Best investment for the price on sale and very quite. Make sure you update drivers/apps/ with windows update after you hookup and go online for the best experience. You can also upgrade memory up to 32GB. There's no disk drive but you can add an external one through USB. SSD can also be upgraded or you can add another one if you prefer. I'm not a gamer on PC so I don't know if you can add a powerful graphic card to this unit

My 10-year-old PC finally bit the dust. I saw the specs on this PC and thought it was a good deal at $530. I bought an external CD/DVD writer for $25 to install some of my old software. The performance is great out of the box. I ordered an additional 8GB of RAM for $28 to make a total of 16 GB. The machine will take up to 32GB (Two 16GB sticks.) If you are planning on gaming, this PC is probably not for you. The power supply is only 180 watts and most gaming graphics cards recommend almost twice that amount of power or more. You could upgrade the power supply but due to the motherboard limitations it appears 280 watts is about all you could upgrade to. The Intel integrated graphics UHD630 that is installed on the PC is Intel's most recent version, but it doesn't compare to a gaming graphics card. The I7-8700 processor is not the most recent version of the I7 series but it’s still powerful. Bottom line is if you are using PC for Microsoft Office, web browsing and basic photo editing this PC is great. If your needs demand a high level of graphics capabilities, you might be disappointed.

Great desktop i7 - only SSD upgradeable

This system is FAST! If you have the need for speed, or you're hammering away at monster spread sheets or you've got 128 music tracks running for your latest pop hit, this machine will do it. I love how it has 16 virtual cores and 8 native cores. Don't know what that is? Then don't worry about it. Just know it has horsepower to spare. Plenty of USB's and 2 types of video outs, legacy and HDMI. The only thing I didn't like about it was it's only SSD upgradeable. I have a 2 TB mechanical hard drive and the power supply is not big enough to support mechanical hard drives. Yes, SSD's are coming down in price but this was a deal breaker for me. Instead, I got a HP Envy i7 that could take mechanical hard drives and that power supply was more than adequate. So happy ending. If you're looking for an i7 on the cheap and don't need to upgrade the internal hard drive or add an internal one, you should get this.

Lots of power in a little punch

Packs a lot of power in a little punch. Excellent machine that will do everything a home computer needs to do and even game. Hundreds cheaper than the big boy gaming, but has the same guts. The only difference is the graphics cards is not as beefy. And it doesn't have the cool lights and see through glass cover that a "gaming computer" has. Other than those two things this is a Compact. heavy, a very solid machine that HP put together. Very pleased with this machine.

The computer is easy to set up, and much faster than my previous one. I got this one sale, so the price seems good. At it's regular price, I am not sure the lack of multiple HDMI inputs or limited hard drive space would be worth the money, but on sale this was a good deal. To hold my music and photos, I needed to add an external hard drive. I also had to invest in an external CD\DVD drive.

    RAM/Power Supply upgrade

I am writing this review to provide insight to anyone that is interested in upgrading the RAM or graphics card. The RAM was simple, there is two slots for DDR4 2666 MHz PC4-21300. I upgraded to 16GB (2 pack of 8GB) purchased from Amazon, but Bestbuy sells the same package for roughly the same price (SKU: 6346309). The power supply was the tricky part since most graphic card upgrades call for a minimum 300W power supply. The power supply included is a HP specific 180W with part number L08261-004 with dimensions 165mm x 95mm x 73.5mm (L x W x H) which is different from the part number HP gives in the Q&A section. The power supply has three connectors. Two of which are 4 pin (2x2) and the third is a 7 pin. So a universal ATX power supply could potentially work, but would require some hardwiring and unless you have a strong electrical background I would advice against going this route. I did find a 310W HP power supply that should work since the dimensions match and the connectors also seem to match. The part number for this supply is L08262-004. A google search of PCG007 should get you started. I haven’t received the power supply yet, but I am assuming it will work. If it does not, I will update this review.

Needed a new computer for working from home. This one was easy to setup and way faster than our old all in one computer. The only complaint is there is no CD drive, there is a place for one but does not have it installed. We have 2 monitors connected to it and it works great.

So far this product runs really fast and its small which means it doesn't take up much office space. However, it will not recognize speakers that are aren't HP. So I hope to get that error fixed.

I bought this to replace my HP Envy 700-056 desktop computer and my Lenovo Ideapad 110-171kb which I use to do a lot of photo and video editing [Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements] . This new computer is lightning fast. It boots up in 20 seconds. What I used to have to wait several minutes for happens in just a few seconds. I am doing things now that I just didn't bother with before because of the time it took to do therm. I love it! BTW - It's VERY quiet. I have placed the computer on its side because that way the disc drive is horizontal. The vent holes are on top now, so I figured it wouldn't make a difference.

Got a good deal on this desktop and have no issues with it performance wise so far. One complaint I have is that I wish they provided both HDMI and VGA cable standard with the computer. Another is I wasn't aware that it does not have a CD/DVD drive. All in all though I am happy with my purchase.

I purchased this HP tower with Intel I7 to replace my previous HP from 2010. I have been using it for several weeks and I am extremely happy. Everything has been easy set-up and the speed is amazing to boot-up and run all of the typical Office programs as well as picture and video viewing and editing. I bought this at a sale price of <$600 and is a great value for that amount.
