Really good batter stay long, clear vidio, and image, easy to set up.

The new Nest Cam (battery) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

Not built for outdoor use! Experience

Do not buy this item for an outdoor device. It was engineered to fail. Corrosion will build up where the charger port meets the camera. The design is not built to be waterproof or anywhere close to it. Mine lasted about 6months under an awning. Google would not even consider any warranty because I had everything except the useless cord. A C-port would have been better, still would have failed, but easily replaced. Do not buy for outdoor use. There are way better-engineered cameras for that purpose. Indoor use, sure, go for it, just know that the cord is one of a kind and uses a magnet to secure to the camera. The magnet is weak and short. Tends to fall out often. I have had two so far. Regret the purchase, and disappointed in the customer service treatment. Thanks, Apple, I mean CJ, for the awful customer experience. Tossing the nest as a whole, as I have 6 products and will use something reliable. There are free services for outdoor cameras. Not 99 dollars a year and expected to go up. Plus the software is kinda janky.

Easy to use! The only thing I would change is an additional charging cable.

The inclusion of a single cable is intentional, as the cameras shouldn't usually need to be charged at the same time due to differences in usage, such as event frequency or scene the camera is observing, sensitivity and event duration settings, and more.

 I really really nice upgrade from the drop cam pro that I own. I just wish those would also work with the system, but this works really smoothly with the new Google app Google Home so I’m giving it a go.

You can extend the battery life by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios for your Nest Cam (Battery): Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day) Typical: About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day) Quiet: About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day)

We switched from the Arlo system which was terribly buggy and took forever to load so this was an upgrade in that sense. They also look fantastic! Only issue is that the quality of the video could be better, things that are not up close are rather blurry - no way I could read a license plate with a recording but I could probably describe the car color/make/model.

The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you choose the maximum video quality for your cameras. And whichever level you pick, your camera will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available. The camera itself is okay but seems all Google Next cameras have some kind of connection issues. I had to disable some settings in my router to make the connection stable. For outdoor camera like this, maybe would consider different options for better connectivity.

Been a good experience overall. There have been a couple instances where I wanted to go back to a specific event. But there was a drop in events. Like 2 minutes before the event and then it picks up several minutes later. Happened pretty few and far between times. But I have 6 devices so I can’t really complain too much.
