My son bought me Google home for Christmas. Omg. I loved it!!! Our friends love it. We play trivia games at parties and the guests all say I have to get one!! I ask it questions all day long. I play music all day long. The speaker is so incredible. The sound has such quality! I bough another one for our summer home. I bought one for My Grandson who is 12.
I can't say enough about this product.....,!!!!

My daughter says she doesn't want one. But I think she needs one. So I'm going to set it up at my house and when she sees it working she'll ask to take it home.

Google Home is super easy to use and extremely helpful to assist with easy, every day tasks. For example, setting a timer, playing music, giving traffic, weather, etc. I gave it a 4 only because I haven't used it as much as I'd like and because I think Google could have done better with design and offered optional colors. But overall it's a keeper!! I can't wait to see what additional devices I can buy to link to Google Home.

Google Home is a great home assistant. Works with Nest, Samsung Hub so it controls most of the house. Features are being added all the time, including calling.

I have two of these and love them. I also have 4 Nest minis and many other products attached to my google home. I find the sound to be a but bass heavy for corner placement , but that means I can place it just about anywhere and get decent sound. It is a much better device than the Echo that is collecting dust in my laundry room.

This device never gets old for me since day one simply because it gets updated constantly. I love how the google assistant interact with you instead of sounding like a robot that's just giving you information. Google home added with the chromecast tv and radio is perfect for me. If I'm bored and want to catch a movie on Netflix or listen to a specific song on my stereo I just say it! And it plays it.

As a Google user, this seemed like a natural purchase to compliment the Amazon Echo Dot I already had. They both are fun and have their own strong and weak points.
Google home allows me to tie into my Google music library so I can play songs I already own and have uploaded to Google Music. This allows me to listen to music I own and not subscribe to a music service unless I want to. Sometimes Google will claim it can't find a song or artist I know I have and will play music from a similar "station" instead. That can be frustrating and will hopefully improve with time.
The Home allows you to cast to Chromecast devices. I use this most to cast music to a Chromecast audio attached to my home stereo. This allows me to play music from my library through a nice sound system This is all done by voice via the Google Home.
The Google home does not appear to link with as many automation products as the Echo products but is adding new partners on a regular basis.
Where the Google Home shines is its ability to tap into Google search for answers. The general knowlege questions are answered more often on my Google Home than they are on the Echo Dot. Amazon does not have the vast search history that Google does so it does not have answers as often as Google. As an example, Echo was able to list nearby emergency rooms but could not give me directions. Google Home gave me the closet emergency room and gave me directions to get there.
The Google Home is a fun device and it keeps getting better as Google adds features.

I love the Google Home, it's a lot of fun. Google needs to work on expanding and refining the quality of the voice recognition, but it's still pretty darn good and a handy little item to have around the house. The speaker is great and it's funny to hear Google Home answer the TV when there is a Google Home commercial playing. There are six colorful bases that you can buy as an option to match your decor as an option too.

Be aware of what you are getting. It's good and ties in well with existing Google Play services. I also got an Amazon Echo the following week at a conference. So lots of this well be comparing the two. GH has MUCH better voice recognition and can answer follow up questions. However its pretty new and many companies haven't incoproated it into their API. Amazon has much more companies using it but voice recognition is lacking.

I'm a big fan of Google and I think this is a great step into entering the Smart Home realm. I do enjoy Amazon and am a Prime member so I have considered their product as well. I decided to go with Google Home because of their enormous knowledge base that is always growing and so far it seems to be improving by the day and I see it being the "voice" to have for years come. The other positive is it's cheaper.

I got this for my 77yo mother for Mother's Day. She lives far enough away that I could not help her set it up, but she and my dad (80yo) were able to get it going and she loves it. Not sure what she uses it for, but my nephew got them set up with some music streaming service (she couldn't remember which one) that also works in her car (a Lexus) and she thinks it is great! So, it must be easy to use :)

In comparing Google Home and Amazon Echo, Home got better reviews for numerous reasons. These are exactly true. A bit more difficult to set up, but once done, awesome.

Bought this Google Home as a 2nd device to our original. Works great because we use it fully (meaning for more than just music). You could really use a Google mini to do most of the same chores, but the big sound in such a small package helps to make this worth it. Always check for the updates as to it's new abilities and it'll show it's worth for some time to come.

I come from the day of big really expensive stereo equipment. I find that its really wonderful to ask google to play an artist or type of music. I think the sound quality is very good also. My mother and sister have the Bose Wave Radio / CD. Based upon the price, I believe that the sound quality is impressive. My little bride really enjoys asking Google questions and for her this also really neat. John
