Worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is great but the factory settings for the picture were brutal! The brightness and backlight were turned up to a point where it may have looked good in a show room but it was blinding in my family room. I found excellent advice for fixing this on Youtube. Only other issue is that the view of this TV is only average if viewing from too much of an angle.

STOP! Read this review before you purchase this TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned two Hisense TV's prior to this purchase which I have been perfectly happy with relative to what I spent on them. So with that experience, when I read the reviews on this unit I felt confident in this purchase. Well now.... not so much. I have a Samsung AU8000 TV at home and compared to this TV it has a much better and brighter picture than this unit. I guess maybe the people who have written these reviews have not compared these two units side by side? I feel like the picture quality on this unit is comparable to my other OLDER Hisense TV's that I spent hundreds LESS on. IE I feel that I could have gotten a cheaper TV and gotten this much picture performance or alternatively SHOULD have spent just $50 MORE and gone with an AU8000 series from Samsung and gotten the picture quality and brightness I now know exists in this price point. If you can't get somewhere and compare these two units to one another, trust this review, go with the Samsung, you'll thank me later. Best Buy sells both these TV's Best Buy please leave this review up or let me swap my Hisense out for a Samsung. (I would buy a Hisense again in a heartbeat, just in a lower price point where the picture meets the expectations of what it costs)

Feature rich 4K TV with an entry level price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense U6G brings a lot of features in the entry level 4K TV market, with the highlights being Quantum LED, full array local dimming, and Android TV. Unboxing this TV was a chore. It says to use two people, and for the best experience you should. Actually, getting it out of the box wasn't the hard part - getting the tape off of the border of the casing and screen of the TV was. It was VERY sticky and I thought for sure I was going to break the screen getting it off. If you just want to stream, you literally need only a power cord - this TV has built in Wi-Fi and the setup process was fairly easy. Like most devices, there's a couple of EULAs you have to agree to. If you have a Google account, you can easily connect it to your Google account during this process and have access to all of your compatible, purchased apps - as well as you will be signed into popular Google apps like YouTube. I do watch a lot of YouTube - it's my primary source of content. The built-in YouTube app works great with YouTube Premium and displays 4K content very nicely. Displaying the youtube "Stats for Nerds" shows this TV has no issues with buffers, etc.. Audio/Video sync is perfect. For most of my non-YouTube content, I do use an AppleTV 4K unit. The AppleTV 4K works perfectly with this TV, including HDMI-CEC to allow the AppleTV remote to be the only remote you need to control this TV - including power on / power off. The TV also got the name of the AppleTV and automatically renamed the HDMI input to match the name of the AppleTV. Of note, when switching input to the AppleTV 4K or at initial power-on, it does display the "Dolby Vision" logo. Though the picture looks great on this TV, I can't discern exactly what Dolby Vision is buying me without a side by side comparison, which is impossible to do at home. I do have a Netflix 4K subscription and did search for some content both in 4K as well as some that supposedly supports Dolby Vision. Again, without a side-by-side comparison, it's hard to tell what it looks like with or without Dolby Vision Enabled. With that being said, 4K content looks great. Full array local dimming really shows as blacks are deep black, even when brighter colors are present on other parts of the screen. 1080p/1080i/720p content looks great as well. I do use this TV in my office, so I do not have it connected to an external sound bar / home theater system. With that being said, the internal speakers in this TV work well for built in speakers. It fills my room with sound at an adequate listening volume. I also have this TV mounted on a single-arm articulating mount. Mouting was easy and the VESA 300x200 mounting points in the TV are adequately strong. The TV weighs about 32 pounds and is about 3 inches thick, so it should work with most mounts. Of note, I did run into a limitation with the AT&T TV Now app - it is what we use for "cable like" content - unfortunately AT&T puts restrictions on what devices the app will run on and Android TV is not one of the supported Android devices, so I have to run that app on my AppleTV. (Useful info in case you wanted to lean entirely on AndroidTV as your streaming platform.) Also, it does state that it is compatible with Amazon Alexa, however I was not able to get to the registration website - it keeps timing out. Overall, this TV brings a lot of bang for the buck when comparing against other units in the price range. After using this TV, I'm super happy I selected this model.

Speculative at first, relieved I went with this.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased because my previous Westinghouse tv suddenly wouldn’t turn on. Found that it’s common on that brand. Looked around and saw this Hisense with hdr and compared it with Samsung, LG, and another brand that I can’t recall right now. For the price and size with hdr, I pulled the trigger on this one. Plus I have had issues with Samsungs wifi. After using this Hisense as a computer monitor and to stream movies, it’s ridiculously awesome. Love it and first time I use this brand.

High rated budget, but overall poor choice.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Based on the glowing reviews I thought this would be a good option for a bedroom TV….after a few weeks just could not get the picture dialed in to match my 7 year old mid range samsung. The good: Really great color and contrast. ULED shines here. Google OS is good. The bad: looks blurry on 4K Netflix or prime video, no edge detail….absolutely terrible on 720P1080i streaming tv or Pluto …..4K test images on YouTube look great but real content just looks blurred, any sharpness level causes the image to flicker. Noise reduction settings make it worse. Sound was also poor, despite the Dolby atmos setting. This is actually my second unit, the first had a red spot the size of a finger between the screen layers, this unit was better and had good uniformity,, but just an overall blurry image. Motion: I don’t like the soap opera effect, but the poor motion on this tv is also adding to the already unclear image. I like auto brightness as I watch this in the bedroom in the dark and daytime and don’t want to play with picture settings. Unfortunately the Brightness sensor does not work on Dolby vision content, which makes bedroom viewing a hassle to manually switch to dark mode on Netflix. I got this to replace an Insignia F50 which had uniformity issues (black banding)….TBH Insignia had better sound, and a much sharper image. Similar black levels but lack of a light sensor was also a deal breaker. Bottom line….after two of these and a defective Insignia F50 I gave up on the cheap TVs and dropped the cash on an LG OLED. Honestly if you can afford it skip these cheap Hisense/TCL units, you will regret it after the return period. Really not the deal they seem to be, despite high test scores they just don’t do a good job for “watching” tv. Spare bedroom / guest tv only!!!

Running the PS5 in 60hz
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well picked it up to use with my ps5 but the quality just wasn’t their,. Videos looked good and it has some nice colors with the Uled., but the 60hz and no hdmi 2.1 Just didn’t run the ps5 to its full potential. So for an extra $508 I had to go with the 55in Sony X85J 4K., 120hz HDMI 2.2 and HDR ., Definitely worth it in my opinion.!

Great "budget" TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality of the Hisense 55” U6G is great! I was extremely surprised by this, especially for a "budget" TV. The setup was a breeze using the remote control. Most of the streaming apps are preloaded, but additional apps can be easily be added through the Play Store. What blows me away is the amazing picture quality, colors are vibrant and crisp with resolution support up to 4K. The sound quality is decent but this is expected for modern TVs. I highly recommend this television.

Good TV. Good Price. Lacking some features.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is very good for its price. Speaker quality is decent enough to use, but nothing amazing. It does make for a decent gaming display. However it doesn't have variable refresh rate or hdmi 2.1 support, so if these features are important to you, compare it to other tvs first. Overall, it's a good tv at a good price.

Great 4K UHD smart tv at a great prie!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this tv! Originally bought a Samsung 55" tv, but returned it because the brightness was too dark for my taste. I read review after review and finally decided on this Hisense Quantum ULED 4K tv. The picture quality is very good and the colors are vivid. At first I thought the legs were too small for the size of the tv, but they seem to be holding the weight just fine. Would recommend this tv to others.
