Beat addition to our backyard and home security system. Integrates fantastically with existing Google home network family of products. Clear picture.

So far, this set works much better than the older version of the same brand that we had, though pretty expensive.

I bought this device knowing about the google home app integration and I absolutely love it. I wanted a camera that would work seamlessly with my google home network that I already have and this camera does that better than any other camera that I've tried on the market. I use this camera as a wired outdoor camera so I can't comment on battery, but I bought this camera for its AI detection and 24/7 recording feature with the nest aware subscription service ($12) and it does both very well. Nighttime detection and visibility are also pretty good for only a 1080p camera and no spotlight. Overall if you're looking for a camera that working seamlessly with google home packed with unique and helpful features and also using it in wired mode, I'd highly recommend this camera.

I bought this for my backyard it works flawlessly.

So my review has nothing to do with quality of the product, but everything to do with the service of Google. Ignore the name Nest on these cameras - it's all Google. You are forced to use Google Home and can not view any recorded footage on a computer. They will make you download the Nest App - but you can't use it with this device. When you first sign up they give you the option of signing up for a plan - but never bother to tell you that there are two plans to choose from. A basic plan and a plus plan. If you want to upgrade down way, per Google, they will double charge you. So you pay the $60 for the basic plan and then the $120 for the plus plan. If you don't heed my warning and buy this door bell or buy the cameras, sign up for the Plus Plan because the basic plan is garbage. I originally bought the doorbell and cameras so that I could have access to the emergency call features that are included in Nest Aware - but guess what? It refuses to verify my address, hence can't use that feature. Called Nest Support, they transferred me around five times before they said an engineer would be in touch. Weeks later, no one had gotten back with. This apparently is a common issue and Google doesn't seem in a hurry to correct this issue. So basically I'm stuck paying for and using a device I hate because per them, they don't do refunds. As for the quality of the visuals and the installation - wonderful. The picture is amazing and the installation was easy and I had no issues connecting to any of my devices. But under no circumstances would I ever, ever recommend this device to anyone due the customer service of the company.

as advertised, looks like a better quality picture on event based recording then my outdoor cam iq which was much more expensive.... don't know the quality on 24/7 when hardwired.... app could be improved....

The inconsistency of event detection and push notifications with this camera is very frustrating. Some days, the camera won't even push a single notification. I have mine mounted above my garage, facing the street, and we get a lot of foot traffic and cars passing our house, so we should get a lot of activity being captured throughout the day. It's not a settings issue, both my Google Home app and my phone push notification settings are properly configured. My settings: Wake-up Sensitivity: High Maximum Event Length: 1 min Video quality: Max Push Notifications: All (Motion, People, Animals, Vehicles) I've tried resetting the camera, and reinstalling it into my Google Home App, but nothing has fixed the issue. If you're in the market for a home security system, I wouldn't recommend the Google camera system at this point. The only reason I haven't switched already is because I've already invested a lot of money into this system, and switching brands/devices, plus subscription will just further incur more costs. I'm overall unsatisfied with the performance of this device. I'm not getting what I'm paying for with the Nest Aware subscription using this camera. I have little-to-no confidence that this camera would detect anything if someone were to vandalize or steal my property within line-of-sight of the camera. Do some thorough review comparisons with competitive brands! Hopefully this helps!

Easy to install; was impressed with the magnetic attachment for easy angling. Set up in the app was quick.

Im a fan i switched because i had the doorbell feom arlo. I kinda miss arlo as it was good at dected people vs animals. I love the fave reqiginition though. The intercoms are great.

Great outdoor camera, connects to my Google Home app and lets me see everything in my backyard. Great video and sound quality as well.
