Phone is easy to use, if you like a simple phone.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The volume on the phone is not great, if you have a hearing problem you won't hear it.

Great Call CS lacking & Jitterbug manual useless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose Jitterbug smart ph for reduced cell ph cost, no contracts & reduced monthly charges. The Jitterbug smart ph was set incorrectly at factory & unable to display the proper screens to pick up incoming calls or texts. The manual that comes with the ph is useless to troubleshoot problems. Their CSR admitted this factory setting has been a problem. Calls are rushed. The CSR told me she only had so many minutes to stay on a call, therefore resolving problems is ineffective. Eventually, I was connected to tech support who reset the phone & showed me that there is both a Jitterbug & Android format on the phone. In Jitterbug format, there is little a consumer can do to change settings. In Android format, the consumer has full access to all Android features. The Jitterbug smart ph is marketed to senior citizens as easy to use. I strongly disagree. Perhaps the Jitterbug flip ph is better for seniors. It is very easy to hit a wrong button on the smart ph that can totally affect usage & the consumer cannot resolve problems using the manual. Calling CS first level support is useless & I found the tech support knowledgeable but very condescending, argumentative & set on making it clear that it was I who caused the problem when in fact it was defective from the start. I bought my ph at Best Buy. The sales person told me my contacts & photos could be transferred from my iphone when in fact they could not. Another Best Buy employee told me they could be transferred via blue tooth. It didn't work for me.

Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is not easy to use! We bought this phone for my mother-in-law who is 85 to upgrade from her flip phone and have sent it back and went back to her old phone. It is NOT intuitive and the instructions are minimal and confusing. We could barely figure it out and she cried constantly just trying to answer it when it rang because it was difficult to slide. Unless you are already familiar with smart phones, I would avoid this one as a starter

Not really unlocked
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for my dad who we include on our unlimited Verizon plan. Wanted something simple and easy to use and this seemed like just the thing. Great Call said their phones were "100% unlocked" and they use the Verizon network for their own plan. I assumed that I could just add to my Verizon plan. Unfortunately, they are incompatible and the cynic in me suspects that is an intentional decision to prevent using the phone outside the Great Call network. The phone is cheap and they don't charge to move onto another network (something I would have willingly paid) so it looks like their business model is more based on monthly churn than hardware adoption. In any event, good phone for seniors if you are willing to stay on their janky plan but not if you want to include in an existing family plan.

Slow and unresponsive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the size and weight are to my liking, the rest of the phone is not. The phone is slow to respond with any apps. The internal memory barely is able to store but a few pictures and videos. Sound quality is poor and when making calls phone suddenly hangs up in middle of conversation. Besides the weight, the only other thing in it's corner is it does appear to be durable. I'm hard on phones and it does hold up better than most smart phones. But for the $130 I spent on it, it is not worth it at all.

don't buy.it!!!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only had this phone for almost 3 weeks and I totally regret it for so many reasons that I couldn't fit it all. What really upsets me is I normally take out the extended warrant but the price was kind of high and the sales assoc agreed the other thing that makes me upset is that Best Buy only gives you two weeks to return an item. I went back on 7/5/ it expired on 7.4/ and they were not open on that day it's a holiday is that my fault? that is not enough time in my opinion not even close especially for something like this

Not accessible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This may be a great phone. However, we discovered that there is NOWHERE that you can observe and look at it to determine if it is what is good for you. Then upon ordering and receiving it, we found out we could not even try it out until we spent $35 (non-refundable) to activate it. So, if you want to spend your money to decide you like or don't like an item--go for the Jitterbug!!

Much higher expectations...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this would be a good way to go to introduce a "smart phone" to my mother. Unfortunately, the UI is just clunky and was too hard to use and the voice control is not up to par with other devices. Doing it again, I would go with a different device - in fact I am in the process of switching now.

Not easy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far we are having a devil of a time just answering this phone. It is my first smart phone, but neither of my daughters who have smart phones can figure it out either. Making a phone call is impossible too. I got it so I could get phone calls in the car. But it isn't worth the hassle.

You get what you pay for.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sorry, but when people talk about "dropped calls" they need to get a Great Call "Jitterbug". You will appreciate everything else you have. I have to constantly beat on it when I am finished with a call because it refuses to go off.

Hidden fees
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Phone is ok, but uses their network only! It has really small and expensive data plans and customer service is more concerned about selling than helping.

I wish I didn't buy it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my Aunt that is in a nursing home. She is having a terrible time holding the phone and hearing on it. Plus where the on off button is she is constantly turning it off.

Couldn't it be a bit tougher?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A small amount of diet coke was spilled on this phone, with a case and screen protector on it, and it blew the phone. Also, watch out what apps you may put on there, even simple ones. It seems to want to suck data right out of the air. Go get a regular carrier smart phone and set it up for seniors to use. Android does good with that these days. And that tracking software for Great Call is terrible.
