I'm really impressed with this laptop I was able to play KILLER INSTINCT on this laptop unlike my older Sony Vaio Laptop from 2011 that I still have because the specs were so outdated on the Vaio that I had to upgrade to a new laptop problems were starting to occur but I've had that laptop for 8yrs for that amount of time it was really good. Everything about this HP is really fast with its SSD & the 8GB of ram really good!!. I highly recommend this PC for anyone who's looking to upgrade or just for minimal gaming it is a gaming PC & it came out this yr which is amazing for its price & specs aren't really that bad.

Great purchase and great value.

Bought this laptop for my nephew because he was taking summer college classes and his pervious laptop was not working with zoom!! When it came I was looking forward to a tinny laptop only to see this hug hammer on my table lol very big but it get the job down. He just took is final exam on Tuesday and had a reward ceremony online with classmate. The price was good at the moment I couldn’t let this deal go by again.

Hinges Locked Up...Yes, The Laptop HINGES

This laptop has decent components inside, but the cheap plastic case is pure junk. Around month 18, the hinges for opening and closing the laptop froze up. So just attempting to open the screen and use the laptop resulted in pieces of plastic inside the casing simply breaking into pieces. I have owned probably 12 laptops over the past 20 years and I have never, ever even heard of one that had hinges lock up. Obviously, a laptop that can't be opened and used becomes worthless...UNLESS you purchased an extended warranty. Shortly after buying this laptop at Best Buy, I either received an email from HP or was just poking around the HP website but I was offered an HP 3 year Pickup and Return Support w/Accidental Damage Protection for $58.95. Since I have another HP laptop with a hard drive that burned up in the first year and had to be replaced, I invested that $58.95 in this one and I'm glad I did. What I've learned is HP will repair your product with no problems as long as you have paid for some kind of warranty. If your warranty has run out and you call them for service, they will offer you some kind of deal like 3 years of pick up and delivery repair service for $49.99. Just do it. It will be well worth it to get your device repaired and if you need repairs again in the next 3 years, then you're covered. So again, the components inside are good. The casing that holds it all is just cheap plastic and hinges that somehow fail. Failed hinges on a laptop. I never would have believed it if I hadn't tried to open the stupid laptop myself.

Screen died after 5 months. HP won't fix it

Bought this laptop in August of 2020. I was satisfied with it until I powered it up one day 5 months later and the screen looked like a Picasso painting. Squiggly lines, crazy colors and weird shapes. I contacted HP customer service for a warranty repair and was informed the screen isn't covered. They said they would gladly repair the screen for 499.00. Gee, thanks. So I now have a 17" HP paper weight. This probably doesn't happen a lot since this has a 4.5 star rating, but it happened to me so I won't buy HP again.

I received this laptop today, was supposed to be open-box, excellent Geek Squad certified, this thing should have went in trash can. Opened up lid, turned it on, had vertical lines going down screen, screen frame was cracked, can’t believe they sent this piece of junk out.

My three month old Dell XPS 8930 was being fixed at the Dell Depot (don't ask) and I needed a computer, so I decided to find a good reasonably priced laptop to always have as a back up. I did my research, and had a price point. This laptop has exceeded all expectations. It is fast, has enough storage for me (I'll use the 2TB hard drive on the desktop for storage). The screen is big and perfect for watching movies. When desktop came back, it took me days to hook it back up, because I love this laptop. I now alternate between them, depending on the work I am doing. Great laptop at a great price.

This HP laptop completely serves my basic needs like emailing, file sharing, and ease of use. I was not in the market for a high priced model with endless extras. This HP model is perfect for all the basic functions. The large 17 inch screen is a nice bonus since my former laptop only had a 14 inch screen. I added Microsoft 365 with the purchase and it is working perfectly. I ordered online and picked up curbside at my local Best Buy. That process was so simple and time-saving. I even returned to the Geek Squad counter for a question regarding their Webroot protection, and I was completely satisfied with their help.

We love the big 17.3 screen. Very light weight. Love the Jet Black color, however, you can see finger prints on it. Fast speed even with multitasking. The huge down side, the camera sucks! With videoconference and working from home you really need a good camera. We were debating on taking it back, but I'm old school and like the CD-ROM so we kept it and bought a webcam. You can't have everything...

This laptop is very good for its price point. The screen size is what we were going for. You have to know what your're getting up front though. The durability is good, but the quality is not as good as pricier models. Other screens have a better viewing angle, the touch pad is nicer on more expensive models, the camera is not very good, less hard drive space, etc, etc. We owned the previous version of this for a few years, and it was exactly what my wife needed, and nothing more. My only complaint with this model is that the black finish shows all sorts of finger prints and smudges that the previous version didn't. All in all, I highly recommend this model, just know what you're getting a head of time.

I bought this using the student coupon to bring the price down to $530. It's perfect for everyday use. Pros: Big 17 inch screen Full Keyboard with number pad Entry level i5 tenth gen CPU Relatively quiet when under load (Netflix, streaming, video editing). Cons: No backlit keyboard HP Bloatware Windows S mode, which is a limited Windows OS. 3 cell battery. Last about 10 hr on conservative use. Screen not IPS LED & resolution is poor for 17 inch. Limited USB ports and no USB-C port. Slightly undersized HDD/SSD. 512gb and 1TB should be standard.

Was looking for a laptop that didn't break the bank and this one more than fits the bill. Plenty of USB ports, SSD drive and the large screen. It's not terribly heavy, but that's not a real issue for me since mine sits on a desk. I've owned mine for about a month and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

The HP 17.3 has a large screen for easy viewing, which was one of my priorities. However, this model doesn't have a touchscreen. It is light weight making transporting easy. The sound is great, no need for earphones during my lessons. The touch on the keyboard is perfect for me. I only use laptops, so this one was a good choice for me. I was willing to give up the touchscreen for a lower price. It is adaptable for working from various locations. The Geek Squad assisted with installingMicrosoft 365 and Webroot antivirus. Epson assisted with "Epson Connect". I waited for the best price and I always buy my computers from Best Buy! My experiences with the Geek Squad has always been supportive. I ask a lot of questions and they meet the challenge.

I am not so great with computer reviews but I can tell you that I been very happy with the way this laptop has handled itself. I had a laptop that was like 7 years old, I had bought a few games from steam like Planet Coaster, and another game that most might not be interested in. Okay so I am not a big gamer, Anyway both games didn't work on my old laptop so I took a long time to pick a laptop and came across the HP which is a brand that I always liked but wasn't the brand of my old laptop but I had own HP items in the past. I also loved the big screen because I am use to it and can't see myself on a smaller one. I was a bit nervous that the games wouldn't work but after I loaded them and steam they worked great and the speed of the laptop is super fast for me with loading up. One click and its loaded. All games that I have played work great and no crashes or any other problems. I also have other game sites loaded to my laptop. Keep in mind that I got out of the S mode right away. That's all up to the person that owns the laptop and me I get out of S mode right away. I done it with another laptop and nothing happens. It says security risk and stuff like that but it's just that Microsoft wants only there apps and stuff on your computer that you payed for. You do what you want don't let a company bully you.

Geat laptop, purchased it in 2021 & now we're in June of 2023 and works as if purchased yesterday since i only use the Microsoft Edge on this laptop, paying bills reading & watching videos, loading vacation photos & videos. Hasn't used up much memory and runs pretty fast as long as you maintane the updates. Love the 17" screen for those late night quiet movie views w/ my BT headphones.
