Great cameras for keeping your home feeling safer, 24/7 recording is a big plus!

This is the second Google Nest outdoor wireless camera we set up along with a Nest doorbell. Cameras can be customized to alert you and the Google subscription service allows you see 30 days of video history. Cameras have high resolution, wide angle viewing and the night vision is great.

What if I wrote a review like people post YouTube videos? Hey there's three things that I like (number three will surprise you) so make sure you read to the end! Well you're not going to get that here because I think that is stupid. All you're going to get from me is this camera with the only valuable item in it...the high powered magnet on it that records loops of video that you can't delete individually. But I bought this to watch my dogs in their crates so otherwise I wouldn't have bought any of this crud.

Good but in some ways they’re a downgrade. The biggest downside is you can’t use the Nest app and you have to use Google Home app which is not as good IMO. If this is your first Nest camera you’ll be fine. If you’re coming from or adding to older Nest IQ cameras you might be disappointed

I have nest gen 1 cameras and iq at the perimeter of my home. Those require power all of the time. We purchased these cameras for areas we don't see a lot of traffic/alerts. The camera does a decent job, not as good as the gen 1 or iq cameras. The picture is decent and so far battery life is as listed in the cameras description. I do not like the fact I cannot use the nest app to view these cameras like the rest of my cameras. You must use the Google home app. I'm hoping over time, google will push software upgrades to allow these cameras to reach their full potential.

The battery life is not very long. The only thing I wish is that it had a better battery life. Easy setup. Looks great indoors and out. I like that it’s wireless. Wish you can you the nest app rather than the google home app.
Hi there Coolmom, thanks for choosing our Google Nest products. We're glad to hear that Nest Cam (Battery) has been great for you. We're sorry to hear that the battery and the exclusivity of the Google Home app for the new generation of Nest cameras fell short of meeting your expectations.
We wanted to make the Google Home app as the one place where you can control all your favorite Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Battery): - Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup. - Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, """"Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup. - One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps. - Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps. - If you're willing, you may set up your Nest cameras to the Google Home app. Check out this help article: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9893532
Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Users can extend the battery life of their camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios for your Nest Cam (Battery): Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day) Typical: About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day) Quiet: About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)
We highly recommend checking the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Cam (Battery). If the short battery life isn´t related to the frequency of events, then we may need to have a closer look at your device and understand what may be causing it. I love these nest cams. They work great and the quality is amazing. They work in the heat and the freezing cold with no issues.

The image quality is great but the sensitivity level could be enhanced. I have the sensitivity level on the highest setting on both cameras but it doesn’t pick up all of the activity.
Hello there, AmyW. We’re glad that you like the image quality of the Nest Cam (battery), and we’re sorry to hear that your experience with activity detection is below your satisfaction.
We suggest checking your camera settings as event detection depends on settings that you select. You can choose which events your camera can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). From there, you (and each member of your home) can decide which of those events to get notifications for. If an event is turned off, you won’t get notifications for that kind of activity. You can also change the settings like adjusting video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas.
You may also need to check for any range issue or wireless interference that can affect the overall performance of your camera. Sometimes the camera may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away from your router. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the camera and your router as these items could block the connection. Highly recommend if you don't want to run wires we did add the the small solar panel and have never had an issue and we have purchased three cameras and three solar panels always charged always available to view our cameras would definitely recommend also great resolution would recommend spending a little more for more space via the cloud to be able to review for their back than the standard aside from that excellent

Got these for my parents and glad I spent a little more for Google. Easy setup and mounting, plus the clarity of the picture quality is worth the extra money...

Just had these cameras installed 3 weeks ago. So far, so good. The installation was a nightmare because I chose to connect to power, and the technician would not go into my attic where the power was. He installed on battery power only. After having an electrician connect the cameras my attic, I finally got everything hooked up and working. I had to pay for it myself to be connected (128.00 per camera). The cameras work pretty well. The app is good also and of course requires a subscription. Overall I am pleased with my cameras, especially now that I won't have to charge the battery.
