Picked this 16" HP Envy up on sale, open box -excellent for aound $1k (after tax). With an i9, rtx 4060, upgraded 64gb 5600mhz ram and 2x2tb samsung 990 pro SSDs, you can put together a beast of a machine for around $1400. You will be hard press to find anything with these specs for under $2k. If you find the thermals too high, repaste and upgrade thermal pads. Should drop temps to a more manageable range. Overall, great buy!

Great laptop overall but they put a good gpu in it and its hard to keep temps down

Sleek and fast! This is my first experience with an i9 and the processing speed is on par with (and maybe even faster than in some cases) the iMacs I have available to me for editing pictures with lightroom or photoshop. The only downside for me is the lack of accessories like hard cases, but right now I have a cheap one on that was built for the 15in model, and it seems to work. Amazing computer for on the go editting!

so far loving it, it's fast, features are nice, and the price wasn't bad all for all we got with it.

It's an HP so of course the hinges are gonna be a source of permanent concern, however bar that, runs like a dream with barely even a hiccup despite currently having just 16gb of RAM. The nice thing though is that I can upgrade to 32gb or even 64gb of RAM if need be. Paired with an I9 CPU and a significant, also upgradeable SSD storage? Should last me a goodly amount of time. Just need to mind the hinges, only reason it's not 5 stars.

This is an absolute beast of a laptop for an amazing price. The CPU and 4060 put it on par with the latest Apple M2 laptops - but with the option to upgrade ram and storage after the fact. The screen looks great, it remains quieter than other gaming laptops even while running demanding games. I've been able to play various games like Control on highest settings with highest ray racing turned on. Overall I'm very happy!

Exactly what we needed. With the hardware setup it should last us a while. Fast, great graphics card, nearly a gaming computer with all the tech in it. Passed the Minecraft dynamite test with flying colors. 4k graphics or better.
