Posted .Hello there, KLash. We appreciate taking your time sharing your feedback on the Nest Doorbell (battery). If you have a newer camera like Nest Cam (battery) or Nest Doorbell (battery), you can get up to three hours of event video history without a subscription. But for most older Nest camera and doorbell models, you need a Nest Aware subscription to get event video history or 24/7 video history. Event detection and recording depends on the settings that you select. You can choose which events your doorbell can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). Using activity zones to monitor specific areas can also help. As for the battery life, adjusting video quality, length of video clips, and time between recorded events can extend its battery life. For steps on how to enable notifications for your device, or change which kinds of alerts you get, go to the app you use to control your doorbell.
Open the Google Home app.
Tap Favorites or Devices.
Tap and hold your device's tile > More > Settings.
Select Notifications.

The one thing I wish it still had was the higher quality videos as the gen 1. Other than that this camera basically does everything the gen one did and is a great product
