Customers regard the UltraPro Bar HD 400 Indoor Amplified Antenna favorably for its picture quality and ease of use, with many also appreciating its compact size and attractive design. However, a significant number of users reported issues with reception and signal strength, leading to some dissatisfaction. While some found the channel selection adequate, others felt the price point was not justified by the performance. The antenna's setup was generally considered straightforward.

The mail reason why I purchased this antenna is because I can mount it on the wall and the range would reach my metro area. The mount was easy to install on the wall and it looks nice because the wires are hidden. The negative is there is a limited number of stations that area broadcasting in the Atlanta metro area. About 7 of them. This is not as big of a deal being that the TV is in my exercise room so it won't be watched much anyway. Overall I like me the product.

We have gradually been cutting the cable cord to reduce spending. The GE UltraPro Bar HD 400 Amplified Antenna made that possible. It works great and we are able to receive all of our local channels in HD.

Got 50 channels. Some are repeats. Who needs cable? Not me! Got some channels that are not even on my cable listing. This thing looks smooth and sleek.

Easy setup and nice looking. Signal could be a bit better but good enough. Its not ugly and hanging on the wall but looks like part of the TV system and integrates well.

I'm happy with this antennae. It's small, easy to mount on the wall or tabletop, and is a bargain compared to paying for cable. In Charlotte, it picks up 20+ channels, most in true HD. I have the antennae setting on top of the TV cabinet on the ground floor of my home. Its not artwork, but its unobtrusive, and having it out allows me to turn it for best reception.... which is my only complaint. ...
The device will pull in channels best when it is facing the broadcast tower. So to get ALL the channels you want, you MAY have to turn the antennae when you change the channel.
I just don't think that there are ANY truly omni-directional antennas on the market... at least not for this price!

Needed something when my cable went out due to the hurricane. I bought this and was able to pick up 48 local digital channels. I was easy to setup and the picture was crystal clear. If you need a digital antenna I highly recommend this one it works great and is very easy to install.

Only complaint is that it still needs decent clearance for reception of basic networks...was hoping we could avoid cable clutter in view and just place it in front of TV that is in a nook and low to the ground. Couldn't get ABC and FOX this way and CBS and NBC were choppy. Otherwise, a good product and looks much better than rabbit ears.

The reception is great until a airplane flys by. The unit was by the tv it was only getting 5 channels. Used cable line to get the unit in the window. It then pulled in 33 channels. If I didn’t live in the flight path of the airport it would be perfect. With this and my fire stick I have no need for the exspensive cable.

I went into Best Buy in two separate occasions and each time two different associates recommended this product over the other brands. Easy and quick setup. It picked up a lot of channels and the picture quality is better than good.

I now have three of these HD antenna. The first one I purchased was to test it out, get a feel for how well it did or did not perform. Well after I got it home and hooked up, I was convinced it would provide adequate service. I subsequently purchased two more and have since purchased one for my step daughter.
There are a few concerns I have with it, however. The first is it does not pick-up all the digital channels. You have to move it around to get ABC, then it drops one or two of the other channels. I also do not like the wires. and my last concern actually relates to the first, which is that since you have to move the antenna around to get some channels, the design should be more conducive for that. So instead of flat, with no ability to rotate easily the design could be modified to accommodate the need to move around. However, I am happy with the way I have decided to set it up since I do not care to keep getting up to move it whenever, I want to watch ABC or ION.

I purchased this antenna to attach to a TV my wife wanted in a room she uses for her painting. It set up very easily onto a Vizio HDTV unit that I'd attached to a wall mount and the set up to get our available local channels was pretty easy. The quality of the reception, both HD and non-HD has been quite good.
Now, that particular TV was in a room about four or five feet from a large window on the front of our house. I tried later to hook it up on the Sony TV in our living room, probably a good twenty-five feet from the back of our house and available windows, it couldn't get a good signal, just too much distance from the windows. I have used it in another couple of rooms with good success.

It actually works pretty well and got up fast. Make sure you put it in AIR mode so it finds the channels. Quality is pretty nice and it looks nice, nothing to stick to the walls etc. Definitely recommend. I didnt give it a 5 stars mainly because ABC did not work, I do not know if it is the antenna fault or the fact it is not available in my area?

Surprisingly, this product was less successful than the first two I tried. It was the most expensive of the lot, had 65miles in reach and only managed to connect to 2 channels. The least expensive one connected to 8! I moved it to 12 different locations on the sliding glass door to the back of the house facing west with no luck. It was worse anywhere else. Cable isn't very long and the cable for the AC Adapter is even shorter.

Brand response from Tech Support

Hi Bill, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE UltraPro Bar HD 400 Amplified Antenna. We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing signal issues with our product. Our priority is to offer complete customer satisfaction for all our customers. As the manufacturer, we are very interested in supplying consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. Anytime we hear problems encountered in the use of one of our products, we want to get involved and resolve the difficulties the best we can. First, make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. This will allow the antennas dipoles to be fully extended for better reception. The antenna must be connected to the TV and connected to a power source at all times in order for the antenna to function properly. Once these steps are complete we suggest you run another channel scan. If you are still not able to access any channels, your antenna may be over amplifying the signal. We recommend that you turn off the amplifier behind the antenna and rescan for channels again. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and locate the antenna closer to that direction. If the problem persists, please give us a call at 1-800-654-8483 option 1 and provide our Support Team with your ticket number 264090. We are eager to work together with you to get the best out of our product and help you with your concerns. We look forward to hearing from you.

Purchased this on a deal of the day and it was an improvement over a much more expensive antenna. It is sleep and blends in well with the entertainment system and soundbar setup. I am able to pull in anywhere from 8 - 25 major channels, depending on which room I use this in. I now use this in a back room since we have YouTube TV and get local channels and it is a great back up plan to have on hand. This thing picks up channels from as far as 80 miles away and I live in a fairly dense populated area with hills and trees, pretty impressive.

My wife dislikes the appearance of most antennas. This antenna is quite attractive and unobtrusive. I live a little over 10 miles from the broadcast stations. I hid the antenna behind a decoration by a solid wall that does not directly face the broadcasting places. I still receive about 15 channels including the ones my wife most wanted. This antenna was reasonably priced and does what an antenna is supposed to do. No complaints

Tried the antenna, but it did not work well for my environment. The house has stucco which requires a metal screen that most likely is affecting reception. The antenna may work great in other environments. This is why my rating is 3 stars and I would recommend trying it in order to be somewhat neutral. If your house is stucco, you may need an attic or outside mount.

We tried the chord cutting idea for TV, we found it was just a big hassle and ended up going back to Direct TV as we missed all our shows and the pricing was not that far off once you started purchasing netflix, hulu, prime, etc. This device got us some channels but not a lot and when my college football played I noticed the neighbor who was lawn mowing the picture kept going in and out. Not a lot of channels, but quality of picture was great for those that worked!
