    Much more noisy than I expected. As well two months later it’s making a horrible sound! No longer returnable but I will exchange it!

    Doesn’t cool room much

     It’s definitely quiet you can barely hear it even on high, but the cooling is the worst air conditioning I’ve ever owned.

      We know how important keeping your space cool is, and we want to help. For an issue with cooling, we would recommend making sure there are no curtains, furniture or other items blocking the airflow around the unit, and that the air filter is clean. Additional troubleshooting tips are available on page 16 of the manual, which can be viewed on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. If you’re not able to resolve this concern with troubleshooting and think service may be needed, that department can be reached at 833-426-3393. GE_Appliances

    It's a great unit but I'd recommend only purchasing it in store; I had 2 units get damaged in shipment and it was a hassle with all the exchanges..

    Became super noisy

    Over the first 3 weeks the unit became very noisy with very loud vibrations like an old washing machine. I have tried other window AC's and I understand none of them are silent but at least most of them have a steady sound which allows me to sleep. I followed all the installation instructions and the unit was quiet at first but when it started getting very noisy I attempted to re-adjust everything to see if it would help but it only got worse. Thankfully I kept the box and returned it to Best Buy because the GE Clearview would not allow me to fall asleep with how loud it was, even in the "quiet" setting. I have since gotten another brand's popular U shaped unit and so far that has actually been great.

    Big but just enough

    So we needed a unit that would fit into our tiny window, but that had better BTU. You definitely need at least 2 ppl. But its been working amazing.

    Do not buy if you want to keep your sanity. The housing on this AC vibrates INCREDIBLY LOUDLY. If you press on the top of the unit you can stop it, but placing heavy objects does not work. The enclosed wedge meant for locking the window closed can be wedged between the window and unit, which works for a few minutes, but the unit vibrates it out quickly. I tried contacting support by the recommended email method and was ignored. It’s too big and heavy to return to Best Buy. I am so angry.

    We could not ask for a better A\C. It’s nice that it allows us to open the widow when needed.

    Continuous P1 error

    I bought this last year 8/24 but did not install till yesterday. It keeps shutting off with error message P1. According to manual one needs to drain water from the drain plug on the inside of AC. Well the unit only runs for about 20minutes and then P1 keeps coming on until I drain it. The only way to keep this thing running is to leave drain open with a bucket under the drain plug. I paid $400 dollars for an AC that can't keep running for more than 20 minutes. Very disappointed!

    I didn’t get to actually use this item I bought it seemed to be good quality but didn’t fit my window , having a lot of difficulty trying to find ax to fit small window

    After 2nd year of purchased it stop working make amor of noise ,Wont turn on any more I only use it in Summer removed and storaged for winter

    I was really looking forward to using the GE Profile ClearView 8,300 BTU window air conditioner, but unfortunately, it didn’t fit in my window even though according to the instruction it should have. Very disappointed, especially given the high price and promising features.

      We're sorry to hear that you experienced some issues with installing your a/c unit. The Installation Instructions are written for a standard double-hung window and will need to be modified for other types of windows.     I returned it because it did not cool my small living room. I stoid right infront of it and couldn't feel anything

    Trouble maker

    After 6 months of use the unit stopped working. It doesn't start cooling and if start cooling it don't shutoff. And it gives error messages. I have to unplug and plug it again to get it started and once it start cooling it never stop even I set it to 86° Not very good experience.
