Had a perfectly good Dell laptop running Windows XP, and did not want to throw it away/recycle it. At the same time, I did not want to purhase another new computer and did not want to upgrade to Windows 8/8.1/8.1 Update. So I decided to upgrade to Windows 7, and the intsllation went smoothly. After installing, there were 150+ updates for the OS, and that was very time-consuming. However, it worked, and now I have an OS that will be supported until 2020.. Now if the rest of the computer will last that long...

I needed to upgrade an older Sony Vaio Laptop from Windows XP Professional, so with some reservatons, I took the plunge and purchased the 32 Bit OEM Version of Windows 7. It turned out to be a good decision, as the upgrade process was relatively easy (does require an external HD), with the only issue being lack of sound once the upgrade was complete. That was easily solved by downloading and reloading the previous XP RealTek HD Driver, although Windows warned of an incompatibility. Both the software and sound card have been working fine together ever since. One other note is that it does require a "custom" installation, so be sure to fully back up your personal files, just in case!!

Whether you have windows XP or vista and are looking to upgrade to windows 7 then this is the product for you. It's really easy to install and runs great. You can either upgrade install or clean install(custom) and yes it has the "upgrade anytime"option on it so you can get windows 10 when it comes out if you want to do that as well.I had Vista and just upgraded to windows 7 and it works great.

Who are you going to trust with your computer?

I had a remote computer service handling my isolated issues with my PC but eventually isolated got to be regular! They kept wanting to sell me something and I finally cut them off after they accidentally erased one of my WINDOWS operating files. Of course at that point "remote" has REAL issues like how do we get to the internet to secure remote access when the computer will not even open to a log-in screen? I went to Best Buy and they made recommendations to upgrade and update my PC after doing analysis on my machine. I agreed and for what I paid my "remote" access provider I now have a local source who is trustworthy and not trying to sell me the world. By the way - the machine is operating like new and the updates/upgrades were really excellent recommendations. Geek Squad wins Remote Access Provider goes bye bye forever (I was shocked they gave me no refund!) John K. Hartsworm

No problems installing the new software, which was delivered to my local store with free shipping. Nearly all the existing software was either compatible with Windows 7 or had upgrades available. Be sure to order the 32-bit Windows 7 version if you currently have a 32-bit Windows VISTA operating system.

I purchased this software to upgrade an older computer I have that was running Vista. It runs great and eliminated the headaches I was having with Vista. I also like W7 much better than W8. I guess we'll soon find out about W10. (By the way, what happened to W9??)

The upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 went very smoothly with this product. I recommend using Windows 7 diagnostic tool first to ensure that all your Vista programs are compatible

This review is based on the installation of this OEM package. This is a great option to upgrade your computer with Windows XP to Windows 7 and breathe new life into an existing hardware. The installation for me went very smoothly. I did a clean install, which means Windows deleted the old Windows XP (and all of my files and programs) before installing Windows 7 giving me a "fresh" start. The install took about 45 minutes and about another 45 minutes to install the programs I wanted and virus software. The only downside to the OEM package is you do not receive support from Microsoft if there is a problem. For intermediate to advanced users this is probably not an issue, but if you are not very good with computers you may want to find a computer shop that can install this for you and offer support if there is a problem. Aside from that WIndows 7 is a great operating system.

Pleased with my purchase of Windows 7 to upgrade my Gateway PC with the Vista OS . Never liked the Vista OS - gave me nothing but grief. I had also previously purchased the Window 7 OS to upgrade my laptop from Windows XP OS -no longer supported by Microsoft. Both were installed by the Geek Squad
Couldn't be happier with my upgraded computers

This is the 3rd laptop (mine and parents) that I have had Best Buy remove Windows 8 and install Windows 7. The cost of Windows 7, $100, is excessive considering the consumer still has to pay to have Office and any other one-time-purchase type software reinstalled; Best Buy could provide better service by lowering that cost.. I think that Microsoft totally missed the mark with Windows 8 if the user has worked with an earlier version.

Computer was running slow and always trying to update and was almost unusable. Now it runs as good as my other computers that came with windows 7. Will be buying another for a desktop computer rather than replacing the computer. When the windows 10 comes out hopefully I can get the free upgrade.

Windows 7 is a reliable operating system that I haven't had any issues with unlike some of the other systems I've heard about, was easy to learn and navigate through plus the price was right I'm glad I chose it.

Getting this Windows 7 has allowed me to use my laptop that's just been sitting because I could not find any recovery disk so that I can use the original operating system.

This upgrade breathed new life into my old laptop after WinXP support was dropped by Microsoft. Upgrade went pretty smoothly. The registration numbers were quite small and rather hard to read easily. Otherwise this was an easy process. Performance is fine.

XP support gone! Needed a stable microsnooze product, this fit the bill. Just don't know how long this will be supported. Great price, thanks Best Buy.
