be better (non-LED) and plastic parts doesn't feel as a good material, particularly the door handle.

I got this because our other microwave broke & this one was relatively cheap compared to some of the more expensive brand models. I feel like this microwave probably works better than the one we used to have. It's easy to use and it looks nice. The installation was pretty easy.

The GE 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave was very easy to install, looks good (it matches our other stainless steel appliances), and works great. It has all the features one would expect on a microwave oven. Although using this microwave oven is straight forward, I highly recommend reading the instructions (who ever does) to discover some hidden features. For the price, the GE 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave is a bargain.

The microwave is great! We had to replace our other over the range GE microwave. It’s as expected and an improvement to the previous model of 6 years ago. The bottom is a little different. The main difference we found was it is quieter and easier to install. Highly recommend this over the range option for the features and the price point.

Great price! Price shopped and Bestbuy had the best price. Bought online and they had it ready super fast. I couldn’t have ask for a better experience. As far as the product, it’s great although the control board went out within the first 3 months. Other than, it works great and was easy to install.

Microwave works fine. It is not quite as sturdy as the previous GE model that we had. Door sounds a little shallow when you close it, but otherwise there are no problems.

Heats great, runs quiet, looks nice, fits perfect in the hood opening over the stove and is easy to use. The best thing you can say about a microwave is that it works without calling attention to itself for whatever reason. It doesn't sing, dance or play a fiddle but I didn't want it to do that anyway. It does do what I want it to do and does it well.

Was easy to install, did not take long time and has worked very well so far. It was also in stock in the store which made it easy for me to pick up.

This is an exact match and replacement to a previous microwave. I'm so glad Best Buy had it. It's basic, easy to use, and the color matches other items in my kitchen.

Good microwave. Looks nice up in our kitchen. Fairly easy to install once we had the right tools together. Did have to get new washers for the bolts at the top because the holes in the bottom of our kitchen cabinets were too large for the screws. A lot quieter than our old microwave and a great price!
