Google home is great if you are just getting into home automation. It doesn't have all the features that Echo has, but that will change soon. I personally believe that Google is a better company than Amazon on the software end, and that's why I'm ok with not having as many features out of the box right away. They will come.

Detects wake word even from remote parts of hallways given the ambience is quiet. Does a lot of things. Doesn't a lot of things. Still has lots of room for improvement. With reg to sound quality, can't reduce the bass is a minus. Given it is Google and is in it's early stage, there'd be definitely a lot on the roadmap..

Easy to use and the learning curve is not that hard

Google Home is helpful and extremely fast when wanting to just listen to music or watch a movie. Quick responses and fast reaction time when asking questions. It's ability to control my Chromecasts is even better than from a phone or laptop. Can't wait to get more IoT devices and learn what else Home can do!

I have it in the kitchen and find in great for list

It's amazing how well it understands normal human speech and patterns. Things can be said in a variety of ways and Google Home will understand. To get a preview of how the device operates, I suggest downloading the Google Assistant, which is the same AI packed into the convenience of your mobile device.

Purchased this speaker first...then two mini speakers. I personally like the clarity of the mini speakers better and rarely use this speaker. Not sure if the other two will work without this one???

I bought the Google Home because there is no point in ignoring the future of communications. It was very easy to set up and it handles all the standard questions (time, weather, news) quite admirably. I've been checking You Tube for "How to" videos and it shows the potential for this marvelous gadget!

Using my google home in an environment where smarthtings/iftt/harmony hub was established before hand. Dropped it in and linked it to my services and besides a few tweaks here and there everything is working great! Love the Tunein radio integration as well. Looking forward to the updates google has in store.

I bought google home over alexa for its future functionality. Voice recognition works ok, but it can't hear us in the living room 20' away if it is placed on the counter with a wall between us. It can control our Nest and SmartThings lights by voice control. We can also play video on our TV by voice using Chromecast HD.

Easy to set up and pretty easy to learn how to use

For the price the product is great, user friendly.

I am a huge google fan and so far I am not impressed. It works great to play my music but not to answer questions. It knows nothing. I am far more impressed with the Echo show. I plan to give it more time and pass to my daughter who has Pixel 2.

My husband was making me crazy asking me to look things up on the internet all of the time (because he didn't want to). Now he asks Google (instead of me) and there is PEACE in my home! He talks to it all day, cracks dad jokes, and plays music.

I own an Amazon Echo. The Google Home Assistant is definitely friendlier and the ability to play Youtube is a huge plus. Unfortunately, the lack of skills is it's biggest downfall (for now). I'm sure in the future when more skills are developed, it will be more of a contender to the echo. Until then, the Echo still wins.
