It started with a rebate offer from Ameren that intrigued me to try this smart devise. I was a bit nervous with the installation, but after watching several videos I felt I could achieve this on my own with limited knowledge of installing anything. I was amazed at the ease of installation, but did have to call in with a wiring question. I was surprised that someone took the call on a Saturday afternoon and walked me through the wiring. They stayed on the phone until the unit worked properly. They even followed up a few hours later which I really appreciated. The mobile app works perfectly. It does seem to be learning my pattern which will save me a few bucks her and there.

Most people either love it and there are some who hate it. My experience has mostly been positive, but I docked it one star for the C-Wire stuff. I installed it as per the Video instructions and things went fine. I finally realized after a day that my Heating did not work anymore. My old Honeywell thermostat did not have a C wire connected, and I assumed my nest thermostat would not need it either. Unfortunately it did. Luckily for me the Blue C wire was available, just not connected. After connecting the Blue C wire, things have been fine, other than the Nest thermostat telling once in a while that there is a problem with my Furnace and that it shut down after 10 minutes. Looked up online and checked with few of my friends, its a common complaint from Nest thermostats. For the positives : An App, and the ability to control via voice assistants and remotely as well makes it well worth it.

I purchased the nest thermostat after hearing how good it is. It lives up to all of the reviews and reports. It so so easy to install and set up. Would recommend it highly.

This was easy to set up and program. We have really enjoyed being able to control every aspect of our environment while we are away. We have saved a large amount on our electric bill due to the green leaf you can see in the display. It has helped us to find the right temperature for not only when we are at the house but for while we are away. We do use it with a satellite temperature sensor which was easy to program. It senses when we leave the house due to our phone connect so it goes to a warmer temp. Before we return we manually turn off the Away so that the house has a chance to cool down a bit just before we get home.

It’s a great purchase, easy to use, and very convenient to have. Set it on a decent schedule, set your preferred eco temperature for when no ones home, then watch as you save a lot of money on your electricity bill. Only complaint is that it’s marketed as not needing a “C wire” (common wire), but in reality unless you have the micro usb plugged into it the base of it (not sure how you’d pull that off if it’s hooked up to your wall), you’re gonna need a C wire for it to function correctly. There’s various kits and workarounds for that though, just keep that in mind when installing!

Did not regret this purchase. Love the automation and ease of use. Very easy to install. Troubleshoots itself for the most part. Will be getting a 2nd one for my other unit.

it is very cool looking. i had to have my service man install it. it took a little learning. i finally have learned most of the ins and out and i think it is agreat product

the nest is very easy to set up and use . The temperature controls are right on . Nice Modern look . Thewife set up one and I did te other . Will get the camera next then fire alarms . Get the Nest . You will not be disappointed.

Works perfect. Looks great. Happy to control the air handler through my phone. Eco mode allows to setup temperatures when the Air handler should work saving electricity.

I picked up the Nest Thermostat to make my home "smarter" and more efficient. So far, the install was very easy, and I am looking forward to the thermostat "learning" our home and making our heating and cooling more green. Plus it looks cool.

Very easy to use. No issues with connectivity like mentioned in the reviews for the 2nd generation thermostat. A little pricey but very convenient, love the smartphone app and convenience of controlling my heating and cooling with my phone.

I love my new thermostat. I can easily manage it from my phone and can change temperature from the comfort of my bed if I get too cold at night. It also looks very neat on my wall.

Love this thermostat. Was difficult to match with my AC and almost returned it after two customer service people couldn’t resolve. Then I escalated it and a Supervisor helped resolve the issue. Their support is in the US and the people are trying their best to help. The system is functioning flawlessly and I can control it from any place in the world. Also I got it programmed so it goes high after we are out in the morning and it drops down just before we come back from work and it drops lowest around 3:00 AM just before my wife is getting her hot flashes. Happy customer. Looking into other Nest products. Pricy but will get their smoke detector and the alarm if they drop the price on this one, camera if they drop the monthly price. Pricy but you get what you pay.

Works as advertised and more. The only issue I’ve had has been the scheduling function. I did figure it out, and I’m really happy with the ease of operation.

This was really easy to set up. It is great to set the temp if you leave and forget to change the thermostat.. Also can get the place warm or cool as you head back from work. Way cool

Awesome i love it. Super easy to install. Regulates temperature well i have noticed a vast improvement in my home.

Although I am happy with the two nest thermostats that I purchased I was not happy with the nest website, specifically where you enter what wires your current thermostat has and it tells you if the nest will work. Basically it says the nest will work for me (what it doesn't say is that you kinda have to hack it to work) After reading about horror stories online doing it the way nest says to (for my situation) I went ahead and pulled new thermostat wire to both zones and upgraded my zone relay switch box. I only splurged for the nests because after the sale I got both for 400 then I got 200 back from my gas company as a rebate. In the end I paid 200 total for both which was awesome..... then I had to tack on about 40 for new wire and 110 for the new relay box (not to mention hiring a professional to install the box if you aren't the type of person who feels confident doing the work. I did it myself and it's pretty easy, intimidating but easy). I still saved but now it doesn't feel like such a great savings haha. There are cheaper options that do the same thing but nothing will be as cool as a nest. It's definitely a splurge item. If you plan on just buying this and installing it make sure you have at least 3 wires behind your current thermostat and one of them is a constant 24v (this is assuming you are using the thermostat for heat only, heat and ac will require more than 3 wires)

Thus far I have been very happy with the Nest Thermostat, which replaced a standard 5-2 programmable thermostat. Installation was a breeze, though the smaller profile of the Nest left an exposed unpainted area that was behind the previous, larger thermostat and which needed to be repainted. The Nest learns your standard schedule very quickly, and it is easy to make changes on the go from either the thermostat itself or from the Nest app. I am also a big fan of the "auto away" feature that turns down the heat when you are away from the home (it detects "away" based on a combination of motion in front of the thermostat and (optional) location services on the Nest app). I would definitely recommend upgrading the the Nest, especially if your utility company offers a rebate on the purchase of a smart thermostat.
