Fits the cabinet
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this model to replace a GE 2.2 cu.ft microwave. The original GE lasted 8 years and installed as a set with a wall oven. An add-on trim frame made the microwave match the oven. The original frame would not work with the new microwave which was an extra expense. The chrome door of the original was not available as a choice with the new model so we elected for dark gray door. The microwave and the trim frame have a cheaper, flimsy feel compared to the originals. The new microwave omits the GE name badge on the door. We miss that name badge to slam the door shut to avoid fingerprints. GE did a good job simplifying the control panel which makes the oven with more usable cooking features, e.g. the Popcorn button works well. The interior of this oven is dark gray and starves the interior light -- you really can't watch the food cook by peering through the window. But, overall we are glad GE still makes an oven and a frame so that this oven appears as a set to fit our cabinet space.

GE microwave with poor design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Our last GE profile built in microwave lasted 20 years & I absolutely loved it. Of course I ordered the same microwave recently, only in black. I must say I am disappointed in that there is no light on the control panel. It is very difficult to see even in the daytime & also has small print. Sometimes the door does not open properly. The latches are made of plastic!!!! This is very annoying! We ordered the black trim & it is plastic & DOES NOT fit, even though it is the matched model for this microwave! Fortunately I saved the old trim which has to be repainted but fits perfectly on my new microwave. So right now I have a new black microwave that the door sometimes opens quickly & an old bisque colored trim which is made of very substantial metal. I feel very bad for the flaws in the production of the new model. GE can do better than this!!!!

Impressed with performance

This is a pretty good model and I am happy with this appliance. Whether I'm defrosting, reheating, or cooking, it handles the task efficiently and I get consistent results. The control panel is intuitive and user-friendly. I can easily select cooking time and power levels. The presets are a nice touch for common tasks like popcorn or beverage heating. I also purchased the trim kit to match this microwave and it fit well in my cabinet. Would highly recommend this model.

Overpriced & SLOW shipping

I will never...and I mean NEVER order anything from Best Buy again. I came back here months later to warn you all...do not order anything from here! My one week delivery turned into 5 weeks! We went without a microwave and a hole in my kitchen wall for 5 weeks because of there incompetence; one week inconvenient but not a problem...but 5 weeks! So after installation I noticed this model is much different then the previous model...there are good and bad points about this new model...its definitely more powerful, but the buttons are hard to find what you are looking for and makes an easy job a little challenging everyday. Lets add insult to injury...so I had a $20 credit and tried to order a few cheap items for my granddaughter...guess what...they shipped only 1 of the 3 and items and wrote off the rest! Dont waste your time and money here!

Don't Buy

Repair person came and fixed it. That lasted one month. Was cooking some food and when the timer went off the door latch completely broke and we couldn't open the door to get the food out. Additionally, the control panel went dark. Repair person came out (thankfully got our food out) but now we've been waiting for over 1 month to get parts. GE refuses to replace the unit and says it can be fixed, but the parts to fix it are on back order with no delivery date it sight. Best Buy won't allow a return because it's outside the return window. Bad product.

DOOR IS NOT OPEN AFTER PURCHASE- BRAND NEW

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this new microwave on August 2021, and after installed, found immediately the door is not able to smooth open, and contacted with GE immediately on 8/12/2021, and GE sent their own authorized repair company on 8/16/2021, with 2 months wait on the parts of the control panel, yesterday 10/14/2021, the technician finally came back and replaced the control panel, and after that, the door is totally not able to open at all. I spent tremendous time of communicate the Premier appliance company ( GE assigned), normally I call 8-10 times a day, 5 days a week, they will return back to me with one message. Spent 1-2 hours on phone with GE customer service every time. Until now, this brand new GE microwave is still not useable and I can't either get it repaired or replaced .SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SHAME ON GE

Modified the Existing Trim Kit to Fit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We bought this model to replace a GE Profile 2.2 cu. ft microwave with the built-in Trim Kit. The original GE lasted 8 years. The original frame would not work with the new microwave because the holes were in different places on the base of the microwave as was the design of the microwave base didn't work with the built-in base of the Trim Kit. We were able to modify by putting two 2x4s under the microwave to lift it higher. The microwave and the trim frame have a cheaper, flimsy feel compared to the originals especially when closing the door and pushing the button. GE did a good job simplifying the control panel which makes the oven with more usable cooking features. The interior of this oven is dark gray, which makes the interior light appear to be not as bright -- we can't even watch the food cooking by looking through the window. But, overall we are glad GE still makes an oven and a frame so that this oven appears as a set to fit our cabinet space.

No panel lights

However if there are not any lights on in your kitchen you will never be able to see the control panel. I have no idea why GE thought it would be a good idea to not backlight the control panel. It makes it exceedingly inconvenient to use anytime you want to use it.
