I purchased the google assistant and so much love it. Makes my everyday life easy. Just speak into it and viola!

Bought this for a friend's dad for Xmas and heads up it doesn't work on low internet quality. We tried setting it up on his WiFi hotspot as well with no results.

I've been a fan of amazon alexa since the beginning. I figured I'd try out the new google home to compare. The google home doesn't compare in regards to home automation as alexa does so much more. The response time on the google home is very good and is able to answer many questions that you throw at it. I'm hoping that google adds more automation to this device in the near future. The product is nice looking and not too obtrusive. Overall, a nice product to use for information but lacking home automation.

I brought this to play music at my bedroom. It comes with so much features that I interface with other wireless outlet/ devices.

Better than the amazon alexa. Gives better sound. And now recognizes multiple users voices and gives different info.

Pro: Integrates with deeper google searches Speakers are much better sounding than Alexa's. Works very well with some Google Tools Cons: Inability to use multiple accounts. Alexa had a great experience switching between family member's accounts. Better User experience. Syncs with many more apps. Summary: Google's hardware seems better. The capability is there, but they need to release more features.

So first, when you install it, you have to disable any Wifi optimization on your phone like auto-switch between wifi and 4G as your android phone will have to connect directly to home using a hotspot not yet connected to internet. If you miss this, the installation just keeps waiting. Once this is done, you think you will enjoy it straight forward, but the setup is asking you many things to confirm. When finally you are done, you can add your smartthings things to manage, but frankly, this is really more gadget than useful as it only manages the switch things category, it cannot read other sensors or things. Finally, you start playing and here is the nightmare starting: every single command has to start by the Hey/OK Google. Where Amazon Echo seems to be a person/assistant, Google brings their company in your house which is kind of annoying. Then you cannot have a continuous discussion like: what is the weather in SF today? How about tomorrow? No, you have to say: Hey google, what is the weather in SF today? Hey google, how about the weather in SF tomorrow? Then, you realize that listening music through a speaker in the same room or having you child making some noise will just prevent the Hey/OK google from being detected and when detected, a lot of commands are not understood using natural language while Amazon Echo works perfectly using same kind of sentences. And it has no humor... Check the screenshot I attach... So I am returning this product tomorrow. Bad product definition and user experience.

Pretty smart. Went for this instead of Alexia, figure Google will be smarter in the long run. Answers most questions, not enough info sometimes, example, ask who stars in a certain TV show and Google will give two names and say "and five others". Not complete. Ask it the same question a different way and it may give you all the stars in the show. It will get smarter. Since it's always listening, you paranoids like me can tell it to shut off the mike and push a button to turn it back on, nice feature.

Easy to operate ans quick to answer any question. Clean looking, nice volume control and fits anywhere in the home.

This is a better device assistant then the other voice-activated devices but needs a bit more work. Not a great time to purchase one. Price doesn't measure up...

I have an Echo so I am comparing this to the Echo. The Google Home has a lot to offer but at the moment the Echo is just better.

Very easy to set up... I think a little bettter than the echo dot in terms of immersion. Works great with my Phillips hue lights

This speaker is great. They still need to work on the local news but at least I can hear news in the morning :)

bought this for my husband that is in a wheelchair and unable to use his arms very much. I linked this to the Harmony remote and he now can turn on and off the TV with voice commands as well as change channels and volume. Excellent for him. The only criticism is that it doesn't always "hear" the command and does something else. So, he has to repeat it a few times. This doesn't happen always but would be a little nicer to have the voice pick up a little better tuned in. Otherwise great product.

Better then mini for sure Glad I got this over mini.

This is a good product. We ask to hear today's news or today's hits but some things you ask for aren't available unfortunately.

First time using this product. Very helpful, better than mini version. Its bigger but better quality for all

This tells you an answer to every question you ask it. It also plays music with great sound quality. You should get one.

Have this and a few home minis and this definitely sounds better. Love the google assistant.

Google Home is pretty awesome. Music and weather at your fingertips, plus control smart home devices like Nest.
