My issue is that you have to turn the thermostat above 70 degrees or more for it to turn the heat on. It was 54 degrees inside our home. We had to turn the heat off in 30 minutes because it was too hot. That means the heat would keep going until it reached 70. It would be nice if you don't have to blast the heat that high for it to turn on. I'm still learning how to use it. So maybe we are missing something. It hasn't been. Cold enough to use the heat. Our home is well insulated. The true test will be when we try the AC in the summer

Most of these Smart Thermostats claim they can work without a C-wire by "power-stealing" but get a C-wire hooked up to it. It worked for a month or two and then kept giving us issues. C-wire (common wire that gives power to the thermostat- most smart thermostats use too much energy to be battery powered) is usually blue.

Add some sensors and you get to be comfortable wherever you are at the time.

Thanks for bringing this up to our attention. We're sorry to hear your Nest Learning Thermostat has caused you some inconvenience, but we'd love to help improve your experience.
The unexpected temperature changes may have been due to the schedules Nest Learning Thermostat created after learning your preferences with its learning feature, Auto-Schedule. If you'd like, you can turn off its learning feature and use it as a traditional programmable thermostat. You can follow the steps below to turn it off:
With the Nest app:
- Open the Nest app and select your Nest thermostat > Select Settings and then Auto-Schedule > Tap the switch to turn it off.
On your thermostat:
- Press the ring and choose Settings > Select Nest Sense > Choose Auto-Schedule > Then Off.
You may also need to clear existing schedules so the thermostat won't still follow them. Here's how:
- On your thermostat, select Settings > Reset > Schedule > Select either Reset or Clear.
