Phone is easy to use, if you like a simple phone.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The volume on the phone is not great, if you have a hearing problem you won't hear it.

Super Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a super phone. Being primarily aimed at the older generation it works quite nicely. It has large text and icons making it easy to see and use. Menus are simple. Volume can be turned up. I bought this for my wife who is not at all techno savvy. She cannot use my Iphone but she likes and can use this phone. It is allowing her to learn to text and surf the net without the large keyboard of a desktop computer. It also has some medical capabilities if you need them. We don't, so I cannot speak for those functions. The best part about this phone is the cost. It is much less expensive than the main stream phones and it doesn't cost a fortune for monthly service. I would recommend it highly for some one that has a landline and just needs a part time cell phone. As this is a new phone the only thing I cannot answer is the dependability. I hope that it turns out to be a quality device. I will give an update later to let you know how well it holds up.

Great Cell Phone for Mom
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cell phone has categories easily recognized with large fonts. It is a smart phone with a Jelly Bean Android operating system. The service is provided through Verizon wireless and the the company is greatcall.com. Setting up the system is a breeze and the support has been great. The online account management has all the attributes as that of one of the mainstream companies. Monthly prepaid access allows for roll over minutes and you can manage your account online. Making changes is also important so you can base the service on usage that is monitored via the online account. It has a wonderful interface with a GMAIL account and the email, contacts, photos, calendar, etc. all sync seamlessly! Mom's previous phone was a Windows OS with all the tiles and confusion that makes the novice user a frustrated consumer. Most importantly, the service comes with a "5 Star Urgent Response Button" where highly trained agents can help at anytime. They know your location via GPS tracking and can be super effective under emergency situations!

Good phone easy to use.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jitterbug Smart Phone is easy to set up and use. It was very helpful that it came with a user guide that didn't have to be downloaded from the internet. The screen display has large icons so that it is easier to use than traditional smartphones. The only downside is that it takes too long to power up if you are in a hurry and needed access quickly.

Great phone for a senior or non techie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my 86 year old father who will likely only use the phone and maybe text. It was important to have a full keyboard and for him not to press “2” three times to get the letter C. I customized the home screen to ONLY include phone and text icons. Instead of “contacts” it’s called “People.” The font is really large and the volume is loud. I really liked the simplicity of the phone and I spent a lot of time researching it. The staff at the Best Buy store told me it wasn’t available to see in person and I had to order it online. Wrong. Their Best Buy Mobile store at the mall had them in stock.

Great Phone!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jitterbug's Smartphone is so easy to use. For a smart phone the cost was within reason. In addition, the prepaid options are perfect for someone that uses their phone for convenience rather than constantly. This phone offers pretty much the same apps and functions as other more expensive phones but is a whole lot easier to understand and use. We did find that the manual did not cover a couple of the functions that were possible to use on this phone but after calling customer service at Great Call, they were able to walk us through the process quickly and efficiently.

Great phone tough to activate
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Senior husband could not operate a standard cellphone so tried jitterbug. Menus laid out very easy and he can now make own phone calls. Getting phone activated is another story. Tried setting it up for husband by internet. By morning phone not activated. Trying to call for activation means going through many options until you get a live voice. Because i set the phone up in my husbands name and did not put my name on account i created a soon to be nightmare. So beware if you set this up for someone else you will not be able to get into the account for changes if you are a caretaker. Horrible customer service for a easy and good phone. Everything business wise done by phone.

Great phone for someone new to smart phones.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding instructions that are clear and understandable, written so that a newbie can get up and running quickly. The phone is easy to use and has many of the features that the expensive phones have, some of which surprised me. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone.

A great phone for my 88 year old Mom.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for a smart phone that would be easy for my 88 year old Mom to use. She previously had a smart phone from Verizon, but had a hard time using it. Everything about the phone was small and confusing for her. Plus, she only had the minimum service because she couldn't afford more. She had to pay long distant charges to call outside her city limits. With the Great Call Jitterbug, everything is big and easy for her to see. It has been easy for her to figure out how to use it. The service plan is very affordable and with many more features included in the price; texting, voicemail, data package, and long distance. It definitely is the right phone for her and only cost $149 at Best Buy!

This is an easy to use smart phone for seniors.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great phone and easy to use. We chose the HUGE font so it is easy to read. We have not figured out how to save texted images to the gallery and the manual does not explain this. There should be a way. Right?

Well done!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Jitterbug Smart Phone for my dad (83 yrs old) because he enjoys using technology to keep in touch with family, and it has worked out perfectly. The phone is big enough to fit comfortably in my dad's hand and has many customizable features he really enjoys. Dad can easily text his nephews or call his friends with the touch of a button. Most of the phone's functions are easy enough to use without reading the instruction manual but some are more challenging. My dad hasn't made use of some of the upgraded medical features but those are optional so we can decide if we want to keep them. No contracts; low price; easy and fun to use. My dad's favorite feature is the Photo Album! Overall, this is a wonderful phone for an older person who likes technology.

Not what i expected for elderly mom
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased phone for senior mom, she wanted to transfer her current minute phone number to jitterbug phone, took about 3 days for number to transfer and before mom could actually use the phone to receive a call. I was surprised that the 5star emergency service cost extra outside of the minutes you sign up for, and there is an upfront activation fee of 35.00 plus tax. The apps are easy to understand, but navigating from one screen to another takes some time to learn and if your buying for someone elderly who doesnt use the internet you will have to use your email account to sign in to the phone. Long process to set up with phone rep but they are very friendly.

Great Calls Jitterbug Smart Phone and 5 Star
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many choices of phones and plans with less cost. I chose the Jitterbug Smart Phone which eliminates the use of my alert system that only goes 300 ft. The other features I think are great and 3 choices there also. Especially for me for emergencies Health and Safety, 5 Star, Urgent Care, Great Call Link to Family, Med Coaches, Checkup Calls etc. You couldn't ask for more. I just got mine setup and it was so easy. I called in and talked to a PERSON right away. She helped me not only set it up but get my number from my old phone for me. I couln't even get a person on the phone with my previous cell company and when I went to their store they said no they wouldn't help. The gal from Great Calls showed me what to do and also about the Tutitoials on line. This is the best experience I have had with a cell phone company or any company for that matter. I'm a happy Grandmother!

Phone is promising, still a challenge at this time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are senior citizens with limited cell phone experience, so simplicity of use is important to us. The write-ups on this phone were favorable for simplicity,so that is why we purchased the Jitterbug. After one weeks use, we are still facing some challenges with our phone. We hope that with increased use, we can take full advantage of the many features the Jitterbug offers. We do not expect to be able to do all that younger folks do with the phone, but do aspire to be more accessible when away from a landline phone, and also have emergency access when needed. We hope to achieve this with use, practice, and reference to the useful aids you make available.

Could use the first time without any trouble
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not one to keep my cell phone on continuously, but felt a need to use one occasionally for various reasons. I also need to text family members occasionally, so didn't want to spend a great deal of money on a phone or service provider. The Jitterbug and Great Call service provided me with what I need at this time. Great Call has a choice of plans that fit the "senior" age group, and the phone provides all the options I need--text messages, phone, internet, camera, calendar, plus more--at a cost lower than any of the plans I have come across. The User Guide that comes with it is written well, has a good index, and complete instructions. The letters/numbers/symbols are spaced so it is easy to get my messages right the first time. Whenever I have had a question, the User Guide has solved my problem. I am happy with my phone and recommend it.
