Nest was a better interface. I ended up buying Eufy by Anker. Much better price, twice the resolution and full 365 day battery? Oh, and their app is better than google home. Sorry, Ill be upfitting my house with at least 8 cams and discontinue to use the Google/Nest line of products. At this point, it's all in the name you got going for you.

We understand that long time Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app, however, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We wanted to make the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. The new Nest Cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with other Google Nest speakers and displays.

Google has messed up the new line up of cameras.

Doesnt work in the older Nest app with my existing cameras. You can only access it in the Google Home app that has less features. I ended up returning it. In comparison i also use the Blink wireless cameras that use 4 AA and they last over a year before changing them out.

The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. Also, your camera could have detected a lot of activities, as the battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select, which can be extended by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas.

Paid electricians to check outlets. All pointed to camera issues. Google was no help and equally save on internet that others experienced problems. Works now after getting a new camera. Not sure for how long. Would not get this camera brand again.

Posted .Hey there, BasselA. Sorry to hear you didn’t experience great battery life on the Nest Cam (Battery).Battery consumption depends on factors including activity, temperature, and selected camera settings. On average here’s how long the battery will last on a single charge:
Busy - About 1 month battery life (about 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
Typical - About 2.5 months battery life (about 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
Quiet - About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)
Here’s a few tips to conserve battery:
1. Optimize its video quality.
2. Shorten the length of time for which events are recorded.
3. Take longer to begin recording between events.

Don't Work with NEST NATIVE APP

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this camera through my Nest Native App, Easy to install, but when trying to pair with my Native Nest App it won't connect instead it redirected me to Google Home App, I don't like Google Home App to cluttered, I already have other Nest products connected to my Native Nest App. This camera shouldn't be called NEST CAMERA if it doesn't work with Nest Native App. This is unprofessional business from Google. I returned the Camera.
