Defective Wifi Chip

All of a sudden one of our three thermostats stopped connecting to wi-fi within a year of installing. NEST knows that this is a known issue with the Wi-fi chip. https://www.engadget.com/google-replace-nest-w5-wifi-error-070131820.html. Best Buy online won't do anything by phone. You have to talk to the store directly, so it is not easy to deal with. I've been on hold and it's not easy to navigate. I've also been told to contact NEST directly.
