Very much so pleased! Washes are quiet and washes are very efficient! Would recommend to anyone in the market for new washer!

Within a little of 1 year of having this washer, the drain pump stopped working, and the inverter motor burned up. This machine is full of cheap garbage parts that don’t last, and is a complete waste of money.

Failed after 14 months of light to medium use

I purchased this 14 months ago, the control board has already gone bad and I’m stuck with a large repair bill that’s half the price of a new machine. I’m 2 months out of warranty with either having to pony up for the repairs or buy a new machine. $1000 down the drain. Avoid GE like the plague.

Washer was delivered & set up. When spinning, washer shook so bad it would bump in to the dryer. The company came back out but could not get the washer to stop shaking when spinning. We had to return the washer.

The only “complaint” I have is the sound level when this thing is really running fast. But, that’s not a deal breaker for me. No such thing as a silent washer! It cleans very well and I love the large capacity smart detergent dispenser. Fill that sucker up and then you just throw laundry in and press go until you need to refill the dispenser. One less messy step when doing laundry and there’s no tray to clean out. It can also control my dryer but I don’t really use that functionality. Though if you were very short or you had young laundry helpers that would be a great feature if you had these stacked, the controls are pretty high up for the dryer when stacked. Love this combo!

Third attempt to leave an honest review -- first two were not published for no discernable reason. The machine doesn't clean well at all -- i have to wash things two or three times because it doesnt use enough water. I had an old crappy too loader that would wash everything well the first time -- even towels with dog urine. If you put a single towel with dog /toddler urine on it expect to wash the item three to four times before the urine is removed. Basically this machine wets the clothes and tumbles them around wet making a slapping noise. There is no sloshing of water like you see at a laundromat. You need at least a small pool of water to clean clothes and this will not allow you to choose the water level and lightly mists them. How is this energy efficient if i have to run the unit three times for a normal load to clean the clothes? Small debris gets stuck on the back wall where the back wall meets the sides and you cannot remove it. I dont know why there is a crevice there for debris to get stuck in that encircles the entire back wall. Absurd. The light inside the machine started flickering after less than 20 loads and is now like a strobe light. Thing is like 300 pounds and i cannot figure out why -- it's a hollow machine, but forget about being able to move it an inch. Bottom line -- doesnt get clothes clean. Hardly used it for the first month i had it and missed return window although i cannot imagine being able to return it being it is the weight of a small truck. Biggest buyers remorse of my life. Again, this is my third attempt to leave an honest review -- first two were mysteriously not published without explanation.

Purchased when we moved into our new house. After 2.5 years it stopped initiating the rinse/spin cycle resulting in clothes still being soaking wet and and a pool of water sitting in the bottom. Thankfully we had the warranty and when they came out they said the motor went out on which was causing a grinding noise and causing it to stop mid cycle. Was able to get it replaced. Would not purchase this set again.

This exact machine broke 15 months after purchase the door was locked and was unable to manually release it when I called GE to request assistance they couldn’t help me so after hiring a contractor, he advised me that the motherboard has caused the lock to fault and was nothing that he can do. It was a total loss do not buy this product. It’s big it’s beautiful, but it will break down 15 months after I realize that after reading several reviews

Purchased at Best Buy. Washing machine ran 14 months. Going to cost $1000 to fix. Would not recommend purchasing these GE washing machine or dryer. Best Buy would not help … never purchasing for Best Buy again. Rip off as quality is poor for price.

broken promises

i just want to say, don't trust anything Best Buy says. i ordered this washer (GFW655SSVWW) almost ta month ago with a delivery date of 9/23. they called me 3 days before and rescheduled it to tomorrow, 9/30. today, they rescheduled it again to 10/24, and their only comment was 'so sorry, let us know if you want to cancel.' I could have gone to Lowes or Home Depot for the same price (but tried Best Buy because of their longer return period), and will now try to do that, whatever happens, this continued string of broken promises is absolutely unacceptable. don't let this happen to you!

Don't rely on delivery

Good luck with the delivery of this product. We have a tight spot and the delivery drivers refused to do any lifting to get it over a countertop. They suggested through the window but didn't help us with it. The contractor, myself, and my 67-year-old father could lift both pieces through the window. It took us 15 minutes. I don't understand why 2 young guys can't do this type of work. No one wants to work anymore.

Very disappointed! Washer stopped working 19 months after purchase!
-Washer stops mid-cycle; and /or
-Doesn't drain water from clothes completely; and/or
-Water collects and clothes are soaking wet!
