It’s good when it connects

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this for over 6 months, it was pretty easy to install and hook up to the Google Home app. The biggest issue is when i want to view it live, it has issues allowing me to watch it in real time. It have to keep retrying multiple times which i am near an access point. It’l gets annoying after awhile. Just be aware.

We’re aware that longtime Nest users like you enjoy viewing the camera videos using the Nest app or web app. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app.
To optimize battery life, it offers event video history and will detect and capture important activity at your door, so you can focus on the details that need your attention. Our goal is to give users more choice. These can be charger and work fine but have more options for recording and historical playback if connected to power.

Your camera could be detecting a lot of activities, as the battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Try to adjust the settings like the video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas so you can extend its battery life. In addition, you can plug your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power. The included power adapter is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use. We suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately). Contact your retailer for inquiries.

They will not connect unless plugged in to power. Installed wifi extender, and that didn't help. As soon as I plugged it in, works great. Great camera but not wireless as advertised.
