Records EVERYONE and EVERYTHING that walks by the house (event after trying to programatically limite the Alert zone. And I don't think I've EVER hear it ring. Always use wired camera devices.

The battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and doorbell settings that you select. You can extend the battery life by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events to monitor specific areas. You can choose which events your doorbell can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). Besides using activity zones, you can change the settings like adjusting video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events .
A chime is not included with every purchase of Nest doorbells. Thankfully, you can connect a Google speaker or display and set up visitor announcements to get notified when someone rings your doorbell when you’re home. You'll only get visitor announcements on your speakers and displays if they are set up in the same home as your doorbell in the Home app. Also, if you have Alexa, Google offers a Smart Home skill for integrating your Nest doorbell with Amazon's Alexa home control. Alexa can announce when someone presses the doorbell or when the doorbell detects motion or events. Visit the Google Nest Help Center to learn about how to control the Nest devices with Amazon Alexa.

Didn't record as long as I would have liked and notified me of things that weren't there. I would recommend for people who are Google device users, which I am not.
