It is a good product and perfect for my snow color thermostat.

Purchased a Nest Thermostat recently and picked up the Trim Kit at the same time just in case. As to the trim kit in a general sense, If you have to hide some blemishes or in my case don't have matching touch up paint for the area of the wall and don't want to face the prospects of a involved touch up project, it will save time and money. With respect to the official Google trim kit, its a piece of plastic that does the job, but feels a tad over priced. as a personal preference I did not like the concave shape, I wanted a more convex shape to add definition. Would have been great if it was reversable, but as it was not I went looking for another compatible kit

I was concerned that there would be a gap on the wall because the Nest was smaller than my old thermostat. However, as it turns out, the Nest already included a wall cover plate as well that was large enough to cover the wall gap. I painted the wall plate to match my wall cover and it looks good. I returned the product. The wall plate is needed for very big gaps. Most of the time the included wall cover will do. Pleased overall.

This trim kit was the perfect size to cover the holes, old paint, and dirt exposed on the wall when I removed my old, larger, and rectangular thermostat. It was tricky to install, but not difficult. They recommend hiring a professional, but if you are able to follow instructions, you should be able to install this. Take a picture of your wiring before removing it from the old thermostat. Make sure you know which wire is which before disconnecting them.

Jess will be needed in a newly decorated living room and it fits perfectly!
