This is the worst product I have purchased in a long time. I have tried to figure out how to operate it and it continues to go back to what it thinks I like. I bought it for a cottage and thought it would be great to use when not there in the winter to make sure the furnance is working, yet it continues to change the temp during the day and night to what it thinks I like, would like to be able to set it at a certain temperature and have it stay till I change it.

If the Nest is changing the temperature after you've adjusted it, then the Nest may have saved set points in place that need to be removed. ||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the first year i used it was flawless, it sat in storage for the 2nd year and now i recently purchased a home and decided to connect it to our system, the spin will stopped spinning as i assume the grease dried up and my new ac unit would go on and off multiple times when activated it, i ended up switching to my old thermostat that came with the home and everything is back to normal. I called nest and they could not help me so if you want a thermostat that last a year this is for you, otherwise i would stay away.

Nest thermostat

The Geek Squad tried to install this but was unable to do so resulting in my AC not working. Had to get an emergency HVAC tech to rectify problem. Cost of Nest was returned as well as fee paid to Geek Squad, and fee for emergency service to restart AC was paid by Best Buy.

You may want to check for any wireless interference that can affect the connectivity of your thermostat. We also recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested, which may happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. If your other thermostat is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points.

After hiring 4 different people who did not know what they were doing all screwed up my units core wiring i decided to return it. I purchased an ecobee4 and whent trough another couple of installers who made things worse i found one who had to fix all the previous handlers mistakes and ended up paying 700.00 to have the new Ecobee4 installed. So, i am not to happy after all that!
