Before getting this, my windsurfing videos were choppy because my voice didn’t always carry to the camera on the mast. Now they start and stop on the first command. Makes for great videos.

Seem a little costly but it was worth it i really enjoy it

Bought this product on two different occasions. This is what happened, the first time I bought it, the remo won’t charge and won’t turn on even after more than 2 hours of charging. Need to return the product and exchange it for a new one. This time around, same thing happened. Btw, my camera is up to date with firmware. I have to return this as well and bought instead the smart remote.

Purchased to use during my vacation to be Caribbean. While it’s a bummer this won’t work underwater, it is nice to be able to snap some pics or start video remotely. Every now and then I have issues with it but that’s probably just me not used to the function of it.

Once you get this thing programmed it works pretty good till the surrounding noise or wind noise gets up and then it’s spotty at best.

Originally bought the Hero5 Black and after using a few times I realized there wasn't an easy way to get the shots I wanted without this remote. Easily clips onto a shirt or swim trunks and you hardly notice that it's there.

Even though you can use voice commands with the Hero5 this accessory is great to have as and extender for long distance photos.

Unfortunately, I wasted time purchasing one of these remotes. None of them work and after purchasing one and it not working out of the box, then driving half an hour to exchange at another location, the second one had the same issue. They don't power on or charge, completely dead on arrival. I did a quick google and the problem is wide spread. The product is not on the GoPro website anymore. Don't buy one of these and go with the larger GoPro remote as it actually works. GoPro should recall this product or at least all the stock they have sitting out at retail.

This is a cool remote that pairs easily with the Hero5 via Blue Tooth. The voice command options are a great idea for GoPro to move towards, however; the technology is a little new and sometimes the remote has problems executing commands on the first attempt. Hopefully this can be created with a future firmware revision. At any rate, I still like the flexibility that these remotes offer. I haven’t used the remote in all situations such as loud background noise or situations where there is noise from the wind, so I cannot comment on that. My only complaint is that I wish that the remote had the capability to control multiple Hero5 cameras at the same time, hopefully this will be added as another feature in future releases and updates.

this is an excellent product, especially if you are using your go pro on the water, as it is waterproof and you dont have to worry about reaching for your camera to turn on and off

It helps in spontaneous moments, it is very useful when your gopro is out of reach (selfies or helmet). The only con it has you need to be checking that is not on because battery runs out other than that its a great remote.

Maybe it's user error, but the voice activation rarely worked for me, and I could barely ever even get these to connect to the GoPros, and I had several. It wasn't a one-off or bad unit. They were both the same. These need development.

I haven’t had the chance to use the voice part of the remote, but it has worked brilliantly so far as a normal remote. There are times I have the GoPro on a tripod or suction cup mount and this is perfect to use to start the Hero 5 recording.

my gopro, I love it, all I have to do is talk to it and it listen to all my orders and the quality of the video is amassing.

Works well for when you might have gloves on that would prevent using the controls. Just remember to sync and turn it on before use.
