This game will not have the greatest graphics it does have some glitches but I still enjoy it a lot. Something out of the ordinary. This game is not for everybody. Don't go by the reviews, just rented if your are not sure if you are not going to like it.

I've been waiting for this Game's release since b4 the holidays! Being from the Philly area I had to get this game! The skyline, and center city scenery is on point, minus the NK invasion, Lol, also the surrounding Philly streets give u that real life scenario feeling if this were to happen! This game has an original feel and storyline to it which is refreshing! I recommend at least giving it a try!

2016 had many terrible games released, with Homefront: The Revolution being tagged as the worst of the worst from that year. Despite a fairly large ad campaign and hype, the game failed to set the world on fire, with largely terrible reviews and glitches galore, it went to the $20 rack a couple months later. Everyone claimed that it is one of the worst games ever made, but is it truly worthy of that title? The story is set in an alternate not-too-distant future, with North Korea leading the world, and the US owing trillions to Korea, and when we can't pay, they take over the States, to "improve" our lives. You play a resistance fighter, heck bent on rescuing the leader of the resistance and ending the Korean occupation. The story is decent enough, enough to make it playable for the 15-20 hours you play, but with clichéd characters and plot lines, it fails to breathe life into the FPS genre. Graphics, and especially the lighting effects are terrific, with some environments looking the same but the day and night lighting is a looker. Sound effects are nothing special but do the job and controls and gunplay do well enough, as well. Game play overall is fun enough, but some things take time to get used to. I like the concept of swapping out different guns (From pistol of SMG) and the potential of the RC cars, but it seems shoehorned in on the last months of development. Missions can be repetitive and the ending fails to truly satisfy (The DLC ends the storyline with satisfaction, but paying more than the game costs for each one is hard to justify) but it is far from the worst game of 2016, let alone ever. It is painfully average with some good ideas executed none to well. The Day 1 exclusive from Best Buy is like the game, okay but not the best. The steelbook is well-built and fairly sturdy, but the DLC isn't great, mainly just weapons and no extra DLC, unfortunately. Worth the $12.99 but not for all tastes.

This title was riddled with bugs when it first launched, but since then the dev team has zapped these bugs and have been brought support for both PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. There was always some fun to be had with this game but it was always buried under jank. That jank is no more.

A lot of complaints early on about Homefront: The Revolution being glichty and buggy. I'm only about 7 hrs in, but feel most, if not all, of those issues have been addressed in subsequent patches. A very fun, first person shooter with a Metro feel to it. I like this game.

Wasn't sure if I would get this cause I hate red dawn, and this game was passed through a few developers. Graphics are great most of the time, controls are awesome but has very repetitive gameplay like the division which is a big downfall. This review is based off of single player campaign as I have yet totry multi/co-op

I had heard this game was mediocre from some players and good from others, so when it was on sale at Best Buy, I decided to give it a try. For the sale price, it was worth it. Read the reviews and watch game play videos before you buy it to make sure it's right for you.

This game is better than what it has been reviewed as, but still not as great. I would give this a 6.5/10 as it's still fun to play, but the difficulty level is infuriating. The premise of the story is that the US has fallen on virtual economic ruin and a North Korean (Samsung-esque) company comes to bail the US out but becomes an occupying force. As my son pointed out, the city of Philadelphia has more in common with Boston from Fallout rather than an economically poor Philly. Buildings are destroyed and nearly leveled and looks more like a war was fought than an occupying relief army is there. It plays well, except for the overwhelming amount of enemies who flock to kill you when you are discovered. This can be maddening. Overall, I still like to play it and have got my money's worth despite its shortcomings.

This is an excellent sandbox first person shooter. The game is very pretty but, comes at a price. You will rarely ever see this game rise above 20 frames per second which makes it almost impossible to be a force not to be reckoned with. You will die often due to the response time. You can adapt but, it will be at your own frustration. The guerilla style gameplay and liberating towns can feel rewarding and quite fun. This game is in need of a major patch that the developers promise it will get. This game is currently discounted so, you can still have fun while you wait and support the company. I would hate to see such potential of a franchise get destroyed because, someone was stupid and let it out the door a bit too early before it was finished. A game that has great potential but, needs to be fixed.

I bought this in October and it is on Patch 1.10. The patches help improve the frame rate and certainly make this playable. This game is like a poor man's Far Cry in a urban environment which could have been awesome if they executed everything properly. Alas the shooting feels awful (until you upgrade your guns and then it still feels off but not awful like in the beginning) and the enemies spawn in numbers out of nowhere at times which can make things very annoying. The story is meh and the characters are OK I suppose. I can see why so many people hate this game even after all the patches. That being said, this game has its moments where it can be REALLY FUN. The gun customization is really cool, the setting is cool, and it can be addicting to try and complete all the side objectives in each of the zones (like in a Far Cry game). Now that this game is patched I can recommend this when it is under $20. Also it has a co-op mode which can be enjoyable for a few hours but not more than that as it gets repetitive. In my opinion it is an average game that could have been so much more. Set your expectations low and you can have some fun but it stinks that they couldn't make a proper urban Far Cry-like game.

As a person who lives most of the time in Philadelphia I had been extremely excited about an open world game set in Philly once this game had been announced. Then the title got bounced around between multiple different developers and it disappeared for a bit. Then it came back to awful reviews but still I wanted to try it because of my desire to explore Philly in a video game, boy was I wrong. The story itself seems like it would be interesting but you don't get a chance to experience it because the bugs are just that bad. The gunplay is awful, the learning curve is steep, the glitches happen every other minute, and sometimes the game just freezes for no reason. The potential was there but the game itself is just unplayable. It feels like a game in its Alpha stage, no one should play this.

Good game to fill time in between maybe another game. The story was kind of weird in the begining though it came together better later on. Game play was on par with the first one but idk if that good when you compare it to other shooters. They added a lot of game mechanics though which made it more skill based(ex you can mid guns). All in all its not a true sequal so buy it as a independent game and for $20 cheaper than any other game like it its a decent play but you'll probably end up stopping to play another game better.
