I charged one fully and place on the front of the house and with less than 12 alerts a day and checking in a few times it estimates 4 months till recharge. The one on back porch that see nothing most of the time says 7 months till recharge. I also love that they are so easy to move around and relocate if you want.

Motion detection for Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below:
1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap.
2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area.
3. Restart your Camera.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 pack includes a bit of extra mounting hardware no one really needs (short security cables that aren't really secure?) and gimps you out of a whole wall charger and charging cable — despite being a 2 pack it only comes with 1 charger and 1 cable for both cameras but costs exactly the same as two individual kits that would each include a wall charger and its cable. In short, don't get gimped. Only buy the single camera kits.

Since your camera is detecting a lot of activities, you can extend the battery life by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Also, you can plug your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power. However, the included power adapter is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use. We suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately). Contact your retailer for inquiries.

I’m impressed with the clarity and the distance it captures. I’ve been able to look at recordings and can see license plates and can see details of strangers passing along the perimeter of my home. For the price, totally worth it. I’ve bought and used ADT cameras that can’t compare to the quality I get from the Google cameras. I totally recommend it.

Yes you have to use the Google Home app. I honestly don’t see why this is such a big deal to some people. The cameras catch and record more with better sensitivity if you have them connected to a power source, but for the areas where this isn’t possible they are suitable. I have one on my front porch wired, adding another to the side for battery and I just ordered the floodlight for the back yard. Very happy.
