Google Nest Battery Doorbell

It works well, its easy to set up, and having the option to wire it as well as use the battery is nice. It seems like it should last longer than 3 years though.

Great doorbell

Plus the app guides you through each step. Images are clear in the day and night. Face recognition is an added benefit and package detection works well. Hard wired mine so I wouldn't have to worry about recharging.

Users can extend the battery life of their camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios:
Busy: About 1 month battery life (About 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
Typical: About 2.5 months battery life (About 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
Quiet: About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)

I installed it about two weeks after delivery. At first, the camera began turning on and off repeatedly. I unmounted it and reinstalled it, which temporarily fixed the issue. However, after a power outage and Wi-Fi interruption, the same malfunction returned. When I contacted Best Buy to return it, I was told it was no longer eligible because it was beyond the return window. Be aware: the return policy is only 15 days. I then contacted Google support. The technician suggested a factory reset and asked me to install an app to guide me through the process, which required granting access to my phone. I became uncomfortable when I was prompted to enter my password while screen sharing, so I stopped the session. Overall, this experience was frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend the battery version of this doorbell.

Easy to use and customizable alerts

Easy set up especially with the Google eco system. The notifications aren’t as sensitive as the Ring which is nice and alerts can be broadcasted throughout the home via Google devices.

Not that good

I have to charge the battery weekly, it’s way bigger than the other Nest doorbell, and it doesn’t even connect to my doorbell wires (I used the recommended wires and connection). I brought this matter to Google customer service and they didn’t really help me. I like the other Nest doorbell more than this one.

It works , but the wired version is way better.

It takes forever to charge. It can fall off easier since you have to take it off to charge. We are currently renting so that is why we went with a battery one. We used to have the wired one when we owned a home and that one is miles apart better than this one. If you can wire one in then go with the other doorbell cam from google.

Picture quality is good and the camera has a nice range. Its a little on the large side but luckily it blends in well.
