It's a battery powered security camera. Doesn't work with the nest app and there's no clips or rewindable history like the original nest cameras had. It should not have nest in the product name.

As loyal google/nest user I gave these a try .. what a disappointment, what was google thinking?
Battery is inadequate and lasts less than 2 weeks, even if pointed at a low traffic area. Why is the power wire facing towards the front? Google please design an updated and improved IQ cam to make up for this disaster. Returning.

Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios: - Busy - About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day) - Typical - About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day) - Quiet - About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)

Works good. Battery lasts long. It’s able to detect the neighborhood cat in my backyard.

Google cameras are the best. Why would anyone ever want an arlo
Hi Snookered, thanks for posting a review on Nest Cam (battery), and we’re sorry to hear about your poor experience with its connectivity despite having a strong signal.
Sometimes, a range issue or wireless interference can cause your Nest camera to disconnect from your Wi-Fi. Try moving your camera a bit closer to your router. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the camera and your router as these items could block the connection. Relaced my arlo cameras with nest. Have solar panels .

The issue is most likely related to a connectivity issue with your network. We recommend checking if your Nest Cam (Battery) might be getting a weak Wi-Fi signal from your router. Placing your Nest Cam (Battery) in a location where you get better signal reception might be helpful in improving it. The issue may also be related to possible congestion in your network. Removing some of your connected devices to free up some bandwidth space, and to test if the issue will persist. If you verify the presence congestion, we recommend contacting your Internet service provider and consider upgrading your bandwidth.
