Smart device, just not as functional as Alexa
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It's an Alexa with Google. It's like Alexa, but without all the functionality... so far. I use Alexa way more than the Google Home. Even with chromecasts, it's just not as clean of an interface and ease of use... but if you're on the google/android ecosystem, then this is a great option. Had great sync options... although can only link to one google account. On the other hand, if you have a Amazon prime account, I'd go with an alexa dot.

The start of something big

However, it doesn't seem to be doing that yet. We get a fair number of "I don't understand" responses so we are still learning how to interact. I set up a connection to my Nest Thermostat but it doesn't respond to "what is the temperature in my house?" Cool toy and I'm sure I'll learn more about what I can do as I use it.

Excellent voice recognition

Every other device I've used, including the Amazon competitor felt like I had to speak deliberately and change my speech patterns to what it expected. With the Home, I can speak much more naturally and its awesome. I didn't realize how much brain energy is used when modifying your speech to match what a device is looking for until I didn't have to.
